- I found this video on another youtube channel and liked it so much I decided to edit it and take out all the talking and leave only the music. It is not that bad of quality and the performance is very good.

A rare chance to hear a great voice in its natural, unadulterated glory. We get to hear Tate's voice bounce off the walls of the room, standing three feet from the mike, with no effects or studio tricks. If there was ever any doubt as to his abilities, this is proof that he is the real deal.

damn!!! what a voice!!!! I regret it back then in the 80's I never cared for Queensryche. They're an awsome band and one of the greatest voices of rock...amen.
Geoff has one of the most amazing voices ever he has always sounded the same live and on records, which makes him a real vocalist unlike all the electronic "enhancements" now. queensryche, rush and megadeth are the only bands I have seen that sound the same and true to the music they put out.
One of the legends in glam rock history, QR remains as a jewel for those who know how it all works! Amazing job, thanks, this made my day!

You do realist the two songs you highlighted are straight out metal right? They only really started to get progressive with Rage for Order and only went full prog on Promised Land.
Always kinda bugs me as well when people always pick out early sings with Geoff wailing in that fifth octave as a demonstration of his vocal ability. What about tracks like Anybody Listening, Out of Mind, Lady Jane, One More Time and Someone Else? All vocal masterpieces, none of them being as high in range as the earliest stuff.

Relax people, even though Queensrÿche aren't glam at all, his comment is valid. He said they were a jewel and this made his day, that isn't so bad at all now is it? I don't care what they are, but I love this song and the riff is among my very favorites!

@tzimani1234 his voice overpowers both guitars. and did you notice there's backing vocals? it's a waste of time having them because you can't hear them over Geoff's monster of an instrument.

Awesome voice!! His voice is a little a softer Dickinson. I had never seen a guy singing such demanding heavy metal vocals in a room with no amps nor effects... No bullshit like that. Just a man singing + some guitars.
@FatalPies Yeah, Dickinson's great - but he's always done pretty much just one thing with his voice.
Tate had range, style, tone, a whole myriad of dynamics.
brilliant acoustic vocal performance...just voice,without effects!actually his style is hard,so sometimes it's not perfect-he knows this..aging,usually singing techniques improves,+gets stronger,when all things,meaning''instrument''heals..thanks for sharing!

Val Faria thank you very much. yeah Geoff sounds awesome here, even tho I think some of his range was gone (which is understandable). but that power at 1:04 is crazy. he is truly one of the best metal vocalists ever.
