You should have shown how you did the center bolt. Unfortunately all I got from this video is how to tighten a block of wood to the steering wheel.. stuck all day on it with a head injury and a video that leaves out the key pieces
BE SURE TO MENTION if your car has airbags, disconnect the battery FIRST - or - say your yr/make/model and that "you are doing to yours" if you've removed your airbag if applicable. NOBODY wants a surprise airbag deployment

What was the purpose of the nut on the back of bolt in center
It pushes the center bolt into the steering wheel shaft when tightened against the wood block, which in turn pulls the steering wheel off.

Yes, that would not be very nice. I disconnected the battery and there wasn't any airbag in it. Definitely forgot to mention it tho.
