The story is phenomenal. As a fan of D&D, FFXV remains one of my favorite games of all time. The resemblance to a D&D campaign and a party is just amazing. Love all the party splits when the characters leave and go through their growth. Very reminiscent of when a player splits off from us and I do one on one sessions in order to cover their time away from the group. Then when they release the dlcs its like when I tell those at my table of what happened when their friend was on their own journey. A beautiful story for sure.

You're welcome! And thanks so much for your generous support! We appreciate it tremendously! It means a lot, especially to a small channel like this one!
What an amazing video. I beat the game when it came out so I mostly remember the big plot points but was kinda confused at the end. I still felt an attachment for the group and teared up near the end.
Watching Noctis become a man was really something. I hated him most of the game but the trials he went through and the friends who carried him turned him into a badass.
I watched the movie first before playing the game and after 7 years, I watched the movie again just to get the full understanding of the story, but this video, explains everything, things I haven't seen in the game (I only played the base game). Awesome video indeed
I played the Royal Edition totally blind. Then I played the DLC before Ardyn came years later. Then I watched Kingsglaive movie. FFXV is honestly quite a gripping experience.
I haven’t picked up this game since the Day One Edition. While I loved the exploration, characters, and combat, I never really understood the story. But now watching this and understanding the narrative, it gave me a renewed appreciation for this game. It’s a shame this game still carries such a stigma, it’s one of the most well-rounded Final Fantasy games.
The game felt like an empty shell that somewhat came to life during the second half. But the context this video gives makes it so much better and more understandable. Great story!
I will never forget the photo that I had during the end of the game. Iris eating cup noodles. I would imagine that Lunafreya would be quite put off by it.
Finally got around to finishing this game and it has to be one of the most wholesome final fantasy games I've played. Very good recap and telling of events too!
alright!! I wanted this finally got it. thank you. I had some disappointments with this game but overall it's a good one and I love the story.this is the game that finally got my son interested in final fantasy
Should mention that the sword you pick up before fighting the Titan is actually the founder king's sword (Ardyn's brother) we know the gods don't willingly choose to help noct but are convinced by his strength (except the God of storms) I think titan was trying to save the founder king's blade not necessarily stop the meteor
Thank you! I love 15 and I just completed my second run in the Royal Edition and episode Ardyn, the first one was the regular version. I'm amazed with all the extra details, story, and how well made episode Ardyn was. I also watched Kingsglaive, Brotherhood and the Ardyn prologue, and despite all its flaws and how much it suffered during its production FFXV is an amazing game with a great story!
Needless to say, I cried. I had first been interested in the series due to this game's alluring and complex lore (as I am not a gamer myself), and immediately pursued learning more about it. After thinking I knew quite a bit, I increasingly became aware of how much I didn't know-and didn't feel ready to be able to read the new FFXV novel I had purchased. But this...this was beyond incredible. I have no words-your narration is godly, and told me everything I needed to know and more. I will forever be grateful for this amazing channel! May you always walk talk, my friends!
Amusingly the coin that ardyn tosses at noctis actually turns out to be the first ever oracle accension coin, related to his original lover. I found this out by recalling that this coin was called 'very intricate coin' or something of the sort. So i went to look it up. Been replaying the game again. Thanx for the video
Fantastic video! Have you read the Dawn of The Future? It's quite an amazing end to the saga in my opinion. Really sheds a lot of light on some aspects of the story. I highly recommend it!
I think it's because I wasn't really into the series before this game came out, and didn't know about its development hell and Versus XIII, that I really enjoyed almost every aspect of this game. The game deserves a lot of its criticisms sure, but MAN are people way too harsh on it. Good to see others in the comments agreeing with me. Thanks for the great story summary!
Thanks for this for shedding light to this misunderstood and under appreciated game! FF15 was my 1st Final Fantasy, and main reason I got a PS4 back then. Even now played FF16 and FF7 remake, 15 will always be, one of my top games for me. Wish they change the canon ending, the one alternative ending of Episode Ignis
Great job! Amazing FF Videos, I have watched a couple of them multiple times. Huge nostalgia for past FF and recent ones. Subscribed! I will sit back and hope for a Legend of Dragoon & FF Tactics video soon :)
This was my first official Final Fantasy game I had any recollection of playing. (Idk if Brave Exvius counts. I was only into gacha back then) Going back and replaying this game while listening to this video really hammered home for me why I had loved this game so much.
Please catch up with FF VII, FF VIII, FF X, FF XII... they are the best (and true) FF This one is not, it's just an open world action game with a boys band, and have so few "FF" elements in it you'll be shocked !
Thanks for the story recap \o/. FFXV's story is interesting and intriguing but it has been told in a wrong way. So I think you did well to make it more accessible and user-friendly ;-). PS: Somnus and Somnus Ultima always hurt the feelings. There is something special about those music tracks...
I got aaaall the way to the fight with daemonized emperor, stopped playing for a minute then tried to get back into and kept getting my ass whooped. Haven’t picked it up since 2020💀
Throughout the game, there are oracle ascension coins everywhere. Apparently, when we first met Ardyn, he was carrying many coins. Ardyn has been at every location we visit in the game.
If I remember correctly the Niffs brought her to Insomnia. Meanwhile, Regis had sent Noctis away to keep him safe since he suspected that the empire would not keep up their end of the bargain.
FFXv is actually my favorite FF. The story and visuals tugged have left a serious mark on me. I played it on the year of release until the final dlc. I was an 8th grader when it was released.
I finally got around to playing Final Fantasy XV a few months ago, in March 2022. That's when I found this channel from one of its FF15 videos. It's clear that the proprietors of BoP enjoyed FF15 much more than I did, but I still appreciate how they talk about the game. This kind of presentation, where the game's events are laid out continuously, is very useful. For someone playing Final Fantasy XV normally, the story is heavily fractured not only by the decision to create a "trans-media narrative," but also by the decision to make the game open world. With all the side activities, it could be hours in between plot points, until the game gets more narrow and focused around Chapter 9. I think Final Fantasy XV's story had some interesting ideas, but I don't feel they handled most of them successfully. My biggest disappointment was the short-lived tension in the group in Chapter 10. That could have been something that mattered, but it ended up feeling contrived and tacked-on. It came out of nowhere, and lead to nowhere, ending with a return to the status quo. A real struggle between the men, that they would have to work hard to resolve, could have been fascinating. Thanks for making this presentation. For the future, try listening to this at 1.25x speed to hear what would make a good cadence for reading scripts.
Naw bro I shed tears at the end when my picture was chosen and stand by me was playing. Then when the title card changed to lady Lunafreya and noctis a smile beamed across my face as tears dropped
I love this game! I watched the movie first and than had to play to find out what happened to all the characters. It was very different from what I expected but in a good way.
This is an excellent video, sir! Thank you for making it. I only played the game when it came out and I was wondering why some things felt a little disjointed or like something was missing informationally. I never played the DLCs so this helps a lot. Thank you!
After I finished FF VII Remake and Rebirth, a friend recommended XV to me. And I have to say that the 15 has grown on me even more than any other part I've played. I love open world, the battle system (I don't use the waitmode) and I don't even need to start with the Regalia (Type D). And the OST gave me chills. Especially “Apocalypse Noctis” When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind. In the 15th, everything is "alive" up to the horizon and the day-night cycle also brings in dynamism. And I also particularly like the little things, such as Noctis getting dirty from fighting and fishing, or his hairstyle no longer being neat due to the rain. I also like the dynamic between the guys more. In the 7, I'm particularly bothered by the whining and pushy nature of Tifa's character. The story of 15 is a bit confusing, I don't want to contradict that, but since I know or have all the media around, I can figure out the connections. The story of 7 is largely known, but now the changes make the story more complicated for players who know the original. Since I've found Zack to be my favorite FFVII character since Crisis Core, I'm naturally very excited to see how he fits into the whole story. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the third part of the 7. But the 15 will probably remain number one for me for the time being.
Im surprised you didnt include the kingsglaive movie somewhere near the beginning. Other than that, loved the video and the narration. Love this game's lore.
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it! Sadly it's a bit more difficult to include Kingsglaive due to copyright issues. I guess we could have used screenshots though.
This was a game i played when it came out with no prior knowledge of it's development i played the whole way through but at the very end i stopped in the last room because i didn't want to sit in the chair after 6 month's i finally finished it and it will hold a special place in my heart i haven't even done the DLC yet but i will soon after im done with 16
I thought the overall vibe and style of the game is very unique. I might like Noctis a little more than cloud or squall. I know its a hot take but the whole royalty/prophecy aspect really adds layers to the character imo.
@@BirdsOfPlay im happy they didnt draw out the game into a massive compilation. it works as a beginning, middle, end. A classic take on "The Future King" story like in Lion King or Black Panther.

This was my first final fantasy which really I played on a whim due to me seeing that it was leaving Xbox gamepass and I’d become intrigued by the series after the introduction of Sephiroth to smash ultimate and suffice to say I hadn’t expected to be introduced to what is now one of my favourite games and fictional worlds of all time sitting up there with Nier, persona 5 and Prey(2017) and as the lore nerd that I am I admittedly almost got overwhelmed by the scope of story and all the different timelines and additional media that exist which resulted in me being saddened greatly to learn that the dawn of the future dlc line would be cut short with only episode Ardyn being produced but at least we got the novelised version (which really isn’t comparable to the sheer spectacle of what we would’ve gotten otherwise but still) this journey was still plenty however and I always love seeing others appreciate this game and not judging it due to how the game once was and what it could’ve been if things went differently
Thanks for sharing your story! Always great to hear from someone who truly appreciates the game. I wasn't sold at first but the digger I dug the deeper I fell in love. Allowing some time to pass from when the game was released also allowed to see it from a new perspective and I'm glad I did!
I have to start off by saying "WTF!". I played this game when it came out, and enjoyed it for the most part, but I was so lost. I didn't understand why people thought it was super sad, etc. Now I know there was so much missed story. Thank you for this. I now understand why it is such a great story!
I personally think this is the only game in the entire Final Fantasy series that actually needs a sequel. The story also warrants one too, which is rare in and of itself (to stop the cyclical ending the game finishes on). Could be as simple as a Regis time stitch prior to the invasion or more interestingly Noctis accidentally discovering that power and changing something important prior to the invasion.
I'm really not one to get emotional over games, a few of the better ones with truly good stories do get me from time to time, But this one hits every time. I cannot get through the ending of this without getting emotional over it. from the overall journey, the amazing music, and even with all of the huge world of gods, magic and monsters the thing that hit most was just the human relationships and motivations. This game gets a lot of hate for plenty of reasons, some of them justified to a point but for me the complete version is a masterpiece.
Ardyn is the best FF villain ever. Clear motives, controls the plot behind the scene. And most of all, you can understand his point of view. Ardyn and Noct were basically the same person. Only Noct died a hero, Ardyn lived long enough to become the villain.
Well, the intro is custom made by us so that's probably different. Also, the game doesn't start with Episode Ardyn, which is a DLC episode so that might be new to you as well.

The ending is very powerful so years are to be expected! Glad you liked the video!
Prompto made this game for me. He was really great and lead to some of the most emotional moments.
This is one of the most enjoyable summaries I’ve ever watched. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching and letting us know what you think about the video! Glad you were able to enjoy it!
I played the Royal Edition totally blind. Then I played the DLC before Ardyn came years later. Then I watched Kingsglaive movie.
FFXV is honestly quite a gripping experience.
Your videos work for the series is undeniably top notch!!
Thanks for saying so! And for watching!
We love renewing appreciation! Hopefully the stigma will fade with time, leaving even more room for appreciation! ❤️
The game felt like an empty shell that somewhat came to life during the second half.
But the context this video gives makes it so much better and more understandable. Great story!
The story in Final Fantasy XV is really tragic, emotional, and amazing.
I'm so glad I've come across you're channel, you guys are putting out such great content! Keep up the great work!
13:36 Here starts FFXV main game.
Thank you so much for your videos! they're very nice!
In my opinion, I would have started with the main game.
I've totally lost my heart to this game. I love it. Its like imperfect perfection😭💖
I will never forget the photo that I had during the end of the game. Iris eating cup noodles. I would imagine that Lunafreya would be quite put off by it.
You little rascal. Well done.
can't wait to watch this, thanks for your hard work
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy it! - Nökkvi
Finally got around to finishing this game and it has to be one of the most wholesome final fantasy games I've played. Very good recap and telling of events too!
You guys do such a good job with these
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching!
I appreciate this! I put the game down in chapter 7 about 3 years ago and really didn't want to start over
Glad we could help you finish the journey! Thanks for watching!
Your voice deserves praise my guy. I clicked cause of the subject. I stayed cause you don't sound like a nerdy child while going over this. 🎉
This video made me appreciate the story of FFXV and now I want to play it again with all the DLC episodes.
FFXV was my Final Fantasy game, it was so refreshing
People truly appreciating Final Fantasy XV is always very refreshing as well.
Man, after I learned Ardyn’s backstory I was like yeah I’d probably be evil too! The gods did him so dirty, dang
This was the first FF I ever fully completed and I really enjoy it
Thanks for the video, I love FFXV and it's nice watching more content being made on YT
Amusingly the coin that ardyn tosses at noctis actually turns out to be the first ever oracle accension coin, related to his original lover. I found this out by recalling that this coin was called 'very intricate coin' or something of the sort. So i went to look it up. Been replaying the game again. Thanx for the video
great vid, it's almost like having Marquis Ondore read to you lol
Glad you like it! Marquis Ondore would be a great RUclipsr! 👍
Not me tearing up again from the summary.
(Also, it's narrated beautifully 💖)
Great job! Amazing FF Videos, I have watched a couple of them multiple times. Huge nostalgia for past FF and recent ones. Subscribed! I will sit back and hope for a Legend of Dragoon & FF Tactics video soon :)
the contrast between Final Fantasy XV and XVI is immense
True! Looking forward to doing The Complete Story of Final Fantasy XVI!
LOVE your channel and work! Keep up the greatness plzzzzz! Absolutely amazing!@!@
Thank you for you kind words! We'll do our best!
This was my first official Final Fantasy game I had any recollection of playing. (Idk if Brave Exvius counts. I was only into gacha back then)
Going back and replaying this game while listening to this video really hammered home for me why I had loved this game so much.
Please catch up with FF VII, FF VIII, FF X, FF XII... they are the best (and true) FF
This one is not, it's just an open world action game with a boys band, and have so few "FF" elements in it you'll be shocked !
Thanks for checking out our video! Don't forget to subscribe to become an early bird!
I always loved this game. My gf watched me play about half of it on and off, but towards the end. She was balling like a baby... so was I!!
Aranea Highwind I remember being drawn to. Beautiful design. grown up tom boy. Adore the character.
I liked her in the game but my appreciation was taken to the next level in the novel. Would have loved to see that DLC getting made...
22:10
Lunafreya made it out of insomnia safely?? Then where was Noct going before niflhiem attacked?? I thought he was going to meet lunafreya?
Great tip about the watch speed.
Naw bro I shed tears at the end when my picture was chosen and stand by me was playing. Then when the title card changed to lady Lunafreya and noctis a smile beamed across my face as tears dropped
Ardyn the one who born for greatness, either be a king that lead the prosperity or the consuming dusk before dawn.
I remember I was about to cry when I finished this game but then I chose a picture of a cup noodles from Prompto 😂 I burst out laughing
The ultimate meal!
i picked a picture of noctis head passing through gladio's chest XD
i really wanted to play this but everytime i start, i keep recalling the reviews of critics and friends saying it was a disappointment
Play it, it's great. If you are the sort of person that can approach things with an open mind I have no doubt you will find something to appreciate.
@@BirdsOfPlay don't waste your time, put this out of your memory
Wow bring tears to my eye now i need to beat the game .
Do it! We believe in you!
Thank you!
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching and leaving us such a nice comment!
Especially “Apocalypse Noctis”
When I think of FFVII's graphics, the wall jpg of Midgar is always the first thing that comes to mind.
When you think about it, it’s a really dark and sad story. I’m glad they finally released all the DLC and flushed the story out properly.
this game is very bitter sweet for me cause we should've gotten this full experience at launch. it's insane how much was not given to us at first.
Wow the DLC and movie went a long way to enrich a cool but convoluted story into a beautiful tragic tale of sacrifice.
The game is amazing regardless of being rushed…wished they released those other dlc episodes before they canned the plans…
Agreed! Would have loved to see the rest of the DLC!
Yep I'm buying it now. Thanks for the video. Birds of pray.
We pray that you'll love it!
Your channel is art
Much appreciated! Glad some of our hard work is getting across!
This game is oozing with vibe and style. At least in terms of the character designs.
@@BirdsOfPlay im happy they didnt draw out the game into a massive compilation. it works as a beginning, middle, end. A classic take on "The Future King" story like in Lion King or Black Panther.
Has anyone ever told you that you sound a lot like Tom Kane? It makes these all the more enjoyable lol
I just found out that it was nyx ulric the one hanging in the throne room, i always thought it was some random glaives because i cant see it clearly... Great content
Everytime they commented on wanting to rest I said "No. I want the bonus multiplier."
As royalty, such is your right!
Mission accomplished! Thanks for watching! It really is a great story.
As much as I enjoy XV, there cannot be a sequel because Noctis is dead.
yah if the ones with lightning got a sequel we need a sequel with Noctis surviving with some time fuckery, afterall it is final fantasy lmao
There's no cyclical ending. New Game+ is a game mechanic that lets you replay the game, but it doesn't mean the story repeats.
XV was the only FF game I managed to complete to the end. Loved it.
Bahamut really the evil guy at the end of it all. Set someone up just to get some praises and glory
This game is a masterpiece. Hands down the best 3D fantasy so far. And your video was great!
Ardyn is the best FF villain ever. Clear motives, controls the plot behind the scene. And most of all, you can understand his point of view. Ardyn and Noct were basically the same person. Only Noct died a hero, Ardyn lived long enough to become the villain.
i remember to have finished this game, but the first 10 minutes of this video seem to be something absolutely different to me.
Well, the intro is custom made by us so that's probably different. Also, the game doesn't start with Episode Ardyn, which is a DLC episode so that might be new to you as well.
