“Omen,” a short CG movie by Digic Pictures, inspired by FINAL FANTASY XV.
A rapidly shifting world, enemies that appear endlessly, gradual loss of abilities…
And a madness that brings harm to the beloved fiancée.
This short movie, which can only be described as a nightmare for the struggling Noctis, is a collaboration between FINAL FANTASY XV and Digic Pictures, the world renown 3D animation studio that also took part in the creation of KINGSGLAIVE FINAL FANTASY XV.
This beautiful yet violent motion picture inspired by the world and story of FINAL FANTASY depicts an “omen” for Noctis’ father, King Regis, of a catastrophic future that must be avoided.

this was actually meant to be an extension of the main game. What you see here was fully intended to be a part of the game but due to the change of team and time limits, they scrapped a lot of this and just went with what you see today. Very unfortunate. FF15 had a lot of potential and in my opinion was planned to be a masterpiece.

Fun fact: this was an alternate timeline, like what we got with the ignis dlc and DotF novel. Another fun fact: Noctis and Luna had more interaction time (as adults) with each other in this than in the entire game.

"omen"... king regis's dream. from living a regular life, driving down the road and noctis focusing on what is ahead of him- a typical life- only to be drawn away by his calling, led to the sand dunes of what remained of what was once watery altissia after the hydreaen was slain, to the imperial occupied trains and the imperial occupied quarry. noctis fighting through imperial bases full of battery soldiers, all because of the pryna- which the golden eyes and black fur symbolizes as ardyn leading noctis astray in the form of pryna- ardyn was the one pulling the strings behind all of ffxv, just as he was in this omen in the form of a dog. it foretold luna's death, in which noctis felt heavily responsible. this omen told regis what was coming- and he sent noctis with the crownsguard away from insomnia in an attempt to save him from that premonition, hoping he would be protected. hence, "may the gods forgive me", regis attempted to defy fate and play the hand he was dealt as best he could to protect his son, since he was forced to surrender insomnia anyways. so yes, of course this OMEN isnt what we played. it was a dream the king had before the entire game started.
Did you play the dlc , ardyn literally was the nicest dude in the game. Somnus literally screwed him over. And bahamut was pulling all the strings, making ardyn live so that the chosen king could arrive to his fate
Ali Hamza yeah i played the dlc. bahamut told aera what the "prophecy" was, aera told somnus, somnus acted on it, but aera felt guilty for telling somnus the fate of the gods and tried to defend ardyn from that death, which cost her her own life. ardyn was enraged by somnus for it, somnus then locked away the corrupted ardyn- adagium- founded his kingdom, and ardyn was the one who murdered innocents, was set on killing noctis, etc. all because of this grudge he had on his brother. frankly the gods are to blame, but ardyn couldve chosen at any time to realize noct and regis were not at all guilty of what somnus did, and somnus isnt guilty because its what the gods planned, etc..... noctis is as guilty for what happened to ardyn as ardyn is- just because they are related to somnus. and again- it was bahamuts plan!!! somnus simply acted on it after aera told him, even though she wasnt supposed to!!! i feel like i explained in circles but- hope that makes sense

@@AliHamza-sv4ni But Ardyn didn't have to- he was literally told that he was going to end up doing that, and he could have rejected that fate somewhere along the line and not have helped the empire, not have tried to hurt noctis, not spread the scourge, etc. All of it was fueled by his hatred towards his brother even down to the point he was beating regis just so he'd summon somnus, and when somnus did show up, ardyn only wanted to kill him.. again.. So it shows yes, while bahamut orchestrated this, Ardyn had free will enough to choose who he attacked, or hurt no one at all. But yes, all in all, this was Bahamut's pointless plan. A game for the gods, i suppose.

True, unfinished rushed game :( .. and they cancelled true ending and rest of the story later on in SP2 .. welp i enjoyed it..but it was clear it wasnt finished at all.

It's not the story. it's just a small "what if.." short movie
Ya know, since this is showing us what would happen when Noct is alone, kinda crazy how scary he can be when pushed backed into a corner by himself and lets not forget that he has the GREATSWORD OF THE TALL telling us he went through that dungeon and fought the boss just to get the Royal arm by himself, crazy.
Just shows you that he is pretty overpowered if pushed to the limit, but you'd learn that when you are in the end of the game

Imagine if instead of it being released as a short CG, they had it open with this and then King Regis waking up, title screen then plays. And then subsequently sending Noctis on a journey. That would be Hella epic.
TRAILER EXPLANATION (no spoilers):
Regis was sending Noctis away to be with Lunafreya from fear that the Niflheim Empire was plotting something. This trailer is the vision (or omen) King Regis experienced, which caused him to decide Noctis's friends should go with him to get the princess. He initiated this before or off screen during the movie (Kingsglaive), which is why he was surprised to see the Princess Lunafreya in the capitol city Insomnia, since she was supposed to rendezvous with Noctis and friends.
I'm interested in seeing who that wolf represents, it appears to be a friend or someone who makes Noctis believe he is a friend or guide that ends up betraying him, but that's pure speculation on my end.
I think he was sent away off-screen since in the beginning of the game, we see Drautos as well. On another note, we have seen Ravus with the symbol of fenrir (a wolf) on his shoulder plate during the 2013 trailer.

Silly Noctis, if you see a dog on the side of the road you want to talk to, you can apply your brakes like a normal person. You don't have to flip your car over and destroy it.

4/5 years late. And every time I watch this, I just feel how intense it is STILL all these years.

One of the best trailers I've seen in a long time. Didn't expect this from a Final Fantasy game. Although it reminds me somewhat of Final Fantasy VIII weird moments

This cinematic not only foreshadowed Lunafreya's death in the game, but it's also a parallel of Ardyn's story. The chosen King turned evil after the death of the Oracle who was also his beloved. I may be reading into this too much but still

People praise Pixar for having such "amazing" animation, but nothing they have done has ever come to this. This looks breathtaking. Will the game be this good? We don't know for sure, but this video still is a masterpiece.
You are right. Unfortunately the game passed a tragedy through its making and all the trailers we saw are the core idea that never got used.

The rewind & the dog not being Pryna reveals Noct has been following a path he thinks is right but is actually a path of darkness all along so the versus Shakespearean quote "nothing is either good or bad" remains relevant. The omen foreshadows something sinister is at work, Noct's struggle & loss of power. Not to say that what happens in the trailer will necessarily happen in-game but it is something to be overcome; i.e. dark Noctis.
I thought that the Pryna turning out to be a hellhound represented that someone close to him has been leading him (and by proxy Luna) down a wrong path

Well, some of these things happened, but not in the same way we see them here, or in the same order.
Luna dies, Tenebrae is destroyed, the Regalia is destroyed, and Noctis ends up alone and surrounded by enemies without his powers. But his friends are with him, and his father is with him in spirit (The Ring of the Lucii and The Sword of the Father), so the worst possible future is avoided, even though things still ended up pretty bad.
This is basically saying what would happen to Noctis if he were to travel on his own.

2:32-2:34 I just noticed that luna and the dark boi was in the mirror reflection, when noctis and the white boi dived in to it.
I say this as a massive fan - it promised so much yet delivered so little from what we saw.
They threw a piece of the cinematic into the game without context as if to tell us to keep dreaming.
I love the story we got, but it’s still pretty interesting to think about how the game could’ve gone had we been alone as Noctis. Considering that seems to be the theme of this trailer
Well, clearly Noctis falls to the darkness here.... so.... However, I am really annoy that square never finished the second set of DLC with probably a third of fourth alternative ending/s.

This is the omen Regis saw if Noctis would have gone alone, that's why he was adamant about Noctis having company for his journey.

I have interpreted this as a vision that King Regis had about his son and what could happen to Noctis if he had no guidance or support from people he trusted. However, King Regis apologizing for what he must do implicates that he may have used the power of the Crystal to alter history; possibly dooming everyone

The Dawn of the Future totally should've been a (FFXV-2) movie trilogy or something. There's so much more to FFXV than people know.
This seems to be originally conceived as a trailer for Versus XIII
It turned out to be 4 Dudes, 1 Car.

Noctis's destiny was set the moment he was put behind the wheel. Fool can't even drive without crashing xD
Imagine if this game is produced properly. The current game is already pretty immersive, if this was properly done then i'm sure it could leave a life time impression. How unfortunate, if only we waited 15 instead of 10 years.
After watching, then playing Episode Ardyn, I definitely have a different perspective in how, whom I assume is Bahamut, talks to Regis in regards to how all must take responsibility. We don't really see Bahamut take responsibility for what happens to Ardyn, and pretty much has someone else do the dirty work for him.

Technically, the OMEN trailer *did* happen. FFXV did keep a lot of things from Versus. Not the things we would've guessed. Such as the Alternate timelines. Technically yes, the ending of FFXV is canon, but so is the ending of Episode Ignis and DoF.
