Her running mate has to be a str8, white, male from a swing state to have any chance of winning. That pretty much narrows it down to Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania or Mark Kelly from Arizona. However Shapiro is Jewish so that rules him out. Leaving Mark Kelly as the only option.
She is unlikely to choose a Senator as Dems need to hold as many seats as possible. Most likely and Governor or Cabinet member.

It doesn't make any sense to try a Primary! The Convention is the obvious place to choose. There are delegates from every state. They are chosen by the party by a long standing process.

It is globally connected, and one of the many reasons why it's a world superpower. We've already seen from past history that attempting to ignore global problems won't shield from being affected. The US economy is interlinked with engagement oversees, including its security. You would be dealing with more significant problems if the US cuts itself off from global interaction. I personally think that Kamala Harris' running mate should be a man.

You know there were seven Republican Senators who voted to convict Trump for January 6th, right? Many of them were ousted from office, but some are still serving. The Democratic Party lacks the energy and excitement of the Obama era. Bernie Sanders would be a good choice if he wasn't 82. A younger Bernie, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, would bring some excitement for change. Alternatively, Kamala Harris could compromise and choose an anti-Trump Republican, potentially stealing votes from Republicans who also dislike Trump. Either way, selecting an ordinary Democrat from the current list would be a mistake.

I think I should correct what you wrote if you don't mind. Kamala is a 59 year old woman who was California Attorney General and Vice President. Her mom passed away and was a breast cancer researcher. Her name was Shyamala Gopalan and was born in southern India. She studied at Berkeley University. Her father, Donald Harris, was born in Jamaica, attended Berkely where he met Shyamala and was an economist. Kamala's parents grew up during WWII and experienced the rise of McCarthyism, the Cold War, Korean and Vietnam wars, and all that occurred during the 60 and 70's as Kamala grew to an adult. The significance of this is, for me, the appropriateness of her perspective development from the old ways Biden and Trump derive their plans for the country from, and instead, hers would be the more progressive, anti-old school ways of building policy for the country. You state one line which defines the ticket as Girl and Gay Boy. The Kamala ticket will not be defined by such a simple, diminishing, derogatory statement. Kamala is a powerful, effective, accomplished, African American Asian Woman Presidential Candidate. If Pete Buttigieg does become her running mate, he would be defined as a very logical, incredibly effective, accomplished, former naval officer, graduate of Harvard College and the University of Oxford, on a Rhodes Scholarship, and Secretary of Transportation who is married to a man.
