Love that the Circle Garden is in honor of those who gave all in service to o.ur nation. My father served in the Navy during the Korean War. He is 94 now, w/ pretty severe Alzheimer's. When I told him it was Memorial Day & asked if he remembered what that meant, he became very solemn & explained as best he could what it was--he remembered. ❤🙏🇺🇸

As a fellow Texan, I try and have my yard planted by early April at the latest. I’ll add more sun loving plants as they become available throughout the growing season. I garden in the early morning only. I maintain my veggie garden, and weed, and fertilize once a week. I wasn’t able to keep my color blaze coleus in the sun. It faded in color. As for your grass, you guys are in a position to put beds in and pathways and garden rooms. Then figure out where you want grass and how much grass you want. I have a covered patio with a ceiling fan I sit under to take breaks and cool off.
It's so precious to have your grandmother's birdbath. The new garden looks great with the birdbath in the center, and I like the cracks on it. Nice to see the kids in the new garden. They have grown so much! Life is short. Thank God every day, and enjoy your family.

How sweet the memories of Grandma and her bird bath. You can put some epoxy in the cracks if it leaks water and it will be good for a few more generations. I have my Grandfather's rose bush, it is a heritage rose he brought over from England when he came to Canada. I predict it is over 120+ years old and I just treasure it. He is my inspiration to garden. I really like the circle garden. I would love to do that in my own yard. Loved the casual chat, you two are just too cute. So happy to see another video. Enjoy.

Looks great...quit apologizing. We're in the 80s up the road from you but only because we're about to wash away. After the storm yesterday, I'm glad to have anything left. But my Rainbow Rhythms (4 kinds now) are happy, happy, happy. The kids look like contented little Texans! Love your circle. I have my great-grandmother's jonquils, my grandfather's purple irises, and my grandmother's concrete dog. They mean so much! I've been treated for heat exhaustion a couple times even knowing our weather...y'all are so right.

You have a lot of space and to save on the amount of work maybe look into creating no dig flower beds..you could get some brown paper rolls (painters drop cloths) or use cardboard and put compost on top, will make the ground easier to plant in 😊

I really appreciate the warning on planting in this crazy heat. Our heat index in Houston on Monday was 115. And it wasn’t an especially sunny day! But the humidity was off the charts. Did that stop me? No. Like a crazy person I was planting the last of my plants to attract beneficial insects. Miserable.

What mulch do you use? There’s so many.
We recommend pine bark mulch as it is has a lower ph and breaks down using much less nitrogen in your landscape.
Does texas not have grass 🤔
Yes you can definitely grow grass in TX with proper care. 💚💚💚💚💚💚
