That just got beat today with a mag. 4.8. Three months later. Buckle up!
We felt it here n Newburgh too
Same here but that was in new jersey
Yup we are 🔩
Bronx, NY this one really shook! Earthquakes here in NYC are barely noticeable since the early 80s.
Woodside, Queens here... I thought it was a big trailer truck till I looked outside
1.7 biggest quake in 22 years, 8 earthquakes in over a 50 year period. In California, we call that Tuesday.
I remember being stationed in cali and watching the wave roll across the desert. We had everything falling off the walls and lockers tipping over. A 1.7 is something you would barely feel. 😂
👍👍
A mag 1.7 compared to California quakes is like a fart.
They're not in California....
Lol as I was reading this comment, We just had one in Rancho 4.7
Saying that New York is in chaos by a 1.0 while Japan just had a 7.6 that decemated entire cities sure is....something.
To Bing 9076: A 7.6 in NYC? -- Them fart!
Repent before its too late, the end times are here and Jesus is returning.
the buildings were built to handle a little rain and beyond that they break.
It decimated nothing. Less than 50 people died, if the same happened in NYC, that number would be at least in the millions.
Yeah true it's like wtf😂oooooo 1.0 brace yourselves
People wouldn’t have even noticed. You can’t really feel anything less than a 2. You’d have to be literally lay on the ground waiting for it to happen to feel it.
Dear Black XX: Is this why buildings shook?
I was working in financial district NYC in one of those tall buildings back in 2013 and there was a very minimal earthquake, however because we where high we feel the building moving. It was honestly kinda scary and lots of us run down the stairs thinking it was another 911. So, yes you can totally feel it if you’re high enough.
I lived in queens years ago and my dogs starting growling and I then heard rumbling and watched the whole room sway !!!
The bedrock layers on the East Coast, are very smooth and even.Compared to the layers on the West Coast. So yes a 1.0 magnitude earthquake can be felt very easily.
@@eddyvideostar well yes, according to science magnitude 2 or less earthquakes are 99.99% of the time not felt. But I did read another comment below which suggested the geology of the region and/or topography of New York could result in some people being able to feel the vibrations more effectively.
My bed was shaking like crazy
I guess them tectonic plates are active under there this year 😳😂. I never felt no earthquake in New York in my 23 years of life but just 10 minutes ago I got my world rattled 😂.
Me too I’m so confused by this vid like if I had ever felt what I felt today I’d fucking remember it 😭😂
@@Neferkida facts!
Just felt a 4.8 while i was on the toilet
Felt it while I was taking a bite of my sandwich, shocked the heck out of me.
She had me rollin' when she said 1.7. In Cali, I can't sleep if I don't get rocked to bed by a 2.0 every night.
Scared the crap outta me!
It was 3 months ago relac
This was the biggest quake in 22 years? I remember a quake in 2011 too. The buildings were swaying so bad in the city my coworkers said they ran outside. I happened to be working from home that day and 100% felt the quake. That one was way stronger than this one here.
that initial boom today and the follow up tremors felt like the the start of 'the battle of new york'
just beat the record
April 5th - “hold my beer”
😂😂😂
😊
Given the reports of old buildings collapsing, this is not a good development :)
ROTFL... You must be a democrat...LOL... The "report" said "ONE building shook"... That is hardly "collapsing"... LOL... A 1.7...LOL... you're lucky if it "shakes" a puddle in the road...LOL
What a complete disaster that would be.
This is why you never go outside during an earthquake. Stay indoors.
"A 1.7 earthquake hits New York" meanwhile Japan... ☠
Who just felt this one!?!?
my dad's snoring is stronger than that 😂
Lmao 😂
I live in Cortland County and was in bed reading, I know I'm retired so I can read in bed late in the morning, and I felt the house move and the things on my bedside table rattled. It only lasted a few seconds. At first I thought it was snow sliding off the roof , but there wasn't any sign of it on the ground, and there is still a little snow on the roof. I'm 71 and have felt other quakes in this area.
just had another in brooklyn
Omggg I felt it too in Harlem! So that’s what it was wow 😮
And the Bronx! Just came here to look it up lol.
We only an hour from y'all here n Newburgh n we just felt it too
In happend in all the boroughs
This one was a 4.7!!
I feel like we are all gonna regret building skyscrapers at some point soon.
Yep
💯
Who’s we? I never built any
I already regret your parents didn't use birth control...
Uh, regretted in in 2001
We had a magnitude 4 earthquake in Cali just hours after Japan. My family and I just text each other and went back to sleep. My neighbors were doing early karaoke 😂It shows how use to it we are😢. if the big one happens we’re just going to ride it out, our house can’t withstand it anyways.
Great, at least it was not a nuke.
1.7 barely registers on the Richter scale. Like a few big rigs rolling through the streets of Manhattan. This was cute I know they just want to include NYC on the list of recent quakes in Japan and Cali. Ok they can join the list we love NYC.
I just felt it while I was on the phone. I was trying to be all professional. I couldn't hold it in. I was like WTF is that? You felt that?
I remember the last earthquake when the epicenter was near the Canadian border.
Was that in the early 90’s ??
I remember one in the early 90s when I was in Montreal….
There was one in 2011. These idiots forgot 😂
How the heck do you feel a 1.4 mg earthquake???? In Vancouver bc Canada we felt a 4.2 mg from Seattle and could barely feel it and only a couple of people in the city reported an earthquake
im just outside manhattan and felt nothing, i felt the quake in DC from here though
Bedrock
Well I hope it won’t make a tsunami
Kinda weird Japan now NYC 😮
not really weird. there's always an earthquake happening somewhere. And 1.7 is nothing.
You forgot Maryland. They received a magnitude of 2.3 early in the morning today.
Earthquake in New York city🫣 (taller buildings)JESUS🙏
We just had one another one 50 minutes ago, 4.7 magnitude
I called several people in different areas and they all felt it
The first time an earthquake hit NYC.
ROTFL... A 1.7???? LOL... Seriously... y'all went off the deep end with your political "reporting" a long time ago and now you want to do it with earth anomalies...LOL
"IT" has begun.
COME LORD JESUS COME 🙏
ya'll say that, every year. It's boring.
@@jacquelinewood714 Jesus is dead Good luck.
SAD
NYC and Northern NJ and Ct are screwed.
Yep. Just imagine if it was a stronger magnitude smh like 7 or 8.4
Jesus have mercy on us 🙏🏽😥
1.7 ? That was just some bros dancing 😅
My whole house was shaking in lower Manhattan
There are " Houses" in lower Manhattan? Lol
Fox News: We'll say anything to get you to click
In California unless its a5.0 it's nothing but a sneeze
1.7? That doesn't even count as a earthquake, the earth shakes more when lizzo farts.
Omg I hope everyone is safe
giggle from California🤣
What was the magnitude for the Earthquake in 2011?
That one was more powerful. They forgot 😂
about 9.0 bro
@@user-ii4yr2zs6i I was talking about NYC.There was a earthquake back in August of 2011.The 9.0 was in Japan March of 2011.Thx for your response though.
Well we just beat that
1.7? Is it laughable?
It is indeed :)
I guess Godzilla had too much to Eat.
NYC's so bad that even Gozilla's about to wake up and get the hell outta there.
meanwhile in cali:
“did you feel that?”
“yeah. guess the down stairs neighbors are having the night of their life.”
In other news I shook a 12 ounce bottle of Coke and opened the cap to a loud fizzing pop.
😂😂😂😂
1.7 ?😅😅😅😅😅
In summer of 1980 or 1982 there was a small earthquake in NYC , I was in the apartment on 16 street and 6 Avenue 2floor in the kitchen everything was shak8ng, all the glass and the cups were on 5he floor, I thought a big truck speed by on our street, later I was told it was a quake 😂
Yup I remember that one and in 2011 too
Strongest since Tesla tested his Earth quake Machine 🤺😹
In NYC an earthquake is the least of your worries.
We just had one 50 minutes ago, 4.7
Meanwhile in Japan...
A DUMP TRUCK registers higher than 1.7... When it hits 4 , THEN you can tell us all about the mayhem.
Just want to let you know, NYC had a 4.8 today.. it happened.
Aside from the possibility that Optimus Prime landed,... the east coast experiences movement every year during January, and this can be verified by examining water main breaks from Maine to Cleveland. During the time of cardinal earth,... everything shifts as the magnetic pull, yanks the east coast toward the Atlantic,.. this long term product is easily visible looking at a Topo map of Pennsylvania.
Lol
if it's still a city, it's not strong enough.
It happened again in Harlem a few minutes ago!
We also had a 2.3 earthquake here in Maryland today also.
I California that's the same as a large truck going down the street
@@nayadedecumbe7407 We have earthquakes every now and then they're so weak you can't feel them the biggest we had was back in 2011.
1.8? Are you kidding me? This is worth the news?
Watch that USGS doesn't list quakes under 2. That hides frequent, low movements
You can adjust the settings on their web page to see even dinky little quakes like this one.
What is REALLY threatening to that area is the amount it's continually sinking into the Ocean, and in 25 years a lot of coastline will be under water.
That's exactly what Al Gore said about what was going to happened in Florida by 2020. 😂
@@nayadedecumbe7407 They've been documenting the sinking every year, so it's not like Al Gore's B.S.
It wasn’t an earthquake. It was Climate activists all dispersing methane at the same time. 😂
Wasn't there an earthquake here in 2011?
Yes there was I felt that one and there was one I felt in around 1976
August of 2011.Then later that a week was a Hurricane/Tropical Storm.
we just felt one here in brooklyn!!
In the past 3-4 years , over 4500 per year... That's 12.3 per Day Worldwide
Someone is not happy! Volcanoes in Iceland, Earthquakes in Japan and NY, Tsunami waves in California, Swarms of locusts in Mecca, Floods in Europe and airplanes colliding! What is HE trying to tell us?
his tummy hurts
Nothing because he ain’t there🤣🤣🤣
He is saying that He is about to Rapture His children out of here.
Referring to God as a "HE" is ignorance at best. And I'm a man.
@@elconoetupepa so what is HE then lmfao
I You missed one. I felt one in the 80‘s in the early morning. Glasses shook in a cabinet.
Not anymore
maybe rippled a puddle & shook a few coffee cups but still
It’s all the underground bunkers
what does that mean?
Yeah they will get buried in them.
1.7 isn’t going to raise a feather in California - I have never felt an earthquake that small and am a California native….they occur all the time and you cannot feel them. If your building is shaking from that it’s not structurally sound.
That little island had an earthquake? Y’all better get off that island. ASAP. One snap and it’s a wrap.
next week it would be San Frisco.
Is this serious? You can't even feel an earthquake that small.
It should be stronger.
tawin & nj nyc.. hell on earth.
Wow. Here in NewZealand we get stronger earthquakes than that daily.
What a bunch of drama queens….. a 1.2 wouldn’t make the chandeliers move
Wow,,what a news,I am pissing myself..Yep I will pray for NY,that was devastating...
Wake up call for what coming
Amen
Amen
What’s coming? Since you know it all lmfao, so please tell us what’s coming. And don’t give me no lecture from a book because that has zero relevance to this
Ya'll said Jesus was coming back in year 2000. Ya'll said he was coming in 2010. Over and over, he's a no-show. When will you give up this game?
@@CM-xr9oq “Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap” ~ Galations 6:7. He may come anytime. It's not a matter of when, it's about "what" we'll be doing at that very moment, that very second when the coming of Christ is upon us.
i am in EAST ELMHURST.. WOKE ME UP.,., THAT'S CRAZY
1.7 wtf it's not worth the news mate.
Got to be 3.00 or dont wake me
Bruh how come i dont remember
How nice if it is 7.1
another one just hit Astoria today
How about explaining how hasrp has an effect on volcano's and earthquakes so people will really understand what is going on 🤔
Did you mean HAARP? That has noting to do with what happens on Earth. HAARP is the world's most capable high-power, high-frequency transmitter for study of the ionosphere.
In case you didn't know, the Ionosphere has nothing to do with weather on Earth.
The absorption of radiation in the thermosphere is also responsible for the ionosphere, which is made of electrically charged (ionized) gas particles. The ionosphere is located within the thermosphere and extends from 37 to 190 miles (60-300 km) above the Earth's surface.
Did you ever pickup a radio or TV station from across the country? That is the signal bounce off the ionosphere. Known as "skip" to CB Radio users.
Definitely need an electric car to stop all the earthquakes. Slow news day?
IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY!!!!! AND SCHOOL IS NOT CANCELED!!!!!
The after shocks will come
LOL, 1.7? 1. It's like a baby's fart in the air.
Dats nuthin
We just beat that record
Bro they pour out these stories now that Japan had a earthquake just so they can have something to talk about and stay updated lol.
