I remember me and my friends ran home to video tape this. We felt so vindicated that they could show off their songs acoustically in such an intimate setting. Remember, Unplugged was becoming real trendy where any asshat would just play their electric crap on an acoustic and get praise. QR really showed their talent here.
That is the reason why Queensrÿche are a unique band that only exists once in a hundred years or so. Even today, with all the music industry totally reshaped and the use of advanced technology they've proved that not only can record inspirational music but be stronger than ever. Ryche 'n Roll
Like countless others, my discovery of Queensryche helped me to look at things in myself and those things around me from an entirely different perspective. I might even say their music helped to shape who I am today. I can't thank them enough for the many years of incredible music and for sharing their gift with us all!
The thing that struck me about this Unplugged was the way that the band just seemed so into what each member was playing and the vocals. When Geoff wasn't singing he was totally digging Mike and Chris's solo's and they were just doing what came naturally to them as a band. This is the unity and mindset of being in the moment that I thing is missing from the "being in a band" experience of today. Peace.........
i beleve they are one of the most uderrated bands of the 80's. I only saw them live last year in Houston and was still amazed at his vocal range and talant. I only wish I could have seen them back in the 80's when concert were more theatrical...
Damn..what A performance. Just played this song 15 times with the Record version and then came to perform this one. Everything is in tune and in tempo...perfect!!!! Cheers!!!
Building Empires (1992) I bought this on vhs for my dad when I was in 8th grade. You can probably get it on Amazon. Should be available on DVD by now. shows alot of live and some vids and then the end it this and Della Brown unplugged. Good stuff!!!
I saw then in Melbourne last year and they still rock....last album its great, full of meaning and history.... I'm glad i spent the last 20 o so year listening to music like QR.... They left a mark in my life that no music can erase.... never......
What I like best about Geoff Tate (besides his vocal range) is when he is on stage you know he appreciates his audiences and shows it in his performance. Theres nothing worse than going to a concert that you pay with your hard earned cash and seeing a band who suck up on stage (and could care less) especially the supposed great ones
Amen. I have ALWAYS thought they were so underated!!! I would go as far as to say they are much better than many metal bands that had much more success
Loved Queensryche. I was very fortunate to see them on the Building Empires tour - with the entire Mindcrime set run straight through. Absolutely jawdropping, and one of my fondest high school (or just after, really) memories. Completely changed the way a friend of mine - an already great drummer at the time - played, too. Loosened him up a lot.
I Will Remember is such a great song, but did anyone else see Geoff Tate in the documentary “Programming the Nation.” He was so insightful in it. I just love how this guy seems to be active in society rather than sitting on his money. bit. ly/pVmk9U
I have the whole uncut unedited concert and i do not believe the band killed it, because it was MORE then perfect 90 minutes of great music and wonderfull interacting between band and fans you can understand that that DVD is very precious to me and locked away in a safe like live in tokyo
Dio and Tate are much different signers but they are both great. I don't think it is possible to say that one is ''better'' than the other. I love both of them.
RFO is crucial to the hidden meaning in OM. The bat in the logo isn't there just to look cool. OM is much more subtle but the story continues: RFO: "..blood red streaks on velvet throats", "We'll walk in the shadows by day we'll live in a dream", "my lonely eyes see only your face at night", "Before the light, you must know...", "You have no mind to speak with my son. The sun!" OM: "she'd meet me on the other side, but I knew right then I'd never find her", "When all my dreams are crimes"
Mike Ousey , Hi Mike, you seem to know Queensryche pretty well. I've been racking my brain, trying to figure out the spoken part in Roads to Madness. You would happen to know what Geoff was saying, would you? From one Rycher to another, Thank you and Ryche n Roll!
It's always great to see the vocals live, especially when they are just as good as the recorded version. I'm glad that GT doesn't smoke (to my knowledge). It's always a shame when talented vocalists damage their voices from smoking or drugs. Both Freddie Mercury and Steve Walsh had better voices earlier in their careers.
one of if not best voices out there Tate hits highs as well as he hits lows I just wanna know when they(give blessing to a director) will do a Mindcrime movie?! no need for a script its already done via 2 albums, just some minor edits to get material with current times
Wow.. I remember... Opening act for Ratt... the Blotz, Geoff, Michael, Me, Vicky,Scott, Juan ... parkin lot.... go karts and then off to bowling lol... then back to the La Quinta in where Geoff told me that "Queensryche prolly wont amount to much , they prolly wouldnt make it " LOLOL>> yea right...
...There's a thought that fills your mind A vision of time When knowledge was confined And then we wonder how machines Can steal each other's dreams From points that are unseen...It's real...
There are lots of people with higher range, but few of them can even hold Tate's music stand. You are born with your range, it takes years and years and years to even get close to the talent Tate has.

Classic. When Queensryche was one of the best bands in the world. Love this song. Love Rage For Order.
That is the reason why Queensrÿche are a unique band that only exists once in a hundred years or so. Even today, with all the music industry totally reshaped and the use of advanced technology they've proved that not only can record inspirational music but be stronger than ever. Ryche 'n Roll
Everlastingly brilliant. Timeless beauty.
Chris and Michael had the greatest chemistry!!! Man, I miss those good ol' days!!
Absolutely amazing. Queensryche was and always will be one of my favorite bands.
Like countless others, my discovery of Queensryche helped me to look at things in myself and those things around me from an entirely different perspective. I might even say their music helped to shape who I am today. I can't thank them enough for the many years of incredible music and for sharing their gift with us all!
rage for order is such a good album
One of the most amazing voices in music today and I love this band! Such good variety of music and ya gotta love their ballads!! Rock on dudes!
no kidding, make with the dvd!
Awsome song. Geoff's vocals never cease to amaze.
Rage for Order for me always stay greatest record of Queensryche, that song most of the best things can hapened with music

best unplugged EVER !
i totally agree with you, geoffs voice is amazing when he sings this song, he hits every note perfectly, what a amazing singer
I just love his voice, so strong and pure...
listening to this song makes me feel like i'm flying through stars a summer night
really atmospheric
My favorite unplugged song out of all of them. 3:23 is amazing when Degarmo comes in and Tate hits that note flawlessly.
i beleve they are one of the most uderrated bands of the 80's. I only saw them live last year in Houston and was still amazed at his vocal range and talant. I only wish I could have seen them back in the 80's when concert were more theatrical...
Saw them perform unplugged live, in HMV London and met them just before watching their gig at at the Royal Albert Hall,,,,,,,,,,No greater band.
When they were at their peak
I notice that the really good musicians I have met love these guys...I would say they are musician's musicians
Wowwwwww this is the meaning of the verb to sing!!!
Damn..what A performance. Just played this song 15 times with the Record version and then came to perform this one. Everything is in tune and in tempo...perfect!!!!
Cheers!!!
One of their best songs and better than 99% of anything from the 80's and 90's or today.
best vocalist in rock hands down...
Building Empires (1992)

Geoff Tate's voice is so powerful. I love the unplugged sets so true and original.
What I like best about Geoff Tate (besides his vocal range) is when he is on stage you know he appreciates his audiences and shows it in his performance. Yeah! I went to the taping of this back in April of 1992. Got everbody's autograph. They were all very cool.
How awesome is that! One of the best! Miss you Chris! Queensryche Rocks!!
My fav Queensryche song. Chris really added that extra melody to this band that is missing today.
I wish I would have seen this show
when you can sing in eight octives anything is possible...
you know it.one of a kind voice.

Oh yeah...so this is what music sounds like.
Queensryche Unplugged was the very best of the Unplugged series, yet you can't find the thing on DVD anywhere.
BRING OUT THE DVD PLEASE
Great video. Great voice. That seems to be a hard song to sing, but Geoff had no problem because he can sing very well
I have the whole uncut unedited concert and i do not believe the band killed it, because it was MORE then perfect 90 minutes of great music and wonderfull interacting between band and fans you can understand that that DVD is very precious to me and locked away in a safe like live in tokyo
Now that's music
