    Whilst im aware that this may not be the perfect time to get into the aviation industry, I disagree on the "Don’t study Aviation now !". Student pilots like myself who go down the GA path and start their training now will graduate in 1-2 years time and wont have the hours and experience required to be able to join an airline. It'll take years (as you probably know) to build up the hours and experience required to join an airline and by the time that happens, im 110% certain that air travel will resume back to normal, pilots will get their jobs back, airlines will start to hire again and etc. Personally I would much rather take the plunge and start my training now so that when the airlines start hiring again I have all the licenses and hours required to apply rather than start later and delay my career.
    While I cant speak for other countries, here in Australia things are starting to get a bit better and airlines are slowly starting to fly again which is a good sign.
    Also, lets not forget that aviation isnt all about flying the big jets. There's a lot more to it than that 😉

      @zanderman2029 4 года назад +3

      I agree, if your going the GA route you likely won’t be employable for the airlines for at least 2-3 years, by which time hopefully most travel has started to pick up again, my instructor who also flys for qantas rekons the same as there will be plenty of older guys who would likely not plan on returning if they are close to retirement age anyway. Who knows, if lots of pilots retire early that pilot shortage we used to hear so much about could come back even bigger in the long run.

    I chose to study accountancy and finance instead, of going to flying schools and training to become a pilot as a couple of months ago I saw a lot of flying schools just interested in the money you were given them and being dishonest, and telling me that they could get me to places. I did this So later on down the line when the aviation industry recovers In maybe 5 years I can reconsider changing my current career! And then following my dreams. Everything happens for a reason!

    You are right. But in MPL schools it’s different, because the cadet will be associated with an airline to train him and get him the contractual experience of 1500 hours on A320 for instance. I’m a representative of myself too. A commander of A320 here in UAE. I join my voice to your voice and I warn people not to invest into pilot career at this point. Especially self sponsored CPL IR ME, you will be on your own on the hunt for a job and end up accepting to teach as an instructor for a very low wage and unless you love teaching and enjoy it, you will just torture yourself and the students you will fly with because you will be resenting yourself blaming yourself feeling unlucky and betrayed by aviation!

    I am an aviation enthusiast, but I think that the entire business of aviation is almost entirely for wealthy people...I have been flying gliders for ten years for fun, but even that has become(here in Italy) a sport for people who have not the problem of paying bills while struggling to find a job...and unfortunately that is my situation now...I love flying, but the reality is that it is something that people of the average working class can't even dream to do anymore...

    Yes Sir I Totally agree with you!!
    Personally i think its not about aviation industry i am Sure aviation industries are definatly going to revive in short time as soon as this pandemic ends because yes there will be people who always travels.
    But the big and most obvious Question which "aspiring pilots" tends to avoid is that will there be vacancies for pilot in future especially for the freshers! because today itself there are experianced pilots with huge no of flying hours looking for vacansies again after they lost their existing job and so the young folks like us will have that huge disadvantage because all the vacancies even if it comes will be acquired by them so i think its safer for people who are aspiring to get in aviation to keep it hold for few years do something else for time being.
    !!!! i know it hurts personally it kills me😞😞😞 because i my self i am a aspiring pilot was about to get into flying school but kept it in hold because its not a small thing its a big money. and if you have that kind of money to spare then its your call.

    The pilot hiring will resume only when the traffic will have fully restarted. Some Airlines say that the traffic is gonna go back normal at the beginning of 2022 which means that there will be a lot of pilots or flight attendants missing to answer the demand of passenger travelling. If Airlines reopen their cadet programs the new pilots will need at least two or three years to be fully formed and ready to fly passengers. So those pilots will only start to fly in 2024/2025 which seems to be a reasonable moment. For me Airlines are not going to make the same mistakes than during the 2008 global economic crisis and stop recruiting for the next ten years. It’s just an optimistic way to see the 2020 corona virus crisis in therms of pilot recruitment. But we can’t lie though because during the next years until at least the end of 2021 the recruitment isn’t gonna restart.

      @@Mistyfgdf I don't see a quick regain besides we still in corona it hasn't end yet , where as in many countries this still has to peak, and me as well having amazing plans for my Aviation start-up , I had planned to start my flight school approximately late this year or early next year but now I doesn't seems an any good idea to do during corona or airline crisis .
