Gorgeous! I planted 2 Olivia rose austin standards this past February. That pot is gonna tip if your planter is plastic. That happened to me when I planted a standard hydrangea so this time I bought big heavy terracotta pots. Good thing though your containers are bit protected from your porch.

love the roses. my concern is will it always be in bloom?
They won’t always be in bloom but the underplanting will all growing season. The green of the rose will look lovely with the colorful annuals. It’s also good to pick out tough roses that won’t fill with black spot or other diseases and keep in healthy leaves. This is the first time we grow Carding Mill but hear very good things about it. As long as it gets plenty of sun it should do great. In winter in San Antonio TX the roses go dormant for about two months I’ll just move them out and add evergreens. It will be fun! 😃💐💚
How do you keep the tree from leaning against the wind.
We placed longer stakes in the pot to hold the tree roses this helps with the rose not moving around and tipping over the pot. The pots are also a good size so they are quite heavy with the amount of soil even though they are made out of thick plastic. The area we have them protects them on windy days as well. But if I was to plant in open areas I would buy different material of pot much heavier. 💚💚💚💚💚💚

@@GardenObsessions Awesome and welcome to Texas, I’m in Dallas. Would love to see if you plant hydrangeas (as in your other house) and how they do for you. Mine always crisp up around August 😩 even in the shade. Texas heat is not nice yo them.
