- Easy way to remove a steering wheel without a steering wheel puller. Always make sure the battery is disconnect before removing the airbag. The vehicle in this video is an 07 f150 but this same procedure can be done on all makes and models.
I was struggling as I couldn’t get a puller, searched for a solution and got the right and perfect, thanks a lot
Phenomenal trick. Just finished replacing the turn signal switch in my 2004 F150, a task that requires removing the steering wheel to complete. This video was extremely helpful.
Thank you very much! Fantastic video.
You star!!! I’d tried hitting the centre spindle like another video showed but it didn’t work! Your method of smacking ten bells out of the steering wheel worked a treat. Thanks, you saved me a lot of stress!!
Thanks I'm actually in harbor freight trying to buy one!! I'm not a mechanic so I was trying to get the exact one that I saw on RUclips then I stumbled into your video!! Your lifesaver bro!!!
This worked great for my 2012 Accord! Thank you. Saved me a trip to the parts store for rental.
Wow Thanks Man
Been struggling with the puller and watched your video
Worked like magic
Thank you for video, just banged the wheel the way shown here, and it came lose, 2013 Toyota Corolla. I was ready to run out and get a puller, but this saved me time and money. Again much appreciated.
You all are so awesome. Praise the LORD Jesus for this video!!! Used a puller and the puller was getting stripped. You all helped so much. Thank you!
Omg I cannot believe that actually worked. I used a rubber mallet and it broke free! Thank u
Thanks man!!! I was contemplating renting a puller. NOT NO MORE 💪💪💪🤜🏻🤛🏻
thank you this worked on my 78 RV as I am currently stuck in a parking lot and need to replace an alternator and lock and cylinder
Wow. this saved me a trip to auto zone for a steering wheel puller 👍🏼
Great tip. Saved me a trip to the auto parts store. Thanks!
It worked perfectly, as shown. Thanks
Worked like a charm. Thank you, sir.
HOLY SHIT you are the man. You just saved me from hours of overthinking how to get it out. Great trick👍
You saved me a ton of time, thank you, kind sir.
You are a saint. Thank you. That made it so easy!!!!!! 😁
Dude. Your awesome. Thnku. I was freaking out about a dang puller.
I was trying to swap the steering wheels on 2 of my cars and this worked on both of them
Extremely helpful, thank you brother👍👍👍
Legend. It worked well on my Accord MK7. Thank you!🎉
I hit my steering wheel with a rubber mallet & it did the trick. thanks for the info!
Just took off my steering wheel from my stubborn 06 expedition thank you
Thank you so much man! It’s super useful!
Thank you very much man! Got it first try! Subbed
Works perfectly thank you so much.
Your FN Awesome , I used a dead blow - thank u sir !!!
Thank you, I really didn't want to buy another one off tool. A rubber mallet did just fine.
Yep this works no problem did it on my e34 bmw
Thank you!!
Nice thank you very much 👍👌👌👌👌🙏
thanks man ❤️
Thank you!
Thank you Sooo Much
Yes! Thank You!!!
Your Awesome !!!!
Thank you
Saved me some money 💰
It worked!
Thank you it works
Perfect!!
It is not working with my Chevy Aveo 2009. I will spray WD40 hoping it gets loose.
UPDATE: I did it. It needs some force and patience. Just don't rush it.
thank you!!
08’ Jeep Compass. I can get it to break free and slide free but it catches halfway out. Any ideas?
What’s the rod called that he pulled it off of I need to replace that to put a quick release in my car
My dude!
Totally saved my ass! Your method worked like a charm!
Appreciate the video!
I was actually at a junk yard today pulling a steering column off a honda, I didn't need the steering wheel or the air bag so i took the air bag off, loosen the center bolt, a couple of karate chops to the wheel and it popped right off. Works every time.
You awesome my man😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
🎉 Thanks!
My 94 f150 refuses to let it go. It even bent the bolts for the puller wtf
Some older american trucks are difficult, might want to keep spraying some wd40 or any penetrating fluid on the bolt for a few days till it loosens up.
Thanks man! I’ve been struggling with this damn puller for like an hour, then watched your video. I used a rubber mallet to hit it and BOOM, it worked!! Thanks again!
Sweet baby geezus! It worked on a 2008 Silverado. I used a dead blow at the 12 and 6 o'clock position.
Good shit bro. It really works.
Yeah totally thought that this was bs..but did it and Wow..thanks for the help
worked
How did you safely pull out the airbag?
Most times this will work but mines was pretty much frozen on, used a cheap puller and worked right away.
Legend
Fkn legend thank you
If I hit my steering wheel any harder I'll break something that wasn't broken before. Guess that tends to work better on wheels that have been previous removed. This steering wheels been on for 21 years and I've only had it a few years.
And to put the new column on I just hit it the same way?
Once its out the new one slides in easy
Thank you bro lol
Awseome
Rofl....Just beat the shit out of it, got it....I love it!
will it work for Mazda 626 LX 2001 4 cylinder Plz Answer me
It should work for any make and model, I have done this on hondas, hyundais, and fords, but it's all the same concept.
No luck. Tried that and it's still not going anywhere. Any suggestions?
Oh my god it WORKS. I did this to my 2005 Jeep Liberty 🗽
But all steering wheel not come out this
We need puller sometimes
Dude honestly I was doubtful… shit boi it worked like a fucking charm 😘
C'mon ASE, accept this method already!
Would this work on a 91 Sonoma
Its wort a try, some folks had trouble with older vehicles but I done close to 10 vehicle this way and it's always worked. Sometimes one can take just a bit more muscle but eventually it will give in.
most vehicles do not work this way
My 87 Toyota pickup steering wheel said I’m staying here forever 🤬🤬🤬
I have a 87 Toyota supra.. I got lucky with mine. But just run down to AutoZone and grab a slide hammer.. they should rent it out to u and give u a full refund. No questions asked brother
How do you remove the airbag lol
Definitely doesn’t work on my 1995 GMC Sierra it won’t even budge with a puller
Yup, some vehicles are just much more difficult, even with a tool. Just have to keep trying, eventually it will budge, maybe spray some wd40 in the center where the nut goes and let it soak for a day.
Didn’t work on my 1990 k2500
Same here 95 tahoe. These wheels dont like coming off
Would probably work for me if my wheel wasn't practically welded to the spindle from rust
Spray some wd40 on the spindle after removing the center nut and let it soak in for a day or two, should loosen up.
Mine too. Smh! And I just stripped my bolt
Use a baseball bat for extra effect! (actually pls don't, you could bash the windshield out)
😂👍
It doesn't always work that easy. I tried to us even a puller on my Ranger. The stearing wheel would not budge.
Joseph Caesar Padrón ya. Polaris rzr wheel wouldn’t budge. Snapped the welds on the puller without moving.
yeah... the car is 2 years old.... try that on a '60's made vehicle,... it wont get it.
Yeah I agree , a car that old would be a struggle.
Bro I smacked the shit out of it. Still doesnt come off. I even removed the nut completely and hit it. Nothing 😐😣now im exhausted
Try wd40 in the center nut , let it soak a bit.
Some steering wheels can be stuborn to the point that even with a puller they won't come off easy, especially in some older classics.
@@thebravoconnection946 oh thanks a lot Ill try that. Its a 2002 japan alto .❤️❤️
Yeah, no. Doesn't work on a stuck steering wheel. Period.
