E-ray! Prefer the combined deeper sound of the regular v8 and electric motor whine. Cheaper than z06, and better every day driver. As he said I think the Z06 is better for track use, and folks who would take advantage of that.
I have the Eray and the usability of the thing on the street is fantastic. Pulls like a train at any speed, don't have to wake up the neighborhood to get torque and it's a great everyday car in all conditions. 4 wheel drive makes it safer, more fun on the street and much more practical as a daily drive supercar at 1/3 or 1/4 the price of a Lambo, Mclaren or Ferrari with looks and performance that challenge the more expensive imports. Reliable V8 that you can probably drive for a couple hundred thousand miles unlike the flat plane crank Z06 engine which will need a rebuild or replacement at 80-100K so if you are going to drive the car mainly on the street and rarely track the Eray is a no brainer choice. If you are going to mainly track the car then it's the Z06.
Agreed and many Z06 owners are not taking that into account. The LT2 been out for a while on many more cars and based off the LT1 which is solid. As with anything cr@p happens, but I suggest Z06 owners get the extended warranties. Hell with the E-ray or base I would still do it. the DCT alone would hurt replacing. lol
If you do a little math, the Z06 is $5,000 more. You also get hit with a gas guzzler tax here in the states for $3,000 (but not on the Eray). And you get the Carbon Ceramic Brakes free. On the Z06 it costs $8,500. So that comes out to $16,500.
Genuine shame that you guys don’t get the US spec Z06s with the central exit exhaust tips without OPF. Those sound absolutely MANIACAL, and are unbelievably loud stock.
@danieldickerson4838 Australia has a habit of taking all the fun out of the best you guys produce in the USA, don't get me onto the great 2nd amendment in the USA, of course, they definitely took the fun out of gun ownership too🤔🤔🤔 but all in all, still is a great place to live if you just avoid thinking about Australia's similarities to reading 1984🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

My main question what would be faster in a straight line Eray or z06 I never track my cars but I still like having something fast and fun to cut up in and make content I go to alot of car meets and race ppl so need to know asap
A note on your camera work here, a forward facing view is really a must and then edit the switch between it and you. I also think the standard C8 is the pick of the bunch, cheaper, lighter and still rather quick. God speed.
I have the C8 Stingray and its a hell of a car. I have a deposit down on an E-Ray though because its just faster everywhere, looks better and pulls in the mid range where the base Stingray lacks since it only has 500HP. Cant go wrong with any of them though!

These are definitely high class problems🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm in an Amplify Orange C8 3LT and just in heaven, these next level models are just needing lottery wins for me to achieve but just beautiful pieces of machinery..Im tempted like Wayne to say for value for money, the eray is tremendously good $$$ for what you get. The Z06, hate they made so many changes to the Aussie model but nothing money can't fix I'm assuming? The Eray is 7 seconds slower around VIR. For those of you who don't know, that is an eternity. The Z06 is slower off the line to 60, and then is better than the Eray in every other way.
E-ray destroys the Z06 everywhere other than the track. On the track the Z06 destroys everything. (The E-ray is still very competitive on the track, but the Z06 is on another level) If you are a track focused guy its a no brainer, but for most of us the E-Ray as a daily driver is a far superior vehicle. For me 90% of my fun comes light to light, launch to launch, and the E-ray just smashes everything there.
@@RenBartlett except the weight up front is highly noticeable in an eray. If all you are doing is going in a straight line, eray wins. But if you ever plan to turn, the eray is at a big disadvantage.
@@sp1pilot Simply not true. The E-ray is extremely capable on the track, beating the Stingray on every single track that it ha attempted. The order is always (from slowest to fastest) Stingray, E-ray, Z06, and each has a similar gap in time between them. Bottom line is the E-ray wrecks it everywhere. It just happens that the Z06 is an absolute track monster and will eat your lunch, even if you are an extremely capable track car like the E-ray is.
@@sp1pilothave you ever driven one? On short tracks where you wont deplete the battery, i bet the eray is way more competitive. I havent driven a stingray or z06, but the eray will pull the front end around in tighter turns. The mass over the front, if anything, helps grip with the electric motor.
Eray is just another electric car, fast but soulless. I went Z06 because I love the engine and the sound it makes. It will only be more rare in the future as more and more cars and trucks go electric. I am not a hater on electric cars, I own a Tesla and Rivian.
@@therightcar I strongly disagree! The Flat Plane Crank in the ZO6 is pure Adrenaline. Ferrari 458 sound. The eRay is created electronic noise mixed with the v8.

E-ray is also faster than the Z06 everywhere other than the track and at extremely high speeds that none of us ever reach in city driving and racing. Its a much better daily driver in my opinion but the Z06 is a track beast, if that is your focus, or if you love the FPC engine sound.
