Live Acoustic. Black and white. High bit rate. Must have fast internet connection, and good web browser to view in HD. Enjoy! www.queensryche... 23 South Productions
Geoff had easily one of the most powerful voices I've ever heard. Of course, it's impossible to keep up as you age, but he is still among metal's greatest vocalists of all time.
This band was NEVER underated, it was NEVER forgotten. This band will NEVER be anything but perfect. It's sort of sick listening to people that were egg's in there mother comment on a band that defined real heavy/melodic metal. This band is not up for comment/ridicule/opinion. This band is god.
I actually think since Geoff has stopped smoking he has gotten his range back and that fire back. He will always be one of the greatest singers/vocalists in music history.
Even after all of these years... I listened and thought, he still sounds decent.... then at :58 seconds in... he reminds me how much power he always had in his voice. that's a lot of friggin talent in that once small space.. just look at them.
Operation: Mindcrime is one of the best albums ever. It's just so sad that Queensrÿche has been cashing Mindcrime in every possible way instead of creating new hi class stuff.
Geoff Tate is amazing!!! The guy is a real singer - he doesn´t go for the notes he knows are too high - so much better than a thousand others who goes there and just ruin the gig! Amazing voice!!!
That guy is what...50?? His voice is still solid and singing this type of music makes that.....well, pretty damn amazing. He sounds great. Thanks for posting Max
Excellent performance, it's great to see Tate can still hit the notes, and when he brings it down he keeps it tasteful. Nothing is worse than when singers try to hit the notes they can't reach anymore and hurt the song. It's cool to see the synth played with guitar as well.
So today I was streaming audio at work and the station played a few QR songs. For me it was a great re-intorduction. Keeping up with the rat race has caused me to forget the music that used to inspire me. Thanks for posting this video.
This band rules all with an iron fist, period. I got my ducats for the upcoming Westbury show in the mail today, way past cool! Still hitting Queensryche shows at 44, who would have thought that way back in the day? But then again, who would have doubted it? Thanks for posting this acoustic version, its sublime.
Wow. This guy is incredible even live - and still awesome today. His genre has changed over the years and gone away from the style I grew to love (EP-Operation Mindcrime), but its awesome to see that Tate still has the juice!
vocalist is someone with proffesional vocal training, a wide range, and use different tecniques, while a singer is just somebody who sings, every vocalist is a singer, but not every singer is a vocalist
There are simply some songs that should not be made acoustic. This is one of them. It just doesn't feel like it is conveying the same sense of desperation as the original version and that feel was what made it so goddamn good.
well said its a dying breed unfortunately with all the technical and digital enhancements the so called artists use on their voice nowadays, this is a rare talent
i love queensryche! thank u for posting this vid! just saw them in San Antonio and it was one of the best concerts of my life and i've been to a helluva lotta shows!! lol
Some say Tate lost his voice. He was 50 in 2009. Let's see how's their voice when they get to 50!! This is almost like the original performance, intonation wise. I miss DeGarmo though. He has a way with guitars like I've never seen in a nother musician, and I've been one for 10+ years now! ROCK ON QUEENSRYCHE!
The young dude is Parker Lundgren who recently replaced Mike Stone. The guy on end is Jason Ames who is going to be touring with QR as a 3rd guitarist and doing backup vox.
I will be on a cruise with Queensryche this November, watching this makes the anticipation nearly unbearable. It's called shiprocked 2009, check it out.
Such Poetic Realism of Our Consciousness... Playing an Important Roll in Justification of Ones Own Heart & Soul mixed-in with Social Correctness! I honestly dont know what I just wrote... lol
a while back, queensryche posted that there might be a mindcrime show made for stage production. It was on their website. One of the guys from RENT wanted to do it. That might be neat...
@enwll3427 The music media turned on metal.MTV and radio just quit playing them.We live in a society where corporations and the media dictate what's in and what's out.Metal is as big as ever now.If you are a true musician you will play the clubs or play arenas.Let the sheep follow the trends.
Wow. Such vitriol. Best to out wit the individual in question. Although, I would say it is risky getting into a battle of wits with one who is seriously unarmed, or never had it to begin with.
If Geoff could sing to this standard in 2013 I would be extremely happy. Hope he can get his voice back in shape. I understand age isn't on his side, but it's still no excuse for the sheer scale of the decline of his vocals over the last year.
Ok Mr. "I know music yes I do." I don't "fry my brain," I've chosen a straight edge lifestyle. and before you start bragging about being a student of music, I'll have u know I also have musical back ground in both vocal and musical performance, so I too know good and bad music when I hear it. and P.S., I don't need Motley Crue, I got queensryche!
@DistendedPerinium I just disagree with. Some bands like Queensryche , can do anything they want with their tracks and the feeling remains the same... Tate is the frontman and he brings the feeling with a different style but still he can afford to make us cry and laugh and hate and bring all the emotions inside our hearts.
I've seen queensryche live 3 times, including this acoustic gig... Tate's still got his chops, trust me. If you wanna talk "lost his chops" and bad acoustic gigs, then lets talk Dokken... now that was rough...and no, I'm not gay...however, I do find it hilarious that you have nothing better to do than leave negative comments on videos and argue with a 17 year old. and b.t.w, I think u mean "their," not "there"...I guess they didn't teach grammer at music school...
Wow...did I start this??? Now thats what I call talent...so...it looks like somebody finally called pest control, or Halfevil333able ran out of lame ass comebacks from his grab bag. So, hillbilly termites aside, Awesome video, Ryche and Roll
DeGarmo=3 lesser players......well done eensryche...or is that Queensry.... YOU KNOW WHERE I'M GOING I love these songs!! I just have to stop looking at these 'cover versions'
aww, half pint, did you forget about me? I'm so sad, I might cry.... Funny, you talk a big game, and you have cd105 and I right here, but you seem to only be able to handle us one at a time...by the way, monopoly money isn't real cash.
You obviously don't know what strait edge means, so let me lay it down for you. No drugs, no alcohol, no "sniffly jiffy," no nothing. And i do disagree w/ u, obviously, because if I didnt, I wouldn't have said anything. Don't just call this a young person's business just because your some 40 year old punk who missed his shot... Tell dio its an young persons business! I dare you! These guys work hard for what they do, and they do it well. A "student of music" should know that at least.
Geoff had easily one of the most powerful voices I've ever heard. Of course, it's impossible to keep up as you age, but he is still among metal's greatest vocalists of all time.
Mindcrime is on an eternal loop in my car since 1988.
:D same here. not since 88. but since i have my car.
Geoff is one of the best singer ever...
This band was NEVER underated, it was NEVER forgotten.

Best band ever. Best vocalist ever. End of discussion.
no day without queensryche and never gona be
Awesome, they still have it.
I actually think since Geoff has stopped smoking he has gotten his range back and that fire back. He will always be one of the greatest singers/vocalists in music history.
Isaiah Ridley he can get it back through training , but the damage will never be totally reversed ...
Geoff has adapted his voice quite well
to the changes it has gone through-
What a fuckin' tone!!!
Even after all of these years... I listened and thought, he still sounds decent.... then at :58 seconds in... he reminds me how much power he always had in his voice. that's a lot of friggin talent in that once small space.. just look at them.
Oh Geoff where for art thou? One can never sing like that forever, alas. Creds my man!
I hit the Like button before the song even started, because I knew it was going to be awesome.
Operation: Mindcrime is one of the best albums ever. It's just so sad that Queensrÿche has been cashing Mindcrime in every possible way instead of creating new hi class stuff.
just amazing! Tate ,...wata voice, this guy has 2 be placed among the greatest rock/metal vocalists of all time!!! WOW!!
Jesus Geoff has such a powerful voice.
Geoff Tate is amazing!!! The guy is a real singer - he doesn´t go for the notes he knows are too high - so much better than a thousand others who goes there and just ruin the gig! Amazing voice!!!
Indeed a great singer. Also great that he has long hair again :)
I have no words.
Truly Amazing!

Still listen to their albums weekly since 1988.
what a great voice, he is the best singer you never hear about.
Amazing voice!
Geoff sounds awesome. I don't think he's sounded this good in ages.
Excellent performance, it's great to see Tate can still hit the notes, and when he brings it down he keeps it tasteful. Nothing is worse than when singers try to hit the notes they can't reach anymore and hurt the song. It's cool to see the synth played with guitar as well.
What an amazing voice!!!

I have been a fan forever and will finally get to see them for the first time in May... I absolutely can not wait!
Honestly my favourite version of this song. I like it better than the album version, & that is saying A LOT.
I wish I could have been there to see that, in that time! Queensryche has always been a favorite!
vocalist is someone with proffesional vocal training, a wide range, and use different tecniques, while a singer is just somebody who sings, every vocalist is a singer, but not every singer is a vocalist

And I have a friend who sings and says that Hetfield sings better now. Talk about "admiration"
Saw them live for the first time 3 days ago. Check some of my vids. I just knew about them about 7 months ago thanks to this website.
