    Article w/ additional testing information: www.gamersnexu...
    This benchmark tests NVIDIA's new RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super cards for review. The 2060 Super vs. 2060 and 2070 Super vs. 2080 lineups are of the most interest, with additional interesting match-ups when compared to AMD's Radeon VII and Vega 56 cards. We're also looking forward to AMD RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 Navi GPU reviews, but NVIDIA's Super launches about a week earlier than the new AMD parts. The NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super price should be $400, with the RTX 2060 still selling at an MSRP floor of $350. The RTX 2070 Super price will be $500, with the RTX 2070 non-Super card being phased out, alongside the RTX 2080 non-Super card. As for RTX 2060 Super & 2070 Super specs, those are shown in a chart in our video review, but also available at the article linked above.
    Our NVIDIA RTX Super benchmarks include power consumption tests, thermal/temperature testing, noise and acoustic testing, gaming benchmarks (now with DirectX 12, DirectX 11, and Vulkan benchmarks), and power consumption, now tested with just GPU 12V power isolated.

    Note: NVIDIA has made a last-minute change (literally). While some of the 2070 Supers will have "5 or 6" GPCs, the company decided to only fuse them off to 6 GPCs going forward, so that "5" number should be pretty rare to encounter after the initial batch, if ever.

      @@ccgert Well you can, considering that Navi currently doesn't look too competitive regarding price and features. Not to mention that the Super RTX cards are starting steal the spotlight. Next gen-Navi cards are rumored to be better and support a more mature ray-tracing, however, so it might be worth to wait till next year for next gen Navi.

    • @nemtudom5074
      @nemtudom5074 5 лет назад +7

      Kinda. Objectively speaking, Navi needs to do atleast as good in terms of raw power and performance as the original 16/20 series cards, AND more, to compensate for the lack of ray tracing. If the navi cards perform on par with the 16/20 series cards, navi is going to be a flop, because objectively, Nvidia still provides more, for the same price. AMD needs to deliver either ray tracing, or better performance to make up for the lack of ray tracing.
      I doubt they will be to compete with super turing cards tho right now... I can see navi outperforming turing to compensate for the lack of Ray tracing, but i doubt it will be able to even compete with super cards. Which means for the next 3-8 months, Nvidia is still going to be top dog.

    I bought the MSI Trio X 2080 for 800€ on the 1st of November 2018. It's been 8 months and I am barely tilted by the price drop. There is always something better around the corner in tech. AMD's NAVI 2019 looks to be a bad choice so far, but the PRICING also matters. The main reasons to consider NAVI would be:
    a) if you think 8GB matters more than 6GB for a NAVI card that competes with RTX2060 card (so the NAVI card might have 8GB but the RTX2060 has the RT/Tensor cores. Both the extra VRAM and the RT/Tensor cores will get increasingly utilized as time goes by so it's a tough choice. I really don't think 6GB is quite enough but I also think RT/Tensor will start showing its value in 2021 after the consoles launch which are rumored to do ray-tracing reasonably often so we can expect hardware-based ray tracing for cross-platform PC games, or
    b) You have a FREESYNC monitor that doesn't support GSync (there are GSync compatible Freesync monitors which means NVidia added driver support for some Freesync monitors that will work fine with GSync cards. Many don't, especially if they don't support LFC.)
    c) If the NAVI FPS per Dollar value is higher.
    *Personally, for any NVidia RTX2000 series with at least 8GB of VRAM I'd buy it over AMD NAVI even if the Dollar per FPS is slightly higher because of the added RT/Tensor value. At the same price I'd say if it gets 90% of the performance on average of NAVI I'd get an RTX2000 card (Super or not, though preferably Super due to the slight improvements).

    Sorry Steve, love the channel but I can't agree that Nvidia got the memo on pricing. This is a massive price hike for a **60 series card. $399 for a **60 class FE card is not value (so the aftermarket cards will be between $449 & $499?). They are price gouging, nothing more.
    Will wait for Navi reviews, then if as expected it too is overpriced, will wait for team blue next year! I'm not paying $449 for a **60 class card, and will stick with my 1060 6GB and wait until it fails if they are goanna carry on like this!
    Great in-depth review otherwise, thanks!

      This is the reason why Nvidia won't discontinue the RTX 2060 non-super, even tho $400 is still expensive for what should be the entry level card in the lineup, but the thing is, the 2060 Super is on pair with the RTX 2070 non-super all across the board so I guess its performance justifies its pricing, or at least that's what Nvidia thinks.

    • @CrimsonKobaNakirigumi
      @CrimsonKobaNakirigumi 5 лет назад

      @@downwiththatsortofthing624 No, I don't see any false analogy because I said that that's what Nvidia thinks. The price bump started with the original RTX series, so similar pricing was to be expected, and the original 2060 will maybe go down on price.
      Also the 780 ti is two generations older than your card lol, meanwhile the 2060 Super and the 2070 have the same architecture and the latter isn't even a year older. Your comparison makes no fucking sense.

      If I was in the market for that price range I would have bought the vega 7 over the 2080. I have a vega 64 and games perfectly fine on 4k ultra. So...the vega 7 being more powerful plus WAY more ram and better ram, that card is more future proof than the 2080. Only thing nvidia has over the vega 7 is ray tracing. However their ray tracing won't ever catch on. So the vega 7 would have been the smarter buy.

Of course they're not gonna destroy them in sales. Considering the way the stock market works, I don't think we'll see AMD destroying nVidia (or Intel, for that matter) in sales in the next 10 years. The stock market rewards slow steady growth. And when the owners of the company are the biggest stakeholders, the slower and the steadier the better.
