What a relief that all your beautiful hydrangeas are withstanding your brutal 3 digit heat out in Texas 🥵. I’m not gonna lie… I do miss your Virginia secret garden tremendously but you guys have done well on your new property. Keep up the great work ❤
I am so happy you all are planting in your new garden. I have been anticipating to see how the Hydrangeas do for you in your zone 9, I am in zone 9b so your info will be very helpful and encouraging. Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful looking hydrangeas, They are the bees knees.
So happy to see hydrangeas have picked up so well in Texas. 😊👍
Your yard is coming along ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden with us and giving us update on how the hydrangeas are doing
Loved the hydrangea video.
I wish I could have Hydrangeas! Seems like the deer love them too... ugh! Yours look so beautiful!
They look so pretty and healthy! I am glad you will be able to enjoy them there as well. 🙃
This might pique your interest since you seen to have access to Proven Winners plants, Fairy Trail Bride. It's a cascading hydrangea. I've recently purchased one at a local garden center called The Arbor Gate in Tomball Tx. I originally saw this on another gaden utube channel and the plant collector inside of me decided I had to have one The blooms are more like mini lace caps hydrangea flowers which are supposed to bloom along a 4 ft long cascading branch. Since I just recently purchased it I'm not sure how successful I'll be with it. I currently have it elevated in a container and like you am testing it out to see where it might like to be Wish me luck everyone!
Beautiful flowers I love them🙏🏼😇👍👌🌹💯
Hi Engy 🌺. I'm glad the hydrangeas grow well for you and they look stunning .I lovet . Have a wonderful day .🌺🌻🌺
You give me confidence to try them in Phoenix 😊
Your hydrangeas look beautiful especially gatsby is a stunner and good to hear its doing so well in the heat. I wonder if gatsby will do well in socal. I did get fire light tidbit hydrangea to try it, I do look forward to see the color show. Thanks keeping us updated!
So glad your hydrangeas are coping 🌸🌺🌼
Hey Angie! I’m close here in Boerne and I’ve got a couple of pinnacles hydrangeas that are doing ok now but fingers crossed we’ll see how it goes. Yours look amazing 😍
You are not far Hi! 😃 We will both have to see how the panicles do for us. Ours are starting to put flower. It’s going to get hotter 🥵 hopefully they pull through. Keep us updated. 💚💚💚💚💚💚
Will do and I can’t wait to see how yours do! I’ll be watching for sure
Angie,
I have Gatsby Pink, too--love her! ❤
Your hydrangeas are beautiful. What soil is best for container hydrangeas?
Tell me your secrets, Angie! I have too much sun or too much shade!
I got a hydrangea plant as a gift and I'm trying to keep it alive. I placed it outside on the porch, in a new pot with organic soil mix, and watered it. The flowers wilted and look almost dying, so I placed it inside near the glass door, it doesn't look any better. I live in south Florida, can you grow hydrangea here? Do I need biotone? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊
You look so pretty.
Thank you! 🙏💐💚
Hi Angie, great video. I’m in Dallas area, my experience with hydrangeas has been up and down. I have a huge lime light in ground, it’s in eastern side. Does great and full of broccoli clusters. It will bloom nicely but once Aug/sep hits the heat browns blooms and I’ve yet to see the pink that comes with cooler fall weather. It’s still beautiful and I’ll enjoy blooms early June. I had a moon gatsby Oakleaf in pot that I lost two years ago, you inspired me to get another one. The fact that they are early bloomers means we can at least enjoy before heat kicks in. Excited to see how your limelight does. Looking forward to your updates. On the bright side, we have been getting a lot of rain (last year we went months without any) so that will surely help.
Secret to save them is water every day, sometimes even twice a day. I learned that hydrangeas are very thirsty and they will dry out so fast in hours even. Try watering from base of plant give it a good soak daily and see if that helps, start now not when you see browning.
@@kater8730 thank you!
So glad your hydrangeas are doing well. You guys are taking good care of them. By the way, your hair is beautiful!!
It will be interesting to see if the winter there will be cool enough for them to have sufficient dormancy.
Im also in San Antonio and I want hydrangeas all in my yard but our heat&sun is scorching . Where did you get your invisible ones? I went to tractor supply about a month ago and purchased one panicle hydrangea called Bee Happy and placed it in our full sun area just made sure to keep an eye on it, I saw no damage to the plant so I went back and got two more their on full bloom large beautiful flowers! Im trying to get more different varieties
Bee Happy is a very beautiful hydrangea! Keep a close eye on them as it gets hotter in southern states it’s best to protect them from the sun hottest time of day. The Invisible Limmetas are arborescens hydrangeas can be ordered on line. We were send these to trial years ago. The original called Lady Anabelle is one of my favorites the newer ones can be found big as that one but stronger stems. It’s done amazing here! It does get sun all day but it’s getting east and north sun not as harsh. Please keep us updated how your panicle does in full sun it’s amazing that’s it’s loving the sun. I’m happy to know you are in San Antonio! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
