Duuuuuuuude this was one of my favorites as a kid. The costumes, the deep cuts, the combos, the boss fights, the mines 😂 But I didn’t remember the lack of checkpoints and I NEVER KNEW that it was Mark Hamill in the booth! I love this channel, man.
If there was a game that made me want to read X-Men comics despite how not good it is, it would be X-Men Destiny. I know it wasn't that good, but making your own X-Men and getting to fight along with other X-Men just kept me coming back to it.
Feel slightly bad for being that guy, but I'm still gonna do it. "You can wear a costume from a tie in comic with the hulk", proceeds to show basically wolverines first appearance (Pretty sure it's the issue before the one shown, but it's not on the cover).
I loved this game! Remember a vivid memory of waking up on thanksgiving morning in the early 2000’s to the smell of my grandma cooking and playing this game wrapped in a blanket on the floor. (Had it for Xbox)
Hell of video for a hell of a game! Got this for Christmas as a kid on the Gamecube and it really opened the door for me to Wolverine, the X-Men and comics as a whole in a way nothing else had. Loved watching this video Matty! Comic artist Ruairi Coleman (Turok, Star Wars, Super Man, Captain Marvel) draws his Wolverine like the Wolverine we see in the game. Lots of fun!
I had this game as a kid! Bought it second hand from my local video store It had some fun ideas like being able to switch up claw/melee attacks and the RAFT level was really solid too Also what an underrated Mark Hamill performance It's a brilliant nostalgia hit for this to show up in my feed
This game was special to me because, on Xbox, you could play your own ripped music instead of the default soundtrack. That's all it took for this to be GOAT in my mind for a good while
I remember buying this game for $5 back when I was 14 years old in the 2000s. I had significant depression and anxiety that summer but this game got me through some tough times with it's painful difficulty despite not being that great. I also couldn't believe Mark Hamill voiced Wolverine in the game, he also popped up in Soldier of Fortune 2 as the villain. Thanks for your video brought back some memoriesq
I loved this game when it first came out. I actually bought it again a couple of months ago. I haven't played it yet 'cause I need to set my PS2 again, but I have very fun memories playing this game. Thanks for this video. Glad to see others still talking about it.
had a nightmare trying to play it as a kid, just played it for the last two days and it was fucking awesome. I honestly think everybody who hates it had the same experience that i did as a kid. Revisiting it as an adult makes me feel bad for the devs because this game totally had it rough.
@@knellknight3701 that’s so ironic considering we enjoy games so much more as kids, but it looks like it worked out better for you in the end! 💯 I’m gonna have to emulate this but you’re right! it’s definitely worth revisiting
This will always be a special one for me. Think I was 7 or 8 when this came out and I remember having to get teeth out and the dentist so I was off school for a few days and just blasted though this. So underrated! Fun fact this is actually mark hamils second marvel voice role as he did hobgoblin in the 90s spidy cartoon too
X-Men Legends 2 Rise of Apocalypse, I feel like that's not talked about enough, I loved that game, it was Soo fun, We rented that shit like 4 or 5 times back to back just to beat it and level up our favorite characters 😂
1 for me is memorable because i faked being sick to stay home from school to play it but i could never get past the mystique boss fight in the beginning. i got farther in 2.
This game definitely has a special place in my heart and I loved the Spider-Man cameo in the game! I'm not sure if anyone brought this up, Spider-Man's voice actor is Rino Romano! He voiced him in Spider-Man: Unlimited and he even voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne in The Batman cartoon. 😊
Every game before microtransactions is better than games with microtransactions. I miss the days when I spent hard earned money on a game, it was mine, I got all the content, and wasn't being harassed to pay more to access what I already payed for. I'll take bubsy 3d over the dumpster fires we get now that call themselves games. Maybe that's a bit extreme, but you get the point
I remember I got this game as a kid. I was an eager kid to spend the money he had, I had like $20 and my brother took me to GameStop so I can get a game. And this game caught my eye and I got it, and enjoyed it
I loved this game when it released back in the day. It was the first game that made me feel like wolverine. It's funny looking back I didn't realize it was more based on the comics, but I didn't get into those until a few years later. Thanks for covering this game, I forgot all about it and it was fun to have a "whoa" moment as I started remembering more about it.
I have so many fond memories of this game. Whenever I think back to having a sheet of paper with cheat codes that I wrote out, it brings me back to this game for some reason 😂
OH MY GOD THAT MINE FIELD. I played this very game with my brother when I was a child and I don't think we ever went past 2 or 3 levels, we didn't finish it for sure BUT THOSE MINES AWOKE SOMETHING DEEP INSIDE OF ME I REMEMBER SUFFERING THROUGH THEM. Also, Batman Vengance is dope, I love it!
Alot of the activision marvel games of the late 90s and early 2000s are awesome man i love the X-Men legends and Marvel ultimate alliance games and the Spider-Man games
I played the hell out of this as a kid. Ironically hust played it again about 5 days ago. It was 3 am and i was drunk and i got confused on something and stopped lol. But i loved it, especially the blooper reals like Logans claws replaced with utensils 😂😂
Fantastic 4 is one if those comic movie tie ins that wasnt anything spectacular but I loved it and replayed it constantly. Even have a core memory of getting stuck trying to figure out what the hell the r3 button was 😂
The mine field was what got stuck on as a kid because I didn’t have a working R2 button. I learned to get past it using only the audio queues from the mines which made me feel even more like I was Wolverine lol
Whoa! Batman Vengeance shout out?! I just bought that game for like $20 and I'm currently playing. Obvs it's a bit jank, but man it's great seeing that animation style in a video game and hearing the iconic cast all reprising their roles!
X2: Wolverine's Revenge is actually my favorite Wolverine game. Origins is awesome, don't get me wrong, but that feels very much like the movie's Wolverine.. which is fine. But X2: Wolverine's Revenge feels like a comic book. I am really surprised that it isn't as loved as other games. It felt VERY much like Wolverine. I wish I could get it to work on my PC. Sadly I have been able to figure that out. :(
This game was one of the first games I got on my OG Xbox when I was 12, I remember my brother was in college and I stayed with him at his apartment for the summer so while he went to school and work I was just grinding away at this game and remember beating it lol specifically remember the cliffhanger at the end where Omega Red was still alive.
I love this game. The comic stuff, the stealth elements, suit unlockables, it's my jam. I don't think I ever finished it though, it's a bit janky indeed and quite hard but still so good.
I feel the same way about this game so good for what it is and i remember playing this game and my dad saying ok lets watch the movie in theaters such a good time
the Konami, Capcom, Headgames, and that Origins game are the only X-Men games that actually feel like they nailed the X-Men. the other games always felt like weird fox stuff.
This was the only game I got with my Gamecube that christmas so many years ago. Played the crap out of it but was never able to beat it even with the cheat codes for level select. Good times :)
It took me, my mom, and 2 of my big cousin a whole summer and me a shit ton of migraines to beat this game....and I loved every single moment of it 😂😂😂
I appreciate content makers that give us good shit to watch on our daily grind.
Same. LOL Matty making my day better here at my desk.
same. i work from home, so having matty vids are great!
FACTS! Matty is one of those content kings. 😤
Shut up
Hearing Matty talk about being stuck in the mine field then getting a self defense ad was a perfect twist of irony
Lmao 😂that “tie-in” w/ the Hulk is the first appearance of Wolverine.
This was exactly my feeling.
It was back when Mark Hamill could still voice act without every role sounding like Joker with laryngitis.
NGL, I was just looking this up last night and wondered if Matty would ever review the game?
Lo and behold, my man did indeed.
Literally the same shit. 10 days later, im finally watching the vid lol
If there was a game that made me want to read X-Men comics despite how not good it is, it would be X-Men Destiny. I know it wasn't that good, but making your own X-Men and getting to fight along with other X-Men just kept me coming back to it.
The dark matter powers in that game are great! So much fun, especially the shadow demon ability
Really was x men destiny that good?
X-Men Destiny was such a fun weekend rental!
I got movie tickets for X2 in my copy as a kid!
9:51 thats the first appearance of wolverine he first appeared in a hulk comic as a villain for hulk
Yess the Batman: Vengeance shoutout! That game is awesome and so underrated!
THIS GAME WAS MY CHILDHOOD!!! I have so many memories just going around in the stealth mode and I loved the combat in the game! 🔥🔥👀
Hell of video for a hell of a game! Got this for Christmas as a kid on the Gamecube and it really opened the door for me to Wolverine, the X-Men and comics as a whole in a way nothing else had. Loved watching this video Matty!

Wow nostalgia blast! Thanks for covering this game Matty!

50 Cent Get Rich or Die Try'n. That's what my brother and I would have playing in the back while playing this game back in the day. Loved this game.
Loved this game growing up , even with the jank booting it up again brought so many memories back from this era
I love this game and Mark Hamill was surprisingly good as Wolverine
I played the shit out of that game, one of my favourites of all time
I had this game as a kid but could never beat the first level 😂
Same! Until my older cousin came over and embarrassed me by completing it easily 💀
It is a ridiculously hard game, even for adults, it’s unfair honestly
i enjoyed this game! the story, the costumes, the spider-man cameo!
I appreciate this video going over an old gem I used to adore.
Also your cut from Spiderman to the family guy scene was great!
This was the very first game I ever remember playing and you nailed every memory I have tied to it.
I loved this game when it first came out. I actually bought it again a couple of months ago. I haven't played it yet 'cause I need to set my PS2 again, but I have very fun memories playing this game. Thanks for this video. Glad to see others still talking about it.
2:55 i love rino romanos Spider-Man
This game is a core childhood memory and I’m so glad you’re covering it I’ve been going back to the classics and it’s been a blast
Excellent content!!!! One of the first of the "Buying back my Nostalgia" games. Love this.
This game was an underrated classic, it was always fun back then
had a nightmare trying to play it as a kid, just played it for the last two days and it was fucking awesome. I honestly think everybody who hates it had the same experience that i did as a kid. Revisiting it as an adult makes me feel bad for the devs because this game totally had it rough.

I'm a huge fan of this game and was hyped to see you cover this. Thank you for listening to your heart.
Wolverine sounds like Mark Hamill.
He is lol
No shit lol
It is Mark Hamill😊😊
I’m black
This will always be a special one for me. Think I was 7 or 8 when this came out and I remember having to get teeth out and the dentist so I was off school for a few days and just blasted though this. So underrated!

Yes! You gotta keep reviewing X Men games as we get closer to D&W
I absolutely loved this game growing up! This and Neversoft’s Spider-Man were the 2 comic games that I first fell in love with.
This was my childhood. I've been craving some content on this
Great content. You deserve more views
You just unlock some childhoood memories thank you THANK YOU man i mean it
This game definitely has a special place in my heart and I loved the Spider-Man cameo in the game! I'm not sure if anyone brought this up, Spider-Man's voice actor is Rino Romano! He voiced him in Spider-Man: Unlimited and he even voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne in The Batman cartoon. 😊

Maybe that's a bit extreme, but you get the point
Exactly
Most games still do, but the best and biggest franchises is what you honestly refer to I believe
@mercyprod.4758 most games still do what? Not sure what your saying
I remember I got this game as a kid. I was an eager kid to spend the money he had, I had like $20 and my brother took me to GameStop so I can get a game. And this game caught my eye and I got it, and enjoyed it
I loved this game as a kid
I couldn't even get past the first level as a kid. Even as an adult I can't. But I don't want to hate the game because I grew up with it.
This game was my jam back in the day. It’s a shame we never got a direct sequel
I have X2 and Batman Vengeance on the GameCube and I still boot them up now and then. Both were childhood classics.
I have so many fond memories of this game. Whenever I think back to having a sheet of paper with cheat codes that I wrote out, it brings me back to this game for some reason 😂

Also, Batman Vengance is dope, I love it!
This game was amazing, through and through. I still play it once every blue moon and it still hits just as hard as it did when I was kid
Alot of the activision marvel games of the late 90s and early 2000s are awesome man i love the X-Men legends and Marvel ultimate alliance games and the Spider-Man games
I love X-Men 2 X-Men united
Remember going to computer club to play this game and The Hulk game that was around the same time. Both looked so cool back in the day🎉
Another banger from Matty. Hopefully seeing that Deadpool vid soon 👀
I absolutely loved this game back in the day.
Printing a Baskin Robbins offer on the game case is insane 🤣
11:10: LOL, that soldier just went flying over Wolvie's head!
I loved X Men Wolverine Uncaged Edition for 360. That next??
I played the hell out of this as a kid. Ironically hust played it again about 5 days ago. It was 3 am and i was drunk and i got confused on something and stopped lol. But i loved it, especially the blooper reals like Logans claws replaced with utensils 😂😂
Fantastic 4 is one if those comic movie tie ins that wasnt anything spectacular but I loved it and replayed it constantly. Even have a core memory of getting stuck trying to figure out what the hell the r3 button was 😂
Got this as a birthday present this game is sweet!
Man that game took some time to beat.Bring back good memories. 🎮
Beat this game at least 13 years ago and I still love it. Will re-play it one day.
How do you have such a clear picture for an older game like this? Certain adapter? Tv settings? Great video thank you!
I specifically remember the T shaped strike move was the coolest shit ever
I really loved this game as a kid. Even though I could never beat Lady Deathstrike.
Tie in comic!!! Matty! that is Wolverines first appearance!
I remember playing this game with my cousin on his PS2
I love this game. The comic stuff, the stealth elements, suit unlockables, it's my jam. I don't think I ever finished it though, it's a bit janky indeed and quite hard but still so good.
I enjoyed the hell out of X-2 Wolverines Revenge.
This game was big part my childhood lmao 😂 i love all its flows
I feel the same way about this game so good for what it is and i remember playing this game and my dad saying ok lets watch the movie in theaters such a good time
the Konami, Capcom, Headgames, and that Origins game are the only X-Men games that actually feel like they nailed the X-Men. the other games always felt like weird fox stuff.
Having watched Deadpool and Wolverine 3 times that Madonna reference brings a chuckle to me
One of my all time favourites 🔥
I remember being excited to play this on the way home from the store just to see Hugh Jackman wasn’t even in the game!
You make good videos man
My favorite game! I still go out of my way to play this on my PS2 and even emulate it and I love the cheat codes it's the only way to play this
Loved this game. Wish I had a way to play it now.
Never played this version but the gba sure was a hidden gem.
Man I loved this game SO MUCH as a kid. Great now I gotta buy it from someone on eBay again
This game terrified me as a kid. Even scares me a little bit now. Good or bad im always gonna love this game 🤘🏻
It was never a bad game, it’s a comic accurate Wolverine masterpiece
This Wolverine's Revenge game on Ps2 was my favourite 😎
would love to watch more xmen games. all anyone ever talks about is the genesis/snes games
Would love it if you talked about the developers too, what they made before and where they ended up at
This was the only game I got with my Gamecube that christmas so many years ago. Played the crap out of it but was never able to beat it even with the cheat codes for level select. Good times :)
It took me, my mom, and 2 of my big cousin a whole summer and me a shit ton of migraines to beat this game....and I loved every single moment of it 😂😂😂
I always loved this game. My mom got it for me, for my GameCube. Personally, I liked the art design and story.
I remember renting this. It wasn't the best but i enjoyed that weekend lol
At the time I loved the game. Especially the alternate costumes.
I enjoyed this game when I was a kid but was 1000% trash at it
Didn't know it was seen on a bad light, always thought it's one of the greats
3:27 we're full circle with a retroactive DPaW reference
I actually enjoyed this game
I loved this game as a kid, wish they still did movie tie in games cuz they may have been cheesy as hell but they were fun lol
i played this on the GBA and loved it
