i hope final fantasy versus xv is real
epanlauw 99 honestly, that would be square enix literally retconning an entire game which not only has taken a decade of resources to get released, but is still being worked on with dlc updates. Anyone who believes in Versus XV is just lying to themselves. The best we can hope for is that some of the cool aspects of Vesrus get added as new DLC chapters, but don't expect Stella or a new storyline entirely. My biggest hope is to include playable insomnia invasion and true Leviathan fight, but that is already extremely unlikely.

Yeah, but the game must be just released like earlier this year or something. Nomura was working on 3 different games at once, and keep changing the concepts here and there in this game.

Never saw this trailer before but after playing the game and seeing it, I felt betrayed. The story in this trailer looks more promising then the one we got in the game.........

@@mynamablegg8707 They didn't get rid of him, he left to work on Kingdom Hearts 3. He was doing both at the same time, but it was just too much work for him. He made a choice and we have to live with the consequences.
Nomura seems to be planning on reviving the original versus XIII within Kingdom Hearts, there are noticeable similarities on the Re:Mind DLC of KH3

I can get over Stella, but I have NO IDEA why they would take out the invasion scene. From the looks of this, it was so well directed, and would have been a much more gripping start to the game than Noctis and crew pushing a car. It's one of the biggest plot points in the game, and they decided to just let you hear it over the radio.

That's because Tabata wanted to make a single game and explore the world of FFXV through a movie and an anime series . Nomura wanted to make sequels , like FFXV-2 ,and that stuff ! :) feel grateful

QQ Because Insomnia would be too big to be a part of an open world game. Just how many tall buildings they have to make to be accessible and in the end most of them are destroyed.. That's one big reason among others.

It was. Just rearranged. The story from the trailer is changed to characters from Kingsglaive. The scenes with Leviathan were moved to Altissia.

lol NOTHING in this trailer was in this game. it doesnt matter if there was still a leviathan. what we got was pales greatly in comparison to this. instead of supposedly commandeering through several corridors in a building in altissia, all we got were 3 areas with like 10 enemies in total, then skip to the leviathan fight which you could not possibly lose. and yeah, as far as i remember kingsglaive ISNT in the game.

Oh boy. What is it about this version of the game that appeals to me so much more than the version we've been seeing now? Everything just feels so much better here. From the action, the characters, the story, the designs, all of it. How much has been changed?

The entire scene with the invasion is taking place without Noctis. It's stuff like this that has been changed. All these things we were all stoked to see firsthand, that is confirmed gone by the director

Oh look, this is the game we DIDN'T get.
I remember watching this trailer and being so hyped about it. When I bought and finished the game I was like "I have the feeling that I didn't see some scenes from the trailer". Most of the scenes in this trailer don't exist. I love this game but I would love to see some of these scenes cause they were uber cool! Like the invasion. Still such a great game

noctis would have died if he was in insomnia because ardyn is trying to corrupt noctis to take the astrals for him.. and noctis does eventually get corrupted but i think the entire invasion scenario is in fact in the game during regis' omen vision.. like...
How does it feel knowing that we got KINGSGLAIVE instead of this being part of the game/story? Woohoo...
Really really terrible, they shouldn't have changed the story/director or the main heroine, I don't know if Stella was the main heroine or main antagonist in Nomura’s original plans of a hamlet story.

instead of giving us 80+side quest i would have preferred that combat on the trailer and more of those epic fights on the hallway and fighting on the side of the building
As they always are I don't know why they waste their time making them.
Jrpgs should always make the full game 40+ hours without sidequests and completely linear as a minimum. Then if they want, add open world and side quests later.

This and the FFXIII International trailer are, in my opinion, the two greatest video game trailers of all time. Square can really make some badass trailers

That is always a bad idea. Nomura has one thing fro him, fluid varied gameplay (like seen here) Tabata is a grandpa and makes everything to easy, eliminating any long term fun.
if they didnt, i doubt we would be seeing this game anytime soon, nomura would be working on 3 games at once if he stayed.
That's what happens when you switch directors mid-development. Things are going to not be as the original director intended. I would have loved to play Nomura's version but this was really the only way this was going to come out this year.
I wonder what the final game would have been like if Nomura had stayed on as Director. Not that It's bad now, I love FFXV, but I'm curious as to what changed when the switch happened.

@Daiyaan Slamang if it's the case, why he dumbed down the game even further? This one was actually quite promising. The final result was just super duper awful. I played it briefly up to chapter 10 but I decided to watch a let's play, and even watching the let's play was an awful experience because the story is so incoherent, and my expectations (based on the existing trailers) with the actual game was so different. RIP final fantasy.
@@eriol33 the original director Tetsuya Nomura spent near 8 years spinning his wheels and making no progress. Square is a company and need to get the game out the door. Nomura was kicked off and replaced with Tabata who had to somehow organize the mess of ideas Nomura left and get the entirely unmotivated team to come together and put out a game in a pretty short amount of time considering everything Nomura had promised. Coupled with Square insisting they use an incredibly finicky new engine and a huge crunch on development time, they just couldnt add in everything they wanted. A large portion of the story had to be scrapped because it conflicted with what had been shown by Nomura or they just didnt have time to make it fit into the new streamlined narrative.

@@eriol33 Lol all of this isn't even gameplay, the only part that's actual gameplay is the insomnia area combat, the rest is pre-rendered animations and cutscenes, how could you not tell? Lol look at it. Real video games don't even animate half as much as what's in this trailer.
@@eriol33 You could also tell that the insomnia area is the only actual gameplay because the frame rate is chugging hard, the game engine could barely keep up with the actions the game was required to do.
I still keep watching this trailer despite the game being out, hoping that one day I can play the version of the game that Nomura intended us to. This footage and overall trailer is still the best thing about FFXV. The final game is good but it's nowhere near the quality this trailer teased it to be. Plus, none of this content is even in the game. Very sad.
The ending was great and made me go 'ohhhh so that's what it meant' lol. Makes total sense now. I'm almost certain that's how Nomura intended it to end.

Dominic Sawicki me too :/ its incredibly widespread that fans really feel screwed over by SquareEnix... we want the story to be completed, the unfinished areas to be completed, the cut content like everything in this video to be added back in. I think we're split though when it comes to Versus XIII. half want that game back, the other half want XV to be completed with story, cutscenes, etc, etc. its so depressing. I can't even bring myself to play the game again after beating it because of the incompleteness of it.
You're better off looking forward to the PC Version. Since it's going to support mods, I'm sure fans will be recreate everything that was shown in the trailers.

In an alternate reality, this game actually came out.
I just finished Final Fantasy XV and none of those scenes are in the game. There is a conflict in Altissia but the battle itself has almost no resemblance to this trailer. I was extremely hyped for this part of the game (I thought the game would be this x 10 ) but it's a really unique event that you won't find again in the game... :(
Yea, I was disappointed when a bunch of scenes shown in these trailers were not in the game wtf? Felt like Square Enix spent all this time reworking the story and cutting out these things. Such a shame :(
I fully expected it when they switched to their new engine. The moral is never trust an E3 trailer. This might as well have been prerendered. It certainly didn't feel like practical gameplay.

There will.. well sort of. Nomura hasn't given up on it either and is bringing his versus vision into Kingdom Hearts 4 as it seems!

I love coming back to this trailer just for the part. I remember hopping out of my seat and screaming when this happened! Up until then, everyone thought FFXV was going to be Agni's Philosophy (which Square kept insisting wouldn't be a game but still lol)
As soon as the Versus XIII logo came up, I remember thinking "yes! They didn't forget about us!" As soon as it transformed into XV, I screamed and cried.
I was hyped, but whoever wrote the line "for the 15th coming", should he fired, because that was wack on all levels. It could have been far better written for the reveal.
2022 and I’m still stuck here.
I can understand the gameplay parts being hard to pull off in the actual game, but I wish they could've kept some of these cgi cutscenes. So much work was put into them.
To think a department of Squeenix wasted 100s of hours editing and rendering these scenes at 20K resolution and downscaled them to 720p for RUclips and never using them again would be silly. I'm sure there's multiple demos in SE's database somewhere of this version. It just takes time, patience, and a developer to compile it onto a Disc and leak it. Maybe one day, when Square is out of business. Which I don't see happening sadly.

Man Hajime Tabata neutered this game, while 15 is still a good game, Tetsuya Nomura's Final Fantasy 15 looks superior when it comes to story and action pieces. The whole Etro/death worship and slight Yakuza style kingdom made Lucis a much more interesting place and the old design of the king was very unique and modern and I also prefer what they were doing with Stella over Lunafreya's more genetic role, overall it feels like we got the lesser game out of the lesser director.

Couldn't agree more, the story in this game was seriously lacking. I finished in 20 hours. Took me like 2 days, and I was expecting to take a week to finish. Lunafreya had such a small role in the game despite being a main focus in their advertising campaign, but I like the look of her character over Stella's.

Wow I don't typically comment on things but this is completely false. Nomura is the reason anything is bad in this game. Look up the development. Nomura literally wanted to turn this game into a MUSICAL. I can't even make that up. Seriously. Nomura, in the time he was developing the game, had made 35 percent of it at the release of this trailer. They fired him because he had no idea what he was doing.
The musical thing was literally a joke from a satire site. And how do you explain his directorial position on Final Fantasy VII Remake and continued work on Kingdom Hearts 3, which are their two biggest forthcoming Japanese games, if he was the problem with this games development the whole time? I'd comment on the flawed logic of your post, but that would insinuate that it has any logic at all.

the thing that pains me the most is seeing that collage of the characters like they actually have some meaning in the story but half of them says few lines through the game. It looks so intriguing here and the game is so short and straightforward. such a let down

@@cloudsopowera6248 During an interview with Tabata, he said the team couldn't include the invasion of Insomnia in the game due to time constraints that's why a movie was produced to showcase that.

While I agree the original Leviathan scene was grittier and more edgy,
I can not fault what we got. It was good. Leviathan was super pissed, and it played great.
Luminous engine had limitations, as well as coorporation deadlines.

Square Enix said that they will remake VII if there will be a Final Fantasy as good as VII. So actually Square Enix announced the FF VII remake 2013 because they are confident about the succes of XV.

+Jonét Harry Yes, officially. What I mean is, that people wanted the remake so bad and SE many times said, that there has to be another Final Fantasy title as successful/good as VII (legend) was. Now in this trailer they hinted the confidence of XV beeing a great game. So great, that production of VIIR has begun.

Nomura had something truly special here. We could have had this instead of what we got. I still love ff15, but this trailer hits so much harder than anything the game had to offer.

My dream is to see what this game should have been... Just do a remake of this game with Versus content and Nomura as director and everyone will be happy with this. Still feeling betrayed.
FF XV trailers have more story than the entire FF XV's cutscenes. Instead of writing a coherent story, Tabata filled this game with 300+ fetch quests and slap the name of FF XV. The final product barely resembles what we have ever seen in the trailers.
Nomura deciding to bring this back through kingdom hearts is one of the craziest moves i've ever seen. But im entirely down to see what happens.
He said he wanted to do kingdom hearts 4 or a verum rex game. But decided with kingdom hearts 4. We will probably get it after kingdom hearts 4.

Rino Citarella Well, everything after E3 2013(Tabata era trailers) was misleading since it wasn't Versus. We(those who followed the game closely) knew the game wasn't the same once Nomura left so all hype was dead from there. lol That was obvious when the game was re-revealed at TGS 2014. Tabata even stated during the June 2015 ATR that XV and Versus(E3 2013 and prior) are not the same game. All that was left was to play a bad game to see that we were right.
Note: Not saying this as if you don't know. Just saying to make a point. lol
rob19ny This wasn't a good game. Sure the game play was okay but as a Final Fantasy title the story has taken a massive back seat. It annoys me that this is the direction SquareEnix has been taking to fulfil the attention span of people that don't care for story and characters who just want a hack and slash with no strategy. I'll stick to my older FF titles before ever I go back to this!

Realz786 The old stories are great but not the gameplay man. Turn based is dead. Plus action combat requires more strategy than turn based which you only have to spam the attack button.

I'm sorry but anything you say to me now will become void with your silly comment on "mashing one button" (this wouldn't get you far in any of the older FF games).
I can't Believe it's been more than 3 years since I saw this trailer, and the game is almost upon us.
Too bad it won't be like anything you saw in this trailer. The story's been rewritten so the main cast is outside of the city during the invasion. Less exciting and this smooth gameplay was tossed aside for a more "realistic" and slow/laggy gameplay.
How do you know that anything we saw in this trailer won't be in the game?
+Keeperofthemoon The invasion is in the Kingsglaive movie, and Nocts was outside the city during it.
some of it wont, simply due to the story have been rewritten and that part were in the old franchise versus, not XV, so thats the reason you can call these things.. Stella is out, one of the situations you see have played out in the movie, and even the king looks different. So with what we have i say around 50-70 procent of that we saw is not going to happen, though i have paid for this game since 2011, i will say this, i would rather have had the old story line, but i see the promise in this as a game aswell, but i personaly have lost a quite amount of respect for Square Enix, after this launch. And that is due to the obvious marketing and the failing of said marketing, made this game quite wierd to look forward to, but i have looked forward to this game since the leek ten years ago, and the dark universe is not the same, as the one we have in the current FFXV..
I have seen the movie and it is by any strech a good movie, and an awesome animation picture. I now have more respect for the game, but i still miss that feel, the old versus had..
The part with Leviathan is still in. It's been in majority of the trailers released recently. The city part got cut, as that's Insomnia.
Coming back to this now is just depressing

This trailer is like a phantom pain. All the time I spent playing XV I was looking for at least a drop of something that was promised here but was never in the released game.
I was so looking forward to jumping over that table in the actual game.
