Soken's amazing. Too early to say if he'll surpass Uematsu, but Soken's strength is composing new music in his own style that pays tribute to the lineage of FF music through leitmotif. And it still feels like Final Fantasy music even though his style's quite different from Uematsu's. You'll catch the Prelude arpeggio snuck in all over the place (eg Flow from FFXIV), and I'm pretty sure the crescendo that builds at around 0:55 in this trailer is a direct homage to the FFVI startup menu.
Just saddens me the series has evolved away from its origins. For me the swansong of the series was FFIX, truly a masterpiece. Closely followed by VI and VII.

FF1-3, then FF4-6, then FF7-FF9, then FF10-12, FF13 & 14, then modern era FF15 and FF16. They have to keep pushing the envelope in terms of graphics and mechanics. Old turn based they haven't managed to make exciting and interesting enough for a next gen game. I don't think it would sell.

ngl, eikon fights are great and they gave me exactly that over-the-top feeling that made me love Asura's Wrath (despite that game's shortcomings) and yeah, it's definitely standing up to other great FF games in terms of epicness

From my observation, Square Enix is all about innovation! FF16 and FFR are products of innovation! Let's go back to playing games for fun. I love both of these titles!!!!

Finished the game a few days ago now IDK what to do with my life. Final Fantasy games just hit different, it's always a special occasion. Really hope it wins in a category for this year's Game Awards.
I mean clive is essentially an anomaly that changes how the way of life has been for 1000 years. He wants to destroy all the crystals, that would be like someone wanting to dry up all the Oil in the world. People would fight back and hate you for it.
After finishing the game, this will go down as the most epic and visually stunning Final Fantasy installment created so far. That magnificent Bahamut fight alone is GOTY material and Dion is easily one of the most GOATed characters in the franchise.

Some of these storylines hit a bit too hard for me (I'm still hurt by FFX and other games lol), and I'm not bothered by mature games with blood, gore, etc. But some of the character stories in FF games can have some pretty heavy themes. FFX especially, the implications of who your main character is is disturbing and sad.

As much as i would love that, its probably not going to be 16, even if it is my GOTY and yours. Spiderman 2, Tears of the kingdom etc will have a much easier time winning.
@@SirSabzZa I do commend your realistic outlook. FF and LoZ are both arguably well-known. I think we are going to get an amazing FF game that will restore some faith in the series. However, I believe what makes LoZ more of a contender is just simply the merit behind its titles. FF has been very shakey with its reception amongst gamers while LoZ had kept a general positive reception overall.
As a quick note, what they showed is the asian box design. The rest of the world gets a different one for 'reasons' I guess. Edit: disregard that. I just fact checked myself and this is the international one. Japan has a different one.

Every time I hear the Main Theme of Final Fantasy it gives me goosebumps. Such an incredible trailer. Yoshida saying that "if life has been hard for you, this is the game for you" is already tugging at my heartstrings. I'm ready for the sixteenth chapter of Final Fantasy. Even hearing "We don't need your salvation. We'll save ourselves. And we'll do it on our own terms" sends chills down my 31 year old spine. I've been following Final Fantasy since I was a teenager playing the classics on GBA. I'M READY TO CRY!
Iam a huge final fantasy Fan, for me the game is a way of life a right of passage, no other game makes me feel as tho iam in another world, the music is so beautifuly intertwined into the stoy, "Final Fantasy is a masterpiece"❤❤❤
Seeing final fantasy go in this style. I never been so hype for a final fantasy.....ever. Not that i hate the series. but seeing this go back to the medieval setting and a bloodier and gritty tone feel epic.

Got a Final Fantasy VI feeling watching this trailer, can explain why...but it's beautiful!
I hope this is that epic...FFVI is criminally underrated
Every time I hear the Main Theme of Final Fantasy it gives me goosebumps. Such an incredible trailer. Yoshida saying that "if life has been hard for you, this is the game for you" is already tugging at my heartstrings. I'm ready for the sixteenth chapter of Final Fantasy.
Even hearing "We don't need your salvation. We'll save ourselves. And we'll do it on our own terms" sends chills down my 31 year old spine.
I've been following Final Fantasy since I was a teenager playing the classics on GBA. I'M READY TO CRY!

Iam a huge final fantasy Fan, for me the game is a way of life a right of passage, no other game makes me feel as tho iam in another world, the music is so beautifuly intertwined into the stoy, "Final Fantasy is a masterpiece"❤❤❤
Seeing final fantasy go in this style. I never been so hype for a final fantasy.....ever. Not that i hate the series. but seeing this go back to the medieval setting and a bloodier and gritty tone feel epic.

@@KVR020 That's still an RPG! You are confusing turn based to mean RPG. Turn based doesn't mean RPG. RPG is a genre, turn based is a mechanic.
Sadly it's not a RPG at all, reason why i'm avoiding it. The combat is basically a copy of dmc.
This is just so incredible Final Fantasy has really come a long way

@@pandaeyezfeel like SQUARE have already peaked, I dont wanna say this but the world is now hungry for open world games... the fact this is linear hopefully wont share the same fate as FF13... the only thing thatd pulling them up is 7 REMAKE cause that game has a cult following...
@@erickreyes7902 I agree on the ff7 REMAKE, it has come to the point that the game revolts me, I mean I liked sure, but now its just enough...
As for ff16 being linear I acutally enjoyed 13 soooo, works for me
still have never played a Final Fantasy game. played my buddys copy of 15 for a few minutes, but it doesn't really count. I think this will be the game I finally give a chance. The fast-paced combat looks like so much fun.

If you mean FF7 remake, there was millions literally beggin for it to happen. Sure it's not exactly a remake but it was phenomenal and very well received and sold over 3.5million copies in 3 days. some vocal minority ff7 purists will yell from rooftops and try convince otherwise but they are easily ignored when you look at facts

@@Frog89mad I think he means because this year 2 of the best games so far have been remakes, and mgs3 has one coming soon too. Not ff7 remake.
This is the literally the most ambitious final fantasy and its AMAZING how it has no development issues unlike XV

Yeah I've been meh with FF since 9, and even the previous trailers for this one were a bit meh, but this one was quite a bit better than previous trailers so I'm feeling some hype.
It puts FF7R to shame if I'm being honest.

After being let down by 13 and 15, 16 has restored my faith in the franchise. It was amazing, and quite possibly my new favourite FF.
