This was so cool to see again. Saw this tour in Sacramento at the time. When Geoff looked in the mirror, he opened his mouth and I swore he was wearing fangs. (I wasn't the only one who saw it) Saw them on the next HITNF tourin Reno and they put on a 4th of July type firework show at the end. This original line-up was simply magic. I'm glad we have at least RUclips to revisit the memories.
I went to this concert at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver in 95. This was the most thought out well planned and executed concert I ever went to. and Ive seen alot of live bands, Queensryche blew me away. It was like going to a heavy metal play
I hope people realize how important Chris was to QR. This was one of his last masterpieces for the band. This song is like listening to a modern day Pink Floyd. Promised Land the album is without its equal in rock music history.
The leaving of Degarmo later must have stopped this video from going into a DVD cause it is pretty damn good. full DVD of this tour with this albums set list would be fantastic. Degarmo's greatness and influence here is profound. Miss him sorely.
Probably had more to do with the record label on life support. They ditched the band financially right after they went on tour with the next record HITF and their promotion of Chris' final record was nonexistant. I remember hearing they were trying to get a taping together of the Promised Land live show from fans but nothing materialized as the band was already fracturing anyway. It's strange that they barely made it through their record deal and the label went under at that exact time and Chris said fuck this I'm out. The band should have quit then and there but...ego$ and bill$. Chris did the right thing--it was an abusive environment all around and he had dreams and a good head on his shoulders and has done amazing for himself and his family outside of the spotlight. Miss him terribly but completely understand.
The stupid record company at the time didn’t want to invest the money in it because they were too busy promoting their alternative grunge bands, which still makes me mad to this day
The irony was that HITNF was written almost entirely by Chris. Another new sound by QR...just like all of their music. So Chris was departing from the metal sound around the Empire days. His playing went from pentatonic to blues based. I liked HITNF. Great music. Tribe too.
@sickspastic They were at the top of their game here. Every song on this album was a mastermind of eclectic, synergistic expression combined with musicianship beyond showmanship but it's all still there in the mix. I loved this album and many before it, but when Hear In The Now Frontier came out something told me it was over. And sadly it was. Once Chris left I knew the possiblity of them ever returning to their roots was over.... RIP Queensryche
@sickspastic Bought seconds when it was released I hated it .. I sat on it and on a 16 hour road trip for some reason I grabbed the Promised Land cd when getting music for the road. On an alone stretch of road , exits every 30 miles I threw it on because I knew I would be seeing them eventually when they would tour for the disc I put it on.. listened relentless!! I have a pro shot VHS some where in my basement but I assure its there) from both Dayton *Pro shot* and Cincinnati *CRAPTASTIC*
best song int that album. the guitar parts are spectacular. I wish Scott had more dynamics in his playing, some sections of the song call for more subtle drumming
@ 1:40 'ish doesn't he resemble the Infamous Dr. X? Maybe he's a bit "Lost" but he's probably better locked away in there (a Mental Institution; A little safer anyway), then running from the Law or Dr. X's 'Law'.... I don't even know if the stories correlate or not...just sounded good to me @ the time.. They should write the stories-out in a book for those like me who lack mental vision.... Hint: that would make a great gift for a lot of us "Ryche Fans" ~ Peace
I remember seeing this concert like it was just yesterday . The good ol days . 👍🏼
Another gem from "Promised Land" that was completely overlooked by the mainstream music industry.

I agree, Chris was the master mind behind the band.

My EX-wife and I went to this show it TOTALLY blew me away. I wish they would release a Official DVD of this tour!

"What does she see? Maybe she is looking at me..."
Great song
Great Band
Tate and LaBrie's voices are the most commanding and prolific of all Prog Rock history ..
@ved76 chris was a big part of the sound.....it sucks they wont ever have that sound in their music again
this isn´t a concert, this is a theatral act
@DanAstonMusic - Sadly I cant , email me and when I find it , I can rip the show into a live DVD and send it to you as I do have a DVD burner
@sickspastic

wow!!
@theebaydj Wow a proshot video from this would be amazing! can you upload it?
The real question is why didn't they record it and release it on videos! Its way better than any of their live dvds like Art of live for example!
❤❤❤💯💯💯❤❤❤❤
Chris de garmo rocks!
Very underestimated band
Haha, cool performance.

krystalwj 1st off Nitwit this SONG HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OPERATION MINDCRIME! YOU OBVIOUSLY AREN'T A REAL QUEENSRYCHE FAN!
IT'S FROM PROMISED LAND!
@ved76 Could not have said it better....
That's because Queensryche refused to become another Kiss.
No, they became another Motley Crue with that Cabernet show
