I still keep watching this trailer despite the game being out, hoping that one day I can play the version of the game that Nomura intended us to. This footage and overall trailer is still the best thing about FFXV. The final game is good but it's nowhere near the quality this trailer teased it to be. Plus, none of this content is even in the game. Very sad.
Dominic Sawicki Yes. with all the trouble Nomura was having developing this game I'll believe anything. But I also believe that he just had too much on his plate. If he just had this game to worry about I'm sure we would have gotten his original vision for the game.
To all the people who say this isn't final fantasy any more... The turn based battle system(ff1-3 and 10) is not what defines final fantasy, neither is the active time battle system(ff4-9). What distinguished final fantasy from other RPGs is that this series is always changing to adapt to the time that it's in. The NES games had some of the most advanced battle animations of its time. The SNES games were the first games to have deep involving plots. The Playstation switched from 2d to 3d gameplay. The ps2 games had voice acting. What destroyed final fantasy is when they did Nothing new or special in the ps3 era. The byproduct is the two worst games in the series (13-14). The reason final fantasy is final fantasy is because it is an old series that can change and adapted the modern culture of RPGs today. If you ask for a turn-based, final fantasy, your asking square to destroy the very reason final fantasy had a turn-based battle system to begin with. If you don't like the way final fantasy is going, blame it on the the culture final fantasy has to adapted to and not final fantasy itself. I love the ATB battle system (in fact I'm doing a playthrough of ff 5 right now), but final fantasy will stop be final fantasy in the day they stop trying to revolution the RPG formula.
I was just about to start high school. Was taking a beginner course for driving lessons around the time when the trailer came out. Now I'm on my fifth year after high school :P
they have to make it good :S if they don't succeed with this, Square might have to make a huge turn over in their company. This game has to be a new Skyrim. It has to be a new Bioshock infinite. It can't be something someone can argue about liking.
So ahem... your showing another trailer now... does that mean we will be getting the game soon, or will we have to wait another 7 years for the NEXT trailer?
GravityAlchemist1 Well... to be fair, there was good reason that I respect: One of the main reasons why the game was moved over to the next generation of consoles was that the game was just too big. Set pieces now involve fighting giant sea serpents, dozens of airships, and entire armies, which is a far cry from self-contained turn based battles of most earlier Final Fantasy titles. In addition, the "Luminous" next-gen rendering engine has made in-engine gameplay pretty much indistinguishable from the pre-rendered CG of earlier FF games.
Risa Grant The reason has already been stated specifically by the games Producer/Director Tetsuya Nomura. It's because they couldn't realize their original vision for the game. The beta they developed for the ps3 was just a massive compromise of Tetsuya's original vision. Thus Yoichi Wada gave him the option to re develop the game for PS4.
So basically... "massive compromise" being the ps3 wasn't big enough to fit the entire game? Sorry, but reading what you said basically sounds like a summed up version of what I said. Do you mind clarifying please?
It's funny how at first this game received nothing but praise from both FF fans and non-fans alike, but now it's suddenly getting hated on for "not being Final Fantasy." I have a theory as to why this is. You see, everyone was hyped for this game, and the hype started spreading. Eventually the news of this game reached the greasy basements of the "old school" and "hardcore" Final Fantasy fans (the ones we don't talk about). They peeled their shit stained asses out of their chair, turned off FF7, and crawled outside. After letting their eyes adjust to the foreign phenomenon known as sunlight, they watched the trailer to this game and began hating on it everywhere they went.
Not sure if I should feel insulted being loving FF7 fan but I seriously can't wait for this. Was that monster fucking Leviathan I saw? I hope to GOD all the summons are that bad ass.
wolfganghammerfistheywood Eh. Yea people need to learn how to end stories. Letting them go. I find the same annoyance with Half Life "3". XII was where I started losing interest, but it seems they got their groove back.
Btw for those who are saying the tiny map at the corner of the big map is the World Map....its not its the map for that City or Town in that Nation...yeah FFXV is going to be THAT huge folks. Also if you look closely at one of the window's when Noctis is teleporting and attacking soldiers you can see the interior off the building equipped with lights etc.
There is the map then there is a square in the bottom right corner of the map and inside it is the CITY map in the NATION or the NATION map...not the world map. You can align the shape of the actually map with the bottem corner map and it will fit perfectly. Nomura said this is 1 of 4 nations (5 if you count the enemy nation) not to mention the detail at the bottom of the airship shows this is going to be the biggest open world game ive EVER seen in this much detail. I think the small island in the corner of the small city map (the one people say is the world map) probably makes up Grand Pulse in FFXIII tbh...
I absolutely CANNOT wait to race home from Target after this is released, pop it in to my ps4, close the blinds, turn off the lights, and enjoy it in surround sound 1080p. IT WILL BE GLORIOUS
After some thought, I just realized, I'm a little scared for this being released. With the time it's taken to development, and being hyped beyond belief, I'm afraid we are going to get another Duke Nukem Forever. I hope Square had a good reason to push this back.
People need to open their minds about this game. Not everyone likes that naive tone, whith everything and everyone so colorful. I liked FFVII and VIII because they tried to be a little more serious. This one is trying to get closer to reality but the fantasy is still there. As for the gameplay, I don't mind them trying something new. Don't hate me for this.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR FFXV* Something tells me that Noctis the main character will fall into a Deep Coma near the end due to relations with the "Light" and "Eyes that see the light of expiring souls" Stella will probably either Tragically Die or Rule all the kingdoms and crystals as Queen waiting for Noct to wake up Its the heavy themes of sleep and how there pushing it. It actually seems like a perfect ending as its tragic, reasonable(With the mythology background and the determined task in return for a gift) and is complete while leaving a sliver of room for a sequel...i think this will be the case. Add in some very sad instrumental, flashbacks and the Prince lying on a royal bed with a symbolic message like "Hear we wait for our king to awake from his endless fantasy" then cut to credits playing Somnus, Noctis is either going to Die, Fall into a Coma or simply Fail on an Apocalyptic scale... these are pretty much the only things that Fit "Tragic" in an FF with no happy ending and Knowing Nojima and his works(Crisis core,FFX,FFVIII,FFVII etc) i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest..dude lives by twist and turns.
***** Yes!! Thank you. I swear the more and more they've been releasing about this game since this trailer, the less excited I've been. I can't have been the only only one who just about died after seeing this. Since, the game's direction has strayed quite a bit from what I've see in this trailer and I'm kinda disappointed :/
I am a huge fan of Square games, even Enix, and this game looks amazing. For anyone saying that they are disappointed in it: Stop comparing new games to old games. This title has nothing to do with previous final fantasies, just like all the others excluding X-2 which was some sort of Charlie's angels crossover fluke. They are making the gameplay more dynamic, the story is something new and refreshing, and people still can't wrap their feeble minds around it. Well, more for us and less for you. I'm going to love the shit out of this game.
zacom32 I really hope you're not taking Nomura's comments in a weekly Magazine, talking about how powerful the PS4 is, as confirmation that the game is delayed....
KoopaOviasu They confirmed that the game is *most likely* not gonna be released in 2014. I can't say for several years, but we're not getting this anytime soon.
RIP? Maybe because all the people( except Tetsuya Nomura) who made Final Fantasy I-X, Chrono Triggers and Xenogears left Square Soft and opened a new studio call Monolith Soft
popimpi They help Square Soft made Final Fantasy I-X, Tetsuya Takahashi made Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Triggers( two of the best JRPG in SNES). After Final Fantasy X, they left Square Soft because they don't want to make Final Fantasy anymore. Hironobu Sakaguchi who created Final Fantasy left Square Enix too, now he is the president of Mistwalker, the team made Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey( very good game for FF fan) and The Last Story
Thu Huong Nguyen Wrong, on almost every count. No 1 person "made" FFVI or Chrono Trigger. Hiroyuki Ito Directed FFVI under Kitase and Matsui and Tokita Directed CT also under Kitase. Tetsuya Takahashi was one of many lead artists on FFVI and he had no lead role on CT, he was a graphics programmer, under the famous Toriyama. Mistwalker also haven't "made" anything that is a useless term in game design. Mistwalker did not develop the majority of any of those games, they just produced them. Artoon developed Blue Dragon, feelsplus developed Lost Odyssey and AQ Interactive developed TLS. MW mostly did some writing or game design for those titles. Although Uematsu did consistently produce music for all three (not alone however,) and Sakaguchi did direct TLS, that was it. Fact check everything you say before you say it, otherwise you look silly.
Gatzilla Gat In fact, yes I will! You will never know what you missed out on. Its not like everything in 2014 is great. the 90's was an golden age for games. Oh lord.. *90'sgasm*
This looks so fucking amazing. THIS, people of the world, is why games should be in development for WAYYYYY more than a year or even 3. Cant.Fucking.Wait.
People who hate whenever Final Fantasy changes their combat system, to the point of even denouncing some games as being "not worthy of the title" clearly misses the point of Final Fantasy. The system is meant to change in every new game. Whether turned based, or the increasingly fluid style of later games, they are supposed to change. The world and characters are meant to be new and different too. The only trademarks to retain are the chocobos, the moogles, the tonberries and the cactuars... and summons (though they are known with different names)
I was nine years old when this game was first announced nine years ago. I'm now 18, almost done with high school, and now seeing this game progress so much from the early trailers to even what's in this video, really gives me a case of the feels man. Time flies by so quickly.
Man I got goosebumps. I've been waiting for this game since I was a kid! Around 9 or so! And damn, square you've outdone yourselves. This was nothing what anyone was expecting. You definitely exceeded all of my expectations.
Errrrrrr no, I was thinking the same about FF 13 but this looks promising. Provided they, DON'T FUCK IT UP. But knowing Square Enix, they will find a way.
Dude_that_likes_Play Stations! Doesn't matter why I don't like her. She's overstayed her welcome in the franchise. Her time is done. Let them move on to a new story.
Dude_that_likes_Play Stations! Square released FF8 shortly after FF7. The other FF7 spinoffs/prequels were released as handheld games or were not focused on Cloud. We haven't left the Lightning Saga in 5 years, and they even managed to shove her in FF14. 13-2 sold less than half of 13, and I don't even think Lightning Returns broke a million copies. So no, I don't think the fanbase was 'cool' with it. Like I said, it's time to move on.
I'm kinda weirded out by the sudden transition of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts being available to the Xbox One. I know that it'll reach a bigger fanbase, which I like, but doesn't that put the PS4 slightly at the bottom? Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts were major exclusives to the PS2 and PS3, just like Halo and Gears of War were to the Xbox line. What major exclusives does that leave the PS4 with? Not trying to start a flame war or anything, I'm just curious.
Kingdom Hearts was never really a major exlusive to Sony. CoM, 358/2 DAYs, RECOded and 3D were on Nintendo's handhelds. And you seem to be forgetting the XIII Series and how it was available on 360, not to mention pre VII FFs were Nintendo first, and FFIII and FFIV being on the DS. So in other words, not anywhere close to exclusive
***** Those two games don't really appeal to me. The Order looks like another generic cover based shooter. BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH OF THOSE RIGHT????????. I kind of liked Infamous but it has the same problem that Grand heft auto has. Once you complete all the main story missions there's really not that much to do.
It always seemed to me like Square trying to play catch up since Japanese gaming has been viewed as inferior to many people and putting their games on Xbox was just a way to appeal to people who would never bother with JRPGs in the first place. And apparently didn't judging by how fast these games drop off the radar for Xbox fans. Seems like wasted effort on their part.
This game is going to be the best Final Fantasy yet. The gameplay, story, characters, and setting all look amazing. This combines traditional elements of Final Fantasy with the newest innovations. There's no way this game is going to suck.
@@djw_tekken8490 im not gonna argue about which game is the best but this person's expectations were probably not met. they waited and expected a completely different game.
Can't wait to see this again at E3 this year! I've been so excited for Tetsuya Nomura's first Final Fantasy game for what feels like forever! Hopefully, we finally get a release window in 12 days
I love the old school turn-based combat of Final Fantasy's of the past. 11-14 have left me disappointed and almost hateful of the series (the XIII games are the main reason.) However, I know that people of this era seem to not want any more turn-based games. They want to fight in real time, which is disappointing. That said, if they make this like Devil May Cry, then I'll be happier than if it were FF13's combat system.
what would be the point of next gen consoles and advanced technology when all you want to do is have the same old boring ass turn based combat where you watch the characters do everything? We're moving forward, not staying in the same damn nostalgia circle you're on.
As I said, I know that the combat system has to move forward, but if you're gonna talk about characters doing everything why not talk about Final Fantasy 13's combat system then. You have VERY little control and even a button that lets you pretty much let the computer take over. Also, what's so bleeding wrong with turn-based combat?! It's tactical even if it does get boring after hours of game play. You're one of those people that I talked about in the original comment who can't stand turn-based strategy. I will agree though that slowly turn-based combat is out of place on a next gen console like the XBO and PS4. It's better served on the WiiU and 3DS.
I'm not saying XII's combat system is bad. It's the best of the newer systems so far. I enjoyed it more than I though. Happily I play as Ashe because I hate Vaan so much
Now here is my worry. They taken a lot of scenes out of the game and episode Duscae happens outside the city during the invasion. I'm worried that the battle in the royal city won't be a part of 15. I'd really hate for that to be so, because doing this scene was my number 1 hope for this game.
+Taru don't worry. This battle will (most likely) be in the game. Why you ask? Because you are wrong about one thing. This isn't the royal city insomnia. (Noctis hometown) ... this is Altissia the town that is kinda based on Venice. Thus, the town with alot of water. This battle won't occur in the beginning of the game, but somewhere within. After all there is the battle against leviathan as well. So don't worry.. chances are, we will see this ingame
Maik Kellner Thank you for the reinforcement lol. Ever since I saw that scene I was overly excited for it....... On another note that would have been a nice opening battle for the game lol
It's funny. How the 'old' fans of the series are seemingly one-by-one saying this is bad, for one reason or another. Mostly because the combat is no longer turn-based. I find it refreshing to see Square Enix is taking a step into the future. People are afraid of change. They want to stay in their basements and hug the classics, (I'm looking at you FF7 fans), but I think they need to realize, change is an absolute. And as said, I find it good that Final Fantasy is changing. Can the change be bad? Sure. Can it be good? Absolutely. Before making a judgement on it, however. Play the game, when it's released. And when you do: Don't immediately compare it to other Final Fantasy games. Seeing as the combat is a fresh breathe in the series, I think it deserves to be firstly judged by it's own content, before even thinking about comparison. Just my few cents in, gentlemen.
Wow just found out another unknown character while watching this trailer. Around 2:56 we see a quarter of this guy's face. I thought it was Cor Leonis at first, but after comparing their faces I can see that they're actually different people. Can't believe I'm still finding shit about this game after so long.
I've never played a Final Fantasy because I never liked the Kingdom Hearts/Pokemon simulation style of combat but this combat looks more like Assassin's Creed/Batman games. People always have over-credited the series in my opinion but it seems like it could be amazing with a revamp of it's fighting. That being said with the graphics, this makes it a game I'm looking forward too.
Kingdom hearts is a good few years away yet Tetsuya Nomura is notorious for perfection which is why it's took him so long to make FF XV. FFXV on the other hand given that supposedly the game is now complete they're just adding final polish i would estimate the end of this year or early next year. and then we'll see FF XV. More likely March next year as thats been traditional for the last few years with the FF XIII franchise.
i just wish they would go back to using armor, weapons and trinkets with and xp gaining system, possibly trees now as well as standard level up things like mp/hp str/ag/dex etc
Companies probably want to make something new. I mean put new ideas in use! It is good and it will be a game production experiment. The xp/armor/talend idea has been used for many years now! Time for something new. Plus I consider the meaning of "fan" when someone likes 60% the story and 40% the playstyle. If you really like the idea of talends and staff like that there are many games that can offer u the experience. If you are a fan of FF try it out! Play it till it ends! Learn the story-see the story, even if the playstyle and features are not so good for your gaming taste!
faz gassab Yeah i also still put hope on xv to be really good and successful .. But still its better if they make it as standard JRPG game .. Action RPG is nice but it might lack some customization and gameplay that standard JRPG can do .. But still hoping they don't mess this one =)
First of all i would like to make clear that I love FF and I have played all of it's main games, but there is one thing that I simply hate and can not understand of it and it is it's fan base. God, FF fan base is pathetic, how can there be so much hate and controversy between fans. it's like if FF fans were divided between the classics ones (1-6) the ps1 ones (7-9) and the "new ones" (10-15) and they hate each other and want the franchise to collapse (sorry for spelling)
Well because FF 1-9 were actually deserving of the title RPG. "Oh look I can run down a narrow corridor to the next objective and hack and slash enemies!" "My attention span is awesome!"
Dear Square Enix, I was in 8th grade when you released the first trailer of this game. I am now a semester away from graduating from college. That is all.
It would seem that Square Enix is finally listening to the Fans in terms of wanting an open world and ditching the turn based mechanics in favor of real time like their more western counter parts. Now all they have to do is hire someone to write a plot that isn't convoluted and weird. Which judging by this trailer they still need some work to do.
***** I hope you are right because I truly love the FInal Fantasy Franchise and want Square Enix to succeed on this one. Unfortunately, I'll have to reserve judgement on this because I remember feeling the same excitement for the FF13 trailers before it's release. Then when the game actually came out, I could't help think what a convoluted mess of trying to figure out confusing terms like Fal'Cie and L'Cie, It had a long drawn out story that no one cared about, It had a very linear progression of forcing you down a hallway for 40+ hour fighting, it was almost pointless to have a map since there was no way you'd get lost and it had tons of sappy over acting with every character being annoying except for Sahz.
Have we had any info on the fella standing on the right at 2:34? He's standing opposite the old fella that gets a portrait at the end so I'm supposing he's important.
Finally changing something up. I love FF series but the turn based game is getting old. That's what ruined pokemon on X and Y for me. Repetitive gameplay that doesn't change throughout the years. I mean, you don't have to do a hacknslash every game, change it up once in a whole. I loved dissidia it was amazing.
Revisiting this a month and a half from release. It was the first time I was exposed to Final Fantasy XV. I feel so lucky, not having been around since 2006 and suffering through ten years of waiting for this game, haha.
ancxxxsold13r i really enjoyed *, but the problem was that squall was an anti social character, which makes it hard to develop a relationship with him. Very late in the game he breaks and only then do you fall into it. FF7 was epic because aeris/aerith has abilities and skills up to 100 i think, yet sephiroth kills her. Ultimately even though i love all ff's, i think FF10 was about the best game there ever was. Tidus is very friendly and motivational. You get into his stroy literally 6 mins into the game, before you know it the weekend is gone.... 13 failed for me due to its complete linear progression, and i hated the leveling system
No clue...I'm not sure why they named it versus XIII in the first place, besides the fact that they were in development at the same time. However, none of the Final Fantasies are linked unless they have a number after the roman numeral. For example: Final Fantasy X-2 or Final Fantasy XIII-2
LukeMCFC 141 Versus XIII was supposed to be part of a project along with Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. But that plan fell through when Square decided to change Agito XIII into Final Fantasy Type-0 since the plot elements didn't match up anymore with the other two games and with Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII going off on their own in terms of lore. So Square re-branded Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV and are finally working on the game fully. But as Ace TheFlame said the main series games aren't connected in any way other than sharing similar elements and themes such as crystals, Chocobos, and airships and the like. You could honestly start with XV if you wanted and jump around the series and you'd be completely fine. Though you may want to get FFX/X-2 HD since they're about to be re-released. It's a great place to start off.
LukeMCFC 141 Well...you shouldn't have. They're a lot cheaper now, you could still pick one up. Or if you get a Vita you can play the first ten games in the series on it.
Iv never payed a final fantasy game. This looks like a time to start. The other games I could not play because it did not look visually appealing to me. This looks awesome.
Daniel Walters Well since this game is being made by the same people who made kingdom hearts series, Then that raises my chances of me getting this game on my xbox one.
The trailer that brought back hope to all FF Fans....and shattered for some. "The world we purport to know is ever changing, ending as we speak.....so it must be *for all existance*"
+Shownon *I can almost smell the game, my man, Shownon.* Man... what a ride, huh? If I remember correctly, this is the very same trailer when we first conversed with each other about the game. That was E3 2013, now it's 2016 -- the year of FFXV -- It has finally come, eh? :D
+Albino Bob Yes...its been a long journey, a long fight. With every info came either praise, battles or doubt....its been a VERY long ride brother. Soon, we will have the game within our palms... The Myth..will become real soon enough my man..soon enough.
This looks so fucking *_Awesome!_*. I have never played FF before or never even understood what it is about but I'm definitely looking forward to this game.
That hooded man in white almost looked like Eizo from Assassin's Creed. Please let it be Eizo! I will love you if he becomes the first guest character in a Final Fantasy franchise.
Ezio in a Final Fantasy game would be stupid. The fact that there's an Ezio costume in XIII-2 is dumb enough. Final Fantasy should remain within it's own universe.
Been wondering. How was the situation around Square changing the engine? Was that work that required a lot of time, or did they have some kind of tool that made it go faster?
I've always wished they'd make a FF game with a truly awesome, in-depth real-time combat system, and now my dreams have finally been realized. I guess the turn-based stuff can still be cool and all, but I've always to wanted to actually FEEL the true power of the character I'm controlling, rather than just ordering commands and watching repetitive attack and magic animations. I mean think about it, imagine if you could control Cloud Strife, and make him fight with all his over the top extreme badassness like he does in Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. I think that's what this game's battle system is going to be like, or at least that's what they're going for. Just all out balls to wall epicness.
It's almost the end of 2020 and yet I still come back here wishing this game came out.
There's still some hope for us, just watch the secret ending of KINGDOM HEARTS 3 ReMind, with this guy Yozora :)
Very sad.
Dominic Sawicki you do know that Nomura had intentions to turn this into a musical after seeing les miserables
I can't believe you are taking that seriously.
Dominic Sawicki Yes. with all the trouble Nomura was having developing this game I'll believe anything. But I also believe that he just had too much on his plate. If he just had this game to worry about I'm sure we would have gotten his original vision for the game.
some of this is in the game, a lot of this footage is altissia and leviathan...
While the concept is still in the game, this exact gameplay footage is not in the final game unfortunately.
I still get chills at the end of this trailer, when it goes from versus 13 to Final Fantasy 15!
simplytyson I though I was the only one hahaha. It's good to know I'm not crazy.
Anyone watching this 2016? Can't wait for this game to release anymore!
+Hemic I CANT WAIT ANYMORE !!!!
I love the ATB battle system (in fact I'm doing a playthrough of ff 5 right now), but final fantasy will stop be final fantasy in the day they stop trying to revolution
the RPG formula.
If Final Fantasy is set in the 21st century, it's still Final Fantasy. All it needs is science fiction.
Aamen dude
Damn has this aged like milk. FF14 is now the best of the last few FF released lol
I was graduating HS when I first heard about this eight years ago... I have a wife and kid now..the wait had better be worth it.
BWAHAHAHA!!! i already graduated college and got married and i am still waiting for this game. ITS CRAZY haha
That just means that it'll be that much better. Reason: Final Fantasy 7 took years to be developed.
I was just about to start high school. Was taking a beginner course for driving lessons around the time when the trailer came out. Now I'm on my fifth year after high school :P
Tetsuya Nomura has never made a bad game i have high hopes for XV...
they have to make it good :S if they don't succeed with this, Square might have to make a huge turn over in their company. This game has to be a new Skyrim. It has to be a new Bioshock infinite. It can't be something someone can argue about liking.
7 or 8 years of patiently waiting and all we got was a name change.....proud of you square
Not as if you're paying anything while "waiting"
Wali you are cute
So ahem... your showing another trailer now... does that mean we will be getting the game soon, or will we have to wait another 7 years for the NEXT trailer?
I with on this man. I was 13 when this game was announced back in '06. Now I'm 21 going on 22 and the game is no where near release.
They peeled their shit stained asses out of their chair, turned off FF7, and crawled outside. After letting their eyes adjust to the foreign phenomenon known as sunlight, they watched the trailer to this game and began hating on it everywhere they went.
We need more people like you
People hate change brah. It's a pain in the ass aspect of humanity.
badboy51826 ofcourse it is. Every title have different gameplay.
Plus they've given it a "VERY HIGH PRIORITY" wow..
Not sure if I should feel insulted being loving FF7 fan but I seriously can't wait for this. Was that monster fucking Leviathan I saw? I hope to GOD all the summons are that bad ass.
wolfganghammerfistheywood
Eh.
Yeah, but even smaller in a corner inside the city map is the world map, look at an HD zoomed city map on google
I am getting this feeling that this might just surpass Final Fantasy 7....
Just a feeling
After some thought, I just realized, I'm a little scared for this being released. With the time it's taken to development, and being hyped beyond belief, I'm afraid we are going to get another Duke Nukem Forever. I hope Square had a good reason to push this back.
Dear Square, screw the naysayers, I still love you, and I always have.
You can hear the crowd cheer when they see "Versus XIII" and cheer harder Eden it changes to XV.
*POSSIBLE SPOILER FOR FFXV*
Something tells me that Noctis the main character will fall into a Deep Coma near the end due to relations with the "Light" and "Eyes that see the light of expiring souls"
Stella will probably either Tragically Die or Rule all the kingdoms and crystals as Queen waiting for Noct to wake up
Its the heavy themes of sleep and how there pushing it. It actually seems like a perfect ending as its tragic, reasonable(With the mythology background and the determined task in return for a gift) and is complete while leaving a sliver of room for a sequel...i think this will be the case. Add in some very sad instrumental, flashbacks and the Prince lying on a royal bed with a symbolic message like "Hear we wait for our king to awake from his endless fantasy" then cut to credits playing Somnus,
Noctis is either going to Die, Fall into a Coma or simply Fail on an Apocalyptic scale... these are pretty much the only things that Fit "Tragic" in an FF with no happy ending and Knowing Nojima and his works(Crisis core,FFX,FFVIII,FFVII etc) i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest..dude lives by twist and turns.
This take is scarily on point considering when it was posted
Do I have to play all the others to play this one? Cause this game looks sick
Nope. It's a standalone title.
How much video games do you play?
every final fantasy have it´s own story
Thank god you don't, thing is I would recommend playing 10, because that is seriously one of the best games made
***** You're trying too hard.
MAN I still can't get over how this looks so much better than what we ended up with.
They need to make a new trailer as epic as this one.
Watch the Summon from the demo. It is as epic as the trailer.
Oong the Last Airbender when I summoned him. I felt so unworthy of his power xD
***** Yes!! Thank you. I swear the more and more they've been releasing about this game since this trailer, the less excited I've been. I can't have been the only only one who just about died after seeing this. Since, the game's direction has strayed quite a bit from what I've see in this trailer and I'm kinda disappointed :/
***** Yup, that won't happen again, this was directed under Nomura.
Arekusu San I don't understand. So Nomura is the only one who can make epic trailers?
I've been having these weird thoughts lately...
Like... is any of this real... or not?
None of this.....makes sense to me.
Impressive, is it not?
I am a huge fan of Square games, even Enix, and this game looks amazing. For anyone saying that they are disappointed in it: Stop comparing new games to old games. This title has nothing to do with previous final fantasies, just like all the others excluding X-2 which was some sort of Charlie's angels crossover fluke. They are making the gameplay more dynamic, the story is something new and refreshing, and people still can't wrap their feeble minds around it. Well, more for us and less for you. I'm going to love the shit out of this game.
This is when the next gen graphics are really going to shine
I actually thought that the middle guy at 3:09 was Ezio Auditore from Assasins Creed
Guys how about you make your own game rather than complaining
Exactly!
YES YOUR HIGNESS.
All hail Lelouch!
you ruined the show you were in
Well, Lelouch said it so I guess it's true.
wow, the graphics are just, wow..
Square needs to hurry up and announce a release date already so I can know when to get my PS4.
They just delayed it for several years..
its coming out on the xbox one
Jeremy Apanah
I know that dude, still isn't going to stop me from buying a PS4.
zacom32 I really hope you're not taking Nomura's comments in a weekly Magazine, talking about how powerful the PS4 is, as confirmation that the game is delayed....
KoopaOviasu They confirmed that the game is *most likely* not gonna be released in 2014. I can't say for several years, but we're not getting this anytime soon.
RIP FF, RIP SQUARE SOFT RIP MY LIFE ..
RIP? Maybe because all the people( except Tetsuya Nomura) who made Final Fantasy I-X, Chrono Triggers and Xenogears left Square Soft and opened a new studio call Monolith Soft
Thu Huong Nguyen Monolith Soft is comprised mostly of ex-Xenogears/Saga team members, not the leads of FFI-X or the Dream Team.
popimpi They help Square Soft made Final Fantasy I-X, Tetsuya Takahashi made Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Triggers( two of the best JRPG in SNES).
One more copy for another hungry fan!
I heard the People who worked on Kingdom Hearts Combat system are working on this, And im loving the combat !!!
None of this happens in the final version. We got robbed.
You didn't get robbed, but Square Enix sure made a laughingstock out of themselves.
I haven't been this keen for a Final Fantasy title since X and now we're getting X-HD AND THIS!
Well...we're not exactly getting this anytime soon.
Yeah but I'm still mega pumped for it!
Yes!
Chocomunchie Seriously can't wait! :3
***** they said this year
NEXT FINAL FANTASY 7 RIGHT HERE PEOPLE!
7 isn't as great as everyone thinks it is.
The game hasn't aged very well.
This comment didn’t age well
Once this game comes out that's when I'll buy ps4
You're not the only one...and when it's released the PS4 is hopefully cheaper then nowadays. :P
Im still waiting for this game 😭
This doesn't look like the Final Fantasy I grew up loving. Should rename it Final Gear Solid: Chaos Theory (featuring Ezio from Assassin's Creed)
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA i love you.
why the hell is a look a like of ezio in there
The battle system has changed. oh fucking well. It's time for something new.
Gatzilla Gat In fact, yes I will! You will never know what you missed out on. Its not like everything in 2014 is great. the 90's was an golden age for games. Oh lord.. *90'sgasm*
Since when was there so many panda around 3 on this thread... PANDA'S UNITE
This looks so fucking amazing. THIS, people of the world, is why games should be in development for WAYYYYY more than a year or even 3. Cant.Fucking.Wait.
3:08 ezio? What are you doing here
haha an assassin's creed ad popped up when i clicked on ruclips.net/video/P3xKbPooKAo/видео.htmlm08s
E3 was 8 months ago and we haven't really got any info on the game since :/
You are not looking hard enough. I've found loads of articles about its progress lol... been doing it for the past 8 years
Imran Pangilinan Absolutely nothing important, though. Just some vague interviews/lies about development that ends with "please be excited."
The fifteen coming line was on point.
Man I got goosebumps. I've been waiting for this game since I was a kid! Around 9 or so! And damn, square you've outdone yourselves. This was nothing what anyone was expecting. You definitely exceeded all of my expectations.
Rest in pieces, Final Fantasy.
Errrrrrr no, I was thinking the same about FF 13 but this looks promising. Provided they, DON'T FUCK IT UP.
But knowing Square Enix, they will find a way.
if the gameplay is exactly like this trailer.... It will be amazing.
TheeFreakiishlyz How soon we forget FFXIII's gameplay trailers. ~__~
TheeFreakiishlyz You mean, fucking amazing awesomeness!
***** The trailer of FF 13 will always be better then this
I hope lightning is in this one.
Pls. No. Enough of Lightning.
Lights my favorite character. Why don't u like her?
Dude_that_likes_Play Stations! Doesn't matter why I don't like her. She's overstayed her welcome in the franchise. Her time is done. Let them move on to a new story.
Well cloud did so and the fan-base was cool with it.
Still got Infamous and Order 1886 to come.
Nothing else comes to mind. Exclusives seem to matter the least this gen (as there are so few good ones)
Dont Forget The Tales series.
There's no way this game is going to suck.
im so sorry
This game is the best ff
@@cxxldxde274 name me a better one i will destroy other games
Couldn't agree more mate, if one dare say FFVII they will get flamed to kingdom come.
God I miss the "magic" of that game...
what would be the point of next gen consoles and advanced technology when all you want to do is have the same old boring ass turn based combat where you watch the characters do everything?
Happily I play as Ashe because I hate Vaan so much
its like Castlevania.
Man that game looks pretty as hell!
Holy nutballs, this game looks freaking dope.
Now here is my worry. They taken a lot of scenes out of the game and episode Duscae happens outside the city during the invasion. I'm worried that the battle in the royal city won't be a part of 15. I'd really hate for that to be so, because doing this scene was my number 1 hope for this game.
+Taru Same. I really hope they keep this part
*sniff*
Can't believe I'm still finding shit about this game after so long.
it would be cool if the cover was just that last part with the characters' faces and the title
slaps with white glove*
ff covers must just be a white background and logo !! :P
could be a cool twist to it if the background was black though.
*()* !
All of these cutscenes better be in the final game.
they will not, everything went into the CG movie, we might get opening and ending cg maybe only.
Top kek
GG
Buying PS4 just for this game.
Never cared much for turn based combat. Its one of the reasons I like Kingdom Hearts over Final Fantasy on the PS2. This game looks perfect though.
The CG of Final Fantasy is always awesome, and you can't deny it
Final Fantasy is back.
Probably going to get some hate for this, but I have been waiting FOREVER for an action-combat ff game. SO PUMPED
clouds finally got some competition.
The way Square acts you'd think it was Lightning.
FF X | X-2 HD, KH 2.5 HD, FF XV, KH III
In that order please.
that's actually the order so rejoice.
More likely March next year as thats been traditional for the last few years with the FF XIII franchise.
and i hope..... FF XV, KH III, FF VII Remake...hehe or FF XVI
FF VII Remake using this engine and action rpg elements...
OMFG I'M THROWING MY MONEY AT THE SCREEN AND NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!!
I KNOW WHY WONT IT WORK
funkey man You're right maybe I need to throw 100's.
DennisCastro100 way ahead of you...
DennisCastro100 No, millions!! hahaha
Try putting your credit card in the disk tray.
June, 2015! This game is coming out June 2015! It was announced at Gamescon!
Nothing has been confirmed yet. Those are just rumors from click-bait websites.
Oh KDramaStars *facepalm*
Demo the the Type0HD game
it feels so long. another year.
The demo is out on March, not June.
finally kingdom hearts like fighting mechanics.
i loved the turn base system but it gets boring
i just wish they would go back to using armor, weapons and trinkets with and xp gaining system, possibly trees now as well as standard level up things like mp/hp str/ag/dex etc
true i miss the old days of feeling good when i finally achieved lvl99
Companies probably want to make something new. I mean put new ideas in use! It is good and it will be a game production experiment. The xp/armor/talend idea has been used for many years now! Time for something new. Plus I consider the meaning of "fan" when someone likes 60% the story and 40% the playstyle. If you really like the idea of talends and staff like that there are many games that can offer u the experience. If you are a fan of FF try it out! Play it till it ends! Learn the story-see the story, even if the playstyle and features are not so good for your gaming taste!
3:14 "The Legends meets its match."
*2 years later at E3 2015*
FF7 REMAKE! THE LEGEND IS BACK!
Yeh man daddy is back!
rob19ny LOL !! No one can match the legend xD
depends! ff7 is the best! but ffxv looks good
faz gassab Yeah i also still put hope on xv to be really good and successful .. But still its better if they make it as standard JRPG game .. Action RPG is nice but it might lack some customization and gameplay that standard JRPG can do .. But still hoping they don't mess this one =)
Lmfao...The way i see it is
The legend gets surpassed but the legend comes back to remind people why it is a legend.
R.I.p stella
+cc ahaha Hello Luna
Billy Brothers you just proved my point...
Dear Square Enix, I was in 8th grade when you released the first trailer of this game. I am now a semester away from graduating from college. That is all.
This will be the game that will hopefully match the greatness of final fantasy 7 as well as the others that revolutionized the series.
This is going to be amazing game to start my PS4 journey! Love FF
Noctis should make a cameo in Kingdom Hearts 3
Agreed.
Hope Cloud is in it again
This game looks soo kool, man I still remember when they announced it back in late 2006...I cant believe its been that long
It would seem that Square Enix is finally listening to the Fans in terms of wanting an open world and ditching the turn based mechanics in favor of real time like their more western counter parts. Now all they have to do is hire someone to write a plot that isn't convoluted and weird. Which judging by this trailer they still need some work to do.
It's Nomura (the guy behind the Kingdom Hearts series). It can't go wrong.
***** I hope you are right because I truly love the FInal Fantasy Franchise and want Square Enix to succeed on this one. Unfortunately, I'll have to reserve judgement on this because I remember feeling the same excitement for the FF13 trailers before it's release. Then when the game actually came out, I could't help think what a convoluted mess of trying to figure out confusing terms like Fal'Cie and L'Cie, It had a long drawn out story that no one cared about, It had a very linear progression of forcing you down a hallway for 40+ hour fighting, it was almost pointless to have a map since there was no way you'd get lost and it had tons of sappy over acting with every character being annoying except for Sahz.
o thank God. I cant wait for this and kingdom hearts 3 they gone be epic
Listen to the fans? I don't remember any fans wanting turn base to leave? I sure as hell didn't
***** agread they thid that with fianl fantasy 13 serires. and its easily there worst
devil my cry its now called final fantasy and final fantasy its now called bravely default
This game seriously looks good
Have we had any info on the fella standing on the right at 2:34? He's standing opposite the old fella that gets a portrait at the end so I'm supposing he's important.
Finally changing something up. I love FF series but the turn based game is getting old. That's what ruined pokemon on X and Y for me. Repetitive gameplay that doesn't change throughout the years. I mean, you don't have to do a hacknslash every game, change it up once in a whole. I loved dissidia it was amazing.
Game of the generation
RIP Stella.
Revisiting this a month and a half from release. It was the first time I was exposed to Final Fantasy XV. I feel so lucky, not having been around since 2006 and suffering through ten years of waiting for this game, haha.
Me too.. I was exposed to FFXV earlier this year. Just right before they held the March Uncovered event, lol..
Is that Ezio at 3:09? o.O
They fucked it all up again.
The world is ready for Square to never do their game right again.
Go back to your roots, turn-based action RPG.
I'm gonna pretend like this game is the best thing to happen to mankind even if I don't like it. For the sake of FFVII
thats actualy a good idea lets all do that xD
Nik Zutshi FFVIII is better :P
ancxxxsold13r i really enjoyed *, but the problem was that squall was an anti social character, which makes it hard to develop a relationship with him.
Wait, I'm new to the series, so I have a question: Would Versus XIII been a continuation of a sub-series, or the start of an entirely new sub-series?
No clue...I'm not sure why they named it versus XIII in the first place, besides the fact that they were in development at the same time. However, none of the Final Fantasies are linked unless they have a number after the roman numeral.
For example: Final Fantasy X-2 or Final Fantasy XIII-2
Ace TheFlame
Oh. Well, thanks for the answer.
***** Ah, thanks. Also, I would get the remaster, but that's only on PS3, and I have an Xbox 360...
LukeMCFC 141 Well...you shouldn't have. They're a lot cheaper now, you could still pick one up. Or if you get a Vita you can play the first ten games in the series on it.
Does anyone know if there will be a English version of the game?
Of course there will be -_-
Eric George Sweet thanks
No dur its going to be in english if its going to be released in the US.
***** Calm the fuck down, are you on your period? It was a question don't get so butthurt.
***** Sure buddy.
This game was announced close to half my age ago...lol
This was announced way back in 2006 when I was 13... Now I am 21
Imran Pangilinan
Same here.
seriously, it's interesting how ff fans are so divided when it comes to the battle - system.
I remember the feeling of my heart exploding when "Versus XIII" turned to "XV".
Wish the demo had more of this system
gameplay change means must buy for me... not a good stand in front of a person and strategize an attack type player
Iv never payed a final fantasy game. This looks like a time to start. The other games I could not play because it did not look visually appealing to me. This looks awesome.
Yeah, I might give this game a chance. I didn't enjoy 13, but this looks kinda promising.
My mistake on the miss spelled word. Ipad always fixes things that doesn't need fixing. *Played*
AmericanBuizel I love final fantasy and jrpgs, but I hated 13 as well.
Daniel Walters Well since this game is being made by the same people who made kingdom hearts series, Then that raises my chances of me getting this game on my xbox one.
AmericanBuizel no one enjoyed 13, trust me
The trailer that brought back hope to all FF Fans....and shattered for some.
"The world we purport to know is ever changing, ending as we speak.....so it must be *for all existance*"
+Shownon
*I can almost smell the game, my man, Shownon.*
Man... what a ride, huh? If I remember correctly, this is the very same trailer when we first conversed with each other about the game. That was E3 2013, now it's 2016 -- the year of FFXV -- It has finally come, eh? :D
+Albino Bob Yes...its been a long journey, a long fight. With every info came either praise, battles or doubt....its been a VERY long ride brother. Soon, we will have the game within our palms...
The Myth..will become real soon enough my man..soon enough.
This looks so fucking *_Awesome!_*. I have never played FF before or never even understood what it is about but I'm definitely looking forward to this game.
play final fantasy X its my favorite or at least look it up
Zan DODD Alright, i will check it out.
zLFOBz Yeah, definitely going to an awesome game!
This + Kingdom Hearts III = jizz in my pants
That hooded man in white almost looked like Eizo from Assassin's Creed.
Please let it be Eizo! I will love you if he becomes the first guest character in a Final Fantasy franchise.
Awesome reference. But Ezio of AC is from the Ubisoft!
This character was revealed before ezio was a thing, way back in 2008.
