Can't agree with best overall. RX 5700 XT's power consumption is too high for a 7nm chip. Just imagine a 2070 Super at 7nm; it would probably be a 125W card, 150W at worst.

I don't understand the "enthusiast" award at all. I've always understood enthusiast to mean top of the line... Or very near top end. In what world is a 5700 non XT an enthusiast GPU? Are they saying that it can be "tuned" or OC'd well? If so, that still is not what most people consider enthusiast category. Comparing a 5700 and a 2080ti Kingpin for enthusiast category is just absurd imo. Newer PC builders would really be thrown off here....

And I still have not upgraded because of how sad I was about that. I've started looking back into it now because I want to play RE2 at a decent level, but in fact each day something else is going out of stock (GPU, CPU, m2 SSDs, even cases and the apparently only b450 motherboard with integrated wifi i.e. MSI gaming carbon) so I'll probably have to wait after christmas. And to top it all, amd's 2020 edition drivers are currently a disaster, to the point I'm wondering whether I should even buy the 5700 xt in the first place, even though it's price-to-performance on paper is miles ahead.

I'm very happy to see some budget GPUs being optimized for 1080p settings at even High graphics. Especially with energy efficiency. I appreciate smaller builds now, with much smaller energy footprints. It saves power for other things, and I don't have to worry about random circuit breaker issues in winter (heaters cost a lot of energy). In this way I can get better quality monitors/TVs and play games clear with higher Hertz and still have clear image quality. I've been using a 1660 Ti (which isn't budget per se, but very energy efficient for the power) recently and it's nice being able to take my PC to a friend's house or otherwise with no fuss. I can even transfer it between rooms with little effort. I'm very excited for the mini-console style PC builds that might be possible in the future, so long as they still let me mod my build, we cool.

Yeah, kind of. For a good price and with a decent amount of warranty: Yes, But judging by average prices on ebay (sold listings), it's more expensive than a 5700XT and comes with the few risks of buying used besides having less (or no) warranty. The 1080ti is better than the 5700XT, but not so much that I would just give out a general advice to buy the 1080ti over the 5700XT.
I've bought my old 980ti Hybrid, all of my RAM in the last 10 years and a 4790K, R7 1700, (plus mobos) and countless of hardware for family/friends used in recent years, but right now it's a weird time for used GPUs to be honest. Especially the 5700 series offers such great price/performance, that it's not easy to find good used deals for the older generations in that price and/or performance range.

Hey Steve man, are there any driver overhead problems using AMD gpus with older cpus? I have an i7-4770, which is kind of lower end by today's standards, and am worried about DX11 games not performing well because of the driver overhead problem AMD had with their GCN cards when paired with lower end cpus. If I had a better cpu then RX 5700 over RTX 2060 Super would seem like a no brainer choice, but I'm wondering if I'm better off with 2060 Super when paired with the lower end cpu (i7-4770).

I plan on getting an rx 5700, is it worth it? cant get 100$ more for xt. 5700 goes for 350$ where im from and thats already above my budget but seems to be pretty good.

Tat's what I stopped on, but there's literally only two places you can buy them in my country so I hope I can snatch one in a couple of months when I am ready to go with the build. I can tell my rig is struggling when even playing Fallen Jedi. Need more ram and a better processor, but the motherboard gotta be right first!

I went with a 1660 Super a couple weeks back for a budget build I whipped up. No complaints for the price, it's great for 1080p. I'll certainly upgrade when I finally upgrade my monitor. Until then, I decided to save money and just get what I needed for now. Great roundup. Maybe I'll get into the ray tracing at some point.

I don't have one yet but it's the most compelling card to buy in 2019. The 2070 regular might have been expensive at its launch but the 2070s is the same price as it was launched at and has significantly better performance.

@Brandon S dude, were you paying attention to my comment? lol I was asking if its WORTH IT to get an 2600 and 5700 xt for 1080 gaming assuming its more than enough for 1080p and mostly fits into 1440p gaming so I wasn't asking if it will run 1080p lol, as you mentioned in your edited post that I should buy a cheaper card, yup thats what I did, I bought a 1660super instead which gives all my 1080p needs.

Does Vega VII support Xfire now? The XFX product listing on Newegg claims it does, did they unlock this? And is it 2x limited like Vega 64 or is it the full 4x?
I run 4x Fury, it’s over 2x faster than my Titan Xp and would only be a side-grade getting 2x 2080ti. I also want the 16 GB Vram for triple 4k (if you thought sub 60 fps was bad at 4k on a 2080ti, prepare your eyes as they bleed at 15-20 fps on triple 4k...), I can get 4x for cheaper than a single Titan RTX!
