This movie is criminally underrated. I don’t care what the ratings are, I loved it. The cgi is amazing and the main character is immediately likeable. Voice acting is really good too. Seriously, if you haven’t watched this, you’re missing out.
I just finished watching this and I still haven't played the main game but this movie does get me hooked up to Final Fantasy XV. I don't care what the reviews say, for me, this is a great introduction to FFXV. Great graphics and story 👍👍

Some of my friends who didn't know anything about FFXV(though they have played some FF before) were confused as hell. Also, FF fans are known for super bias anyway. Anything that has FF name on it is great no matter what.

the game should've been opened like this, with Luna or King Regis telling the background of the lore. Really, blind gamers wouldn't understand the whole Lucis vs Niffleheim and the power of the Crystal if they went to the game without watching the movie
In game that uses MP. Using all your MP puts you in "stasis" slowing you down IMMENSELY. It's better to just keep running normally and save the warp stuff for fighting
It’s not that great of a movie. Other than the fantastic visuals and action scenes, the story and plot are jumbled as hell unless you already played through FF15. It shouldn’t be a requirement to play through a 30+ long hour game to fully enjoy a movie derived from it: otherwise you’re appealing to a very small niche of the population and won’t produce profits outside of that.
Watching this in 720p is a crime. This movie is way too beautiful. Also, all the people saying "I dOn'T uNdErStAnD tHe StOrY". Stop watching Marvels and use your brain. The bad guys are trying to invade the good guys. Good guys are protected by a magic shield maintened by the king. Duh.
The way the music swells in the opening when Niflheim's forces land in Tenebrae is incredible. It's one of those moments I can't help but rewatch several times before continuing.
After VII I definitely think XV gets in second place as my favorite in the series such an amazing story and game/movie in fact I preferred the Kingsglaive film over Advent Children!

I had to watch this movie 5 times to fully understand every little plot detail and dialog meaning but it was freaking amazing. My favourite movie of 2016 and I haven't even played any of FF games.

"Empowered by the magic of their sovereign", judging by this and the 4th anime just released, their magic is quite literally "loaned". Only Regis, Royal buddies and the glaives have this power which includes the teleporting and such. But at a cost to which you'll also notice in the 4th anime that that same power is killing them slowly. Also why Regis has a cane. Just a speculation, tell me if I'm wrong...
World's lore and logic's like upgraded version of Type-0. Instead the god-like power that the divine could grant to any number of l'cie, These royal could grant part of his power to chosen others. But in the end he's just a mortal with many limits.
It's not the power per se that's killing anyone. It's the strain of maintaining the wall that's killing King Regis slowly. Having the magic isn't an issue, using such a large amount of it constantly, is.

Only one crystal in the world is with Lucid where focus using crystal just for magic. So if Niflheim got the crystal again, There will be no crystal anymore.

A military army taking over everything, never had that before in a Final Fantasy game. An all powerful crystal keeping balance also, Square-Enix just full of new ideas.
yeah and chocobos, behemoths, magitek, royalty, mythology, esotericism...when will games sharing a title stop sharing a core theme? metal gear games always have metal gear! and PMCs and war...pssh, unbelievable. assassin's creed, always fighting for freedom and looking for truth. resident evil games...always zombies!! lol, final fantasy games may take place in different universes, but they share a title for a reason - they tell parallel storiesl based on actual esoteric writings, some really ancient like the Sepher Yetzirah or the Vedas, others like Edward Lytton Bulwer's The Coming Race. otherwise they'd be completely different games with completely different titles. that said, they have changed it up several times. crystals usually represent what alchemists called "prima matra/materia", in FF7 they had materia. one of the core themes that make Final fantasy, a final fantasy, is world war 2 and nazi occultism (Vril).

Of course, it's so deeply wrapped in the anime fantasy cloak that no one sees it unless they are well read or into the same topics, and in the end it is meant for entertainment, nothing more. but sometimes when you want to be entertained, you want that material to relate to your personal interests. I swear, out of all the FF games, FF7 was the most blatant, and no character is more blatantly the representation of man's search for godhood by researching his ancient past than Sephiroth.

Meh, literally been hyping for this game for about 10 years as I was already sold from the first trailer. And I'm a pc player, meaning delay or not, its at the very LEAST still 2 years of waiting for me! Might not be very impressive as a discipline for waiting, but its been a long while ether way.
Chances are if you wait until it's released on PC it will be spoiled by some troll. Getting this day 1 and avoiding online until it's beat. Will be uploading some helpful vids if and when i can depending on what the trophy list is like and if they give out early copies to more popular channels.
Turtle Hermit WaspInatoR Nah, won't happen, I learned to build up resistance against that kind of thing thanks to previous games like dissidia, (also finding out about the game literally a full year prior to release) whenever I see a vid or comment about it, I just stop watching/reading and skip it, self control is important :) the hardest part of course is waiting for the actual pc release. due to the news that the dev's said they want to rebuild the entire game from scratch for a pc port (I whole hardheartedly disagree, azide from perhaps a performance boost and correct key mappings I don't need anything more, I want all platform versions to be as equal as possible)
Magic vs the machines and monsters. Amazing battle! The crystal usually carries magical powers. And the empire called Nifelheim, wants it bad. So they attack Insomnia, the great King's castle of Lucis. But the crystal only ollows the chosen Kings of Lucis, by wearing the ring which summons all Lords of Insomia. It all make sense.
4:45 LOL I just rewatched this scene now and this part where she takes off her hood is actually a game mechanic in the game. Her hood equipped must've given her +500 HP and -400 MAGIC
Senpai Spook Well Final Fantasy is like having Lewis Carroll, Grimms Brother, Hans Christian Andersen, and George Lucas sit together and make a video game with anime style.
Amazingly produced and executed. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!! The face modeling detail and animation alone is impeccable. Only one minor complaint based on what I see, the giant insects look like tweaked models from Starship Troopers.

***** O don't worry about that, lots of monsters get recycled, I remember also seeing a Coeurl, same as they look in final fantasy X lots of other monster's also get used in other games, hope FFXV has Tonberry's FFXV and VII are not connected directly, tough if Dissidia is Canon, they are the same world, just billions of billions years later after Shinryu destroyed it all and then remade it (supposed endless cycle of making a new world, experimenting by putting good vs evil, destroy it after everything is done and make it anew, explaining why every final fantasy is set in a different world, yet still has some things here and there that are the same)
Well Ultima Weapon appears in many games starting with FFVI, this is nothing new really. I'm actually surprised it took them this long to make some other Weapon reappear.

I watched this and its pretty awesome, definitely better than advent children. The animation is amazing, characters are likeable, and the story is great. My only complain is the action sequences. Some of them are great, but some are poorly edited and a complete mess because there are too many cuts and cameraworks, makes it difficult to keep up with the fight scenes. But overall great movie, cant wait for the game
I want to love this. The visuals are beautiful, the soundtrack is superb but both do not marry as I would imagine. Lip sync is out, I can see a large piece of machinery crash to the ground but hear no impact. Audio to visual is misaligned quite considerably and fear this will have an impact on the overall experience. Please please please address this issue. This is super close to being something extremely special.

I love the fact its Brit English instead of American for the monologue. It exudes royalty which fits perfectly with the scenes. While the rest of the fight scenes are American. :D Looking forward to the movie release. /thumbs-up.
I've just recently watched the movie again! Having a Kingsglaive FFXV: Watch Party really gave me some time to reflect on this movie. Yes, it's underrated but also tragically misunderstood too. I'm happy to see people paying respects to this movie, especially Nyx Ulric and his Fallen Heroes. RIP. 10/10!
+Luisito not really fast but everytime they teleport in the movie there are a lot of dust like effects specially near the ending fight scene. i can't even see a thing they move too fast and that dust thing is in the way. plus to make things worse the setting was too dark you don't even know who's who.
Guys, As a guy who watched this in Singapore and Malaysia (already screening here), I recommend you guys to watch it once it is out in the state. The scale is really breathtaking. And do watch it until the end of the credit. As there is an Easter Egg there. Nyx reminded me of someone at FF7.
This was such an awesome movie. The main hero's sacrifice at the end was very touching. Plus, I couldn't tell at all that it was voiced by the sidekick in Breaking Bad.
Wow 12 Minutes and those were quite something. Sorry to complain, but was it too much to ask to release a 1080p or even 4k version? This movie is supposed to sell with amazing visuals (which given ima pretty blown away) yet your marketing clip is 720p maximum. Still super psyched about this, looks fantastic.
Especially on RUclips where the bitrate allowed is heavily affect by the resolution option you pick. Even if it's just at 720p natively, uploading a version where the 1080p option is available would increase the bitrate a bunch, and bitrate is often more important for clarity (especially during scenes with lots of or fast motion) than pure resolution is.
In case anyone is planning to watch but still haven't done so: 9:40 - 9:46 shows how most of the action scenes in this movie take place, so if you find this section disorienting, then you'll probably find yourself lost during most of the fight scenes. If it doesn't give you any problems though, then the fight scenes should turn out pretty good for you.
I just finish this movie and I can honestly say it's one of the dopest anime movie base off of a game I ever seen. I see why this game is so hype I just brought it from watching the movie!!!

Only Regis, Royal buddies and the glaives have this power which includes the teleporting and such. But at a cost to which you'll also notice in the 4th anime that that same power is killing them slowly. Also why Regis has a cane. Just a speculation, tell me if I'm wrong...
World's lore and logic's like upgraded version of Type-0. Instead the god-like power that the divine could grant to any number of l'cie, These royal could grant part of his power to chosen others. But in the end he's just a mortal with many limits.

Only one crystal in the world is with Lucid where focus using crystal just for magic. So if Niflheim got the crystal again, There will be no crystal anymore.

lol, final fantasy games may take place in different universes, but they share a title for a reason - they tell parallel storiesl based on actual esoteric writings, some really ancient like the Sepher Yetzirah or the Vedas, others like Edward Lytton Bulwer's The Coming Race. otherwise they'd be completely different games with completely different titles. that said, they have changed it up several times. crystals usually represent what alchemists called "prima matra/materia", in FF7 they had materia. one of the core themes that make Final fantasy, a final fantasy, is world war 2 and nazi occultism (Vril).

TheInterplanetary oh yes, and one of the things that attracts me so much to the FF games it's that it's based on taboo subjects that no other media outlet, especially Western, will touch upon. Of course, it's so deeply wrapped in the anime fantasy cloak that no one sees it unless they are well read or into the same topics, and in the end it is meant for entertainment, nothing more. but sometimes when you want to be entertained, you want that material to relate to your personal interests. Enhances the experience.

Meh, literally been hyping for this game for about 10 years as I was already sold from the first trailer.
And I'm a pc player, meaning delay or not, its at the very LEAST still 2 years of waiting for me!
Might not be very impressive as a discipline for waiting, but its been a long while ether way.
Chances are if you wait until it's released on PC it will be spoiled by some troll. Getting this day 1 and avoiding online until it's beat. Will be uploading some helpful vids if and when i can depending on what the trophy list is like and if they give out early copies to more popular channels.

Magic vs the machines and monsters. Amazing battle! The crystal usually carries magical powers. And the empire called Nifelheim, wants it bad. So they attack Insomnia, the great King's castle of Lucis. But the crystal only ollows the chosen Kings of Lucis, by wearing the ring which summons all Lords of Insomia. It all make sense.

Amazingly produced and executed. Beautiful beautiful beautiful!! The face modeling detail and animation alone is impeccable. Only one minor complaint based on what I see, the giant insects look like tweaked models from Starship Troopers.

FFXV and VII are not connected directly, tough if Dissidia is Canon, they are the same world, just billions of billions years later after Shinryu destroyed it all and then remade it (supposed endless cycle of making a new world, experimenting by putting good vs evil, destroy it after everything is done and make it anew, explaining why every final fantasy is set in a different world, yet still has some things here and there that are the same)

I watched this and its pretty awesome, definitely better than advent children. The animation is amazing, characters are likeable, and the story is great. My only complain is the action sequences. Some of them are great, but some are poorly edited and a complete mess because there are too many cuts and cameraworks, makes it difficult to keep up with the fight scenes. But overall great movie, cant wait for the game

I want to love this. The visuals are beautiful, the soundtrack is superb but both do not marry as I would imagine. Lip sync is out, I can see a large piece of machinery crash to the ground but hear no impact. Audio to visual is misaligned quite considerably and fear this will have an impact on the overall experience. Please please please address this issue. This is super close to being something extremely special.

I love the fact its Brit English instead of American for the monologue. It exudes royalty which fits perfectly with the scenes. While the rest of the fight scenes are American. :D Looking forward to the movie release. /thumbs-up.

Having a Kingsglaive FFXV: Watch Party really gave me some time to reflect on this movie. Yes, it's underrated but also tragically misunderstood too. I'm happy to see people paying respects to this movie, especially Nyx Ulric and his Fallen Heroes. RIP.

Guys, As a guy who watched this in Singapore and Malaysia (already screening here), I recommend you guys to watch it once it is out in the state. The scale is really breathtaking. And do watch it until the end of the credit. As there is an Easter Egg there. Nyx reminded me of someone at FF7.
This was such an awesome movie. The main hero's sacrifice at the end was very touching. Plus, I couldn't tell at all that it was voiced by the sidekick in Breaking Bad.
Wow 12 Minutes and those were quite something. Sorry to complain, but was it too much to ask to release a 1080p or even 4k version? This movie is supposed to sell with amazing visuals (which given ima pretty blown away) yet your marketing clip is 720p maximum.

Especially on RUclips where the bitrate allowed is heavily affect by the resolution option you pick. Even if it's just at 720p natively, uploading a version where the 1080p option is available would increase the bitrate a bunch, and bitrate is often more important for clarity (especially during scenes with lots of or fast motion) than pure resolution is.
Marketing clip indeed. Clearly, they want you to watch it in theaters where you could experience widescreen couch.

In case anyone is planning to watch but still haven't done so:
9:40 - 9:46 shows how most of the action scenes in this movie take place, so if you find this section disorienting, then you'll probably find yourself lost during most of the fight scenes. If it doesn't give you any problems though, then the fight scenes should turn out pretty good for you.
