Thank you for taking the time comparing all of those litters. I thought it was so funny watching your cat look at his box. Hes probably thinking what the heck something different again? Lol
Glad you are happy with it. I started with Slide, but switched to A&H Multi-cat when I found it cheaper at a local market. They don't carry Slide. Happy Feline Friday!
As a cat caregiver, my favorite is World's Best (light, easy to scoop, minimal mess, odor control) & my least favorite is Feline Pine (ugh the sifting & dislike the smell)!
I took the advice of my sister and got the Tidy Cat clumping litter, it was awful. My kitty did not like it he would be throwing litter around he wasn't pleased at all. It smelled awful as well! After watching a couple of these types of videos, I tried Arm and Hammer multi cat clumping litter and omg my Cobain and I absolutely love it! Great odor control and very little tracking 👏 👍. Affordable as well! He's a happy boy and mommy is too! 😸😊
Cats are actually allergic to lavender so I don’t even know why they sell lavender-scented litter. I found this out after the fact but my poor little kitty was always sneezing after using the litterbox. It’s been Dr. Elsey’s unscented for me ever since
Great point! Interestingly they don't list lavender as an ingredient, so I'm not sure if there is real lavender or just a fragrance. I'm sorry to hear your cat had a bad reaction to it, either way! I'm glad Dr. Elsey's is working well for you!
My cat loves the Boxie litter cause it’s gentle on his paws and doesn’t bother his nose. I guess for the same reasons it may be a poor experience for the cat owner (tracking and weak masking) are the very same reasons a cat might enjoy it (gentle on paws, odorless). I also put a large litter mat under his litter that traps litter pieces stuck to the paws and his litter is in an unused corner of the house so I don’t experience the extent of issues you experienced. Nevertheless great vid!
I would love if you included how dusty each litter is. I'm not concerned about tracking as much as I am dust. I use Arm & Hammer Litter Cloud Control Platinum and so far it's the least dusty I've tried.
Agreed. Clay litters are usually super-dusty. And I've tried silica litters in the past, and they're usually OK for the first week, but after that they seem to break down and the act of scooping will send huge plumes of (noxious) dust into the air. My best for dust, so far, have been the grass/wheat-based litters, like SmartCat. They're also good at clumping, and decent for odor control. Unfortunately, they're *terrible* for tracking...
@@IanPrestyes I loved smart cat since there’s no cloud, clumps well, it’s non clay less smell and the cat likes it. But it does track. It’s so soft and small it gets in their paws and they carry it around found it even in my bed. So now I’m back to looking for another option. Sigh. Why can’t we have all the features we need all in one. Sigh.
@@tara_27244 I'm trying "Really Great Cat Litter" right now (soy/tofu-based). Kind of expensive, but it might hit that sweet spot for me. Good clumping, good dust control, low tracking. Only real downside (other than price) is that the odor control is somewhat worse than the grass-based litters. But not too bad, so far.
I’ve been using Skoon non-clumping litter for almost a year and I’ll never go back. It’s extremely expensive, but the odor control is superb (comes in unscented) and there is absolutely no tracking, except for a few bits right around the litter box. This litter with stainless steel boxes has completely changed my life (and my cats haven’t complained).
Great reviews on all the cat litters. The last one that provided a box with the litter surprised me because if a liner isn't used, the cat waste would definitely seep through and cause a major odor issue. And the price point along with having to constantly change boxes? That would be a no go for me. Too much waste and expense. What has worked for my cat is a stainless steel litter box and tidy cat unscented. I learned from Jackson Galaxy's channel that cats don't favor scented litter.
Enjoyable video. I use Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat clumping litter (the red label). It has baking soda, of course, for odor control, and is a fine grain. Very little tracking from my two cats. A mostly homemade diet also helps with preventing odors. Instead of filling the litter box with litter, I make a mound in the middle. The cats naturally go to that. Saves a lot of litter. I top off as needed, after scooping out the clumps. I pay $10.99 for a 20 lb. box at a local grocery store. It is often on sale for $8.99. Happy Feline Friday!
Agreed 💯! I and my Cobain disliked the Tidy Cat clumping litter. It was everywhere and it smelled bad! Arm and Hammer clumping is excellent in odor control and hardly tracks anywhere. Good product 👌.
To use wood litter effectively you need a sifting litter box. With my cat I only get literally 2 or 3 pieces outside the sifting litter box as pine pellets are large. The pieces exiting the litter box are from her digging and covering and not from tracking. The pieces are too big to track.
Arm & Hammer double duty hard clump has worked well for me. Competitive pricing and was much better than Purina instant action. Purina odor control was bad and tracked all over the house. Crazy part was it cost about $4 more for 5lbs less
If you find the silica litter tough on your feet just imagine what the poor cats feel. I personally would never use any litter that has "scent" in it to mask odor. If the box is kept clean there won't be lingering odor. Thanks for the video.
I use World's Best (red bag). Its not advertised as non tracking, but trust me it is non tracking and the best odor control of any of the roughly dozen brands I've tried over the years.
@@talonandersen9514 same. I came to this video because I hate World's Best. It used to be good, so maybe they changed the formula or something. Either way, I'm switching lol
Also, instead of a vacuum, I find a lobby broom and pan to be a more effective in a daily cleanup before and after scooping the litter box; hand held vacuum cleaners have to be emptied immediately.
I was using World’s Best for a while because I wanted a flushable clumping litter, but the tracking was really bad. I was vacuuming around the litter box (high-sided) at least twice per day and would even notice little dusty paw prints on dark rugs and furniture in other rooms. I switched to Really Great cat litter and it has been really great… tracking is so much better! It’s still flushable and clumping. And if there are any pieces, that make it outside the litter box, they’re super easy to clean up. There are also no more dusty paw prints anywhere. My only issues with Really Great have been the price (which is comparable to other tofu litters), the subscription service is a little annoying (although they’re customer service is amazing!), and it’s not the easiest litter to scoop. I was considering trying the Catit litter as a slightly cheaper option than tofu litter, but the fact that it’s scented makes me hesitant.
I tried the catit lavender and love it!!! I was using the lightweight avrage arm anx hammer type clumping carlitter and was just so si k of the dust everywhere and tracking and smell. Im contemplating trying the sylica also want to say worlds best lavender is really good to. Its a huge step up from the cheep dusty arm and hammer type.
I use Petsafe scoop-free crystals $$ as well as Fresh Step crystals $$$. The only difference is the price. I love them both as the crystals absorb the moisture out of the poop, rendering it odorless pretty quickly. It lasts much longer than clay and it only tracks - in my situation - due to my cats being 14 months and 7 months old. They literally run out of the box after doing their business. Not much can be done about that.
Gordon doesn't seem to mind them, and they make it much easier when I'm testing various litters back to back. I may try to go without them though and see how it goes!
I’ve had cats for over 25 years, never ever had a problem using cat liners. Yes, sometimes their claws puncture the plastic and every once in a while you have to clean out the entire litter box because of pee leaking through. But that rarely happens and compared to all the other days that this doesn’t happen- it makes it so much easier to dispose of the waste & clean the litter box out. **If your cat is having potty accidents in the house then maybe the liner is the issue or it could be a health problem. But as stated earlier, that mine have all used a liner in their box and it has not ever been an issue. Hopefully this info. is helpful.😊
Clumping cat litter is the best for us & our two cats. Tracking can be a problem. My cats won’t use a litter mat. Instead, they jump right over it. One jumps into an adjacent tub. The other jumps right in front of my vanity. We need to vacuum on an almost daily basis. But our litter boxes do not smell if we keep them relatively clean (every two days). Is there a type of litter mat that cats actually will use?
We use Boxie Cat and love the oderless litter. It doesn't cause a bad smell either (so good oder control for us), and 6 cats prefer it over other clay litters. It has almost no tracking, but we do use a litter mat with holes to catch "escapees." The best thing about this litter is that it is dust free, unlike others that claim to be but aren't.
For years, we were stuck on "Yesterday's News" until Purina closed the plant that made it. Okocat was the next best, but when our one older kitty began going outside the box, we wrongly thought it was the litter and we changed over to Elsey's despite our dislike of the environmental effects of clay litter. When we discovered that the problem wasn't actually the litter, but that our kitty was having other health problems (she's much better now), we began adding in Okocat again to her Elsey's to make the transition. Actually, we're finding that the Okocat is working at reducing the odor that you get from Elsey's. Anyway, we're now looking at the paper version of Okocat now that it's available and we'll see how that works. Also, we scoop into a 2.5 gallon Ziploc bag from each litter box. It's perfect for odor control and we throw it out after a week. Also: never use scented litter.
I use a different Tidy Cats. The standard throw the whole works out, non-scented one. It used to be great. About 20 years ago it tracking became awful. I didn't have a problem at all before this. A couple of my cats were getting old so I though this was why. But once they were gone I was still having the problem. What did they change that the quality went down?
I used to use that litter, but then couldn't find it for the longest time. I ended up switching to grass litter. Absolutely no dust, great on odor, but it does track.
@@jeannettebarnes2193 I didn't see it for awhile. I get it at Walmart. Sometimes, I get the Cats Pride Scoopable in the white container, although it is a little too fragrant for me.
Anyone care to exchange ideas, I have one for tracking and I need suggestions for a problem with my sweet female who's recently started a troublesome litter pan habit. First: To catch any tracking, I created a custom mat to catch the tracking when the cat first steps out. I use a couple of the rubber tiles (they have numerous holes punched out; the tiles snap together like puzzle pieces as used on shower floors and around swimming pools to prevent slipping and allow drainage; beneath that rubber mat I add a disposable bed pad (for incontinence) to catch the litter that falls through the tiles and to absorb any urine when my little lady forgets to enter the litter pan far enough to keep all urine inside the pan. The rubber tiles are easily rinsed off as needed. If anyone has any ideas as to how to encourage or coax my girl to walk further into the litter pan I'd be grateful, Just recently she started this habit of not going far enough into the pan to keep her urine inside the pan, her back end is too close to the entry of the pan and there's no door on it, when she urinates it all sprays right back through the open entry to the pan and all over the floor. I have a very large very tall, covered litter pan, so there's plenty of room inside; other than creating some kind of a plastic curtain to serve as a door, I don't know what to do. Anyone have ideas to coax her deeper into the litter pan?
Hi, my foster cat tends to kick litter out if he’s too close to the entry so I had a somewhat similar situation. I got a really gigantic litter pan too, and what I found helped was keeping the area right in front of the entry free of litter so that he has to go deeper in. Now that he’s used to it I find I don’t have to do that as much anymore
@@calexprenas Thank you for the suggestion, I'll give that a try. IAnother suggestion I found online was to hang something of interest in the rear of the pan to coax her further in. It's such a problem! I just don't get, she never did this before, just a brand new habit out of the blue. Thank you again!
I mix Sustainably Yours large grain and Boxie Cat Eco. It does track but with the large grain it’s really not that bad. It also has great odor control and clumps well. We use our KattekopLiner so litter refresh is super easy because I don’t have to scrub my 5 cats boxes. Another thing that’s great about the Boxie Cat Eco is it’s not heavy like the clay litter.
I've been using Kitty-poo with the silicone litter. My cat is a fluffy, long haired boy and he tracks this litter badly. The pieces do hurt to step on. The order control is great.
Fresh Step Clean Paws is the best clay litter Ive tried. I always buy unscented and even though this one does have a bit of a scent it's not a scented scent. Doesn't really track at all, it's just a great litter.
I switched from tidy cats clumping litter to Dr Elsey’s unscented clumping litter and it is so much better! Dr Elsey’s clump’s better and leaves the litter box so much cleaner and that means it cuts down on odor better. It also tracks a lot less since the pieces are bigger than tidy cats. The best part is that it’s cheaper! 😄
I caught my cats holding cat litter in-between they paws after leaving box now im wondering if they actually spread it on purpose because they like seeing me sweep.
I've been using the Fresh Step Clean Paws for months. It's great for odor control, but I have hard floors and long haired cats. I didn't notice much of reduction in tracking from the original Fresh Step Unscented I was using previously. I recently decided to try the new Tidy Cat Tidy Feet because it's a little bit cheaper. I didn't notice any difference in tracking then the Fresh Step, but I did notice it doesn't do as good of a job at odor control. I do prefer the jug packaging of the Tidy Cat, over the boxes with Fresh Step. I will probably go back to The Fresh Step.
It’s been such a challenge to find a good litter that works for my cats and for me. Glide clumps on my cats’ paws, Featherlight is easy to scoop (I have arthritis in my wrist) but like the lightweight one here you mentioned, it tracks everywhere. I’m going to try the Clean Paws and hope for the best.
Hey! This video was helpful thank you so much for making it! Some thoughts on my experience with litters. I’m looking into other litters because I had the tuft and paw litter for my cat and I actually really liked it but I live in a humid climate and when summer hit and I kept my window open it got SUPER STINKY could smell pee throughout the whole apartment 😭. It barely tracked and I loved being able to put it in the toilet if needed. But the smell was the main reason why I’m looking into a new option. Also my cat thought it was food at first definitely got to mix the old litter in! I’m trying tidy cats again which is what I used for my previous cat actually ☺️ which is probably what I’m going to switch to for my cat Nova. Really the only thing I don’t love about it is the tracking but this is the first time I’m trying the non tracking one so it might be better. ✨
I love the boxie cat. But i have only been using the pro (navy blue bag). We have switched many litters and we loved the boxiecat pro. Minimal tracking, easy to scoop and odor control
Most everyone I know is experiencing hardships with thier finances these days. I do see people at the store spending ridiculous prices on tiny containers of litter. I have used tidycat for at least 50 years. It controls odor as much as you could expect it to....I clean my boxes once a day an always expect to shake out the adult bed liner they sit on an maybe need to wisk broom a tiny bit as well. It DOES NOT get tracked away from the box an I refuse to pay more than 10 dollars for something that goes in the trash everyday!
You said the grey litter wasn't as noticeable. How about when you end up stepping on it and it crushes into a bigger mess? I dont think that "noticeability" is a good criteria for reviewing a litter.
@@kittymeowmeow1213 No .. didn't like the litter . .. I changed it to Cats Pride unscented clumping litter bought it on Amazon and he's ok with this one. ..

The best litter is clumping litter with a light color no matter what I have tried pine walnut wood corn the best is clumping for me. Tracking is always there but less with mat and sweeping Boxie cat is to expensive Tidy cat is pretty good.
I am more concerned with dust because unfortunately, I have to have a litter box in the bedroom because I have an open floorplan. Is the fresh step clean paws dust free? I swear they all say 99% dust free but they lie.
The catit vanilla is very low smell. I'm not a fan of the smell of the lavender. (I'm sensitive to smells). I currently use Substainably yours large grain. My mother has two cats, uses World’s Best and is very happy with it. I have two and use Dr. Elsey’s; my experience matches the reviewer’s. I am interested in Scoop Away brand which is sold by Costco.
If you ever test litter again please please try Boxie Cat Pro. It is scent free but has probiotics in it and has great oder control. My family noticed the difference in my apartment so much that they switched to it as well. Seriously worth testing it. I dont buy any other litter. I dont even buy the other Boxie Cat litters.
I used Dr Elsey for a year or so and there’s a lot of dust. Clay litters being breathed into tiny cat nostrils isn’t good. Kind of disappointing that a lot of the litters tested are Clay based.
Trynna figure out why u didn’t include Dr Elseys Clean track unscented litter… Instead you reviewed the other one. I really wanted to see a review of Dr Elseys non tracking litter ..
I'm more concerned with dust since I have asthma. Also in the video you keep saying how a litter would hurt you if you stepped on a piece. Your cat has to step in it so that should be a bigger concern. If the cat doesn't like the litter they won't use it.
Why didn't you use the Dr. Elsey's Clean Tracks version. This is their litter specifically made for non-tracking. I don't get it? Using their regular version and comparing it to others' non-tracking litters is extremely biased. I expect better from this channel.
Well, I guess you could try it yourself and do your own review? I have tried Dr. Elsie the one that attracts cat to use the little box. Can't say it was any better than my current cat litter. The As a brand, I have found Dr. Elsie to be more expensive and no better or slightly worse than other comparable clumping litters.

I'm going to have to look at this one, finding one low on dust is just as important as low odor to me.
I used to use that litter, but then couldn't find it for the longest time. I ended up switching to grass litter. Absolutely no dust, great on odor, but it does track.
@@jeannettebarnes2193
I've always gotten it at Walmart, but sometimes they are out and I get the Cats Pride in the white container.
@@jeannettebarnes2193
I didn't see it for awhile. I get it at Walmart. Sometimes, I get the Cats Pride Scoopable in the white container, although it is a little too fragrant for me.
Adorable cat in the video !

@@sheri4673good luck!
Feline Pine is for me. My cats are fine with it for years now.
I'm glad to hear Feline Pine is working well for you!
Fresh Step Clean Paws is the best clay litter Ive tried.
I always buy unscented and even though this one does have a bit of a scent it's not a scented scent.
Doesn't really track at all, it's just a great litter.
Glad to hear you found a litter that is working well for you!
Have you tried a mesh style mat under the box? It traps the litter as your cat walks over it . ❤❤❤
Anyone else have the litter/ waste mixture get stuck in your litter scooper? Pick up a "Scooper Cleaner"... It's a must-have for cat owners!
Would love to see a graph-based recap of your findings side by side at the end. Have you tried sustainably yours?
Most everyone I know is experiencing hardships with thier finances these days. I do see people at the store spending ridiculous prices on tiny containers of litter. I have used tidycat for at least 50 years. It controls odor as much as you could expect it to....I clean my boxes once a day an always expect to shake out the adult bed liner they sit on an maybe need to wisk broom a tiny bit as well. It DOES NOT get tracked away from the box an I refuse to pay more than 10 dollars for something that goes in the trash everyday!
Why do brands add lavender smell if they are toxic to cats? So weird, even if it's artificial, I still feel weird using it
I Always buy litter that's easy on my cats paws. I think about my Cat walking on hard litter. I PREFER LITTER THATS EASIER ON MY CATS PAWS.
Totally agree that's important! Which kind of litter do you like to use?
Grass , Wood, Paper pellets.
You said the grey litter wasn't as noticeable. How about when you end up stepping on it and it crushes into a bigger mess? I dont think that "noticeability" is a good criteria for reviewing a litter.
I just bought my cat Nature fresh litter walnut shell yesterday is this one good. Please test this one.Thank you.
Thanks for the tip!
How did it work for you?
@@kittymeowmeow1213 No .. didn't like the litter . .. I changed it to Cats Pride unscented clumping litter bought it on Amazon and he's ok with this one. ..
I use Super a scoop clumping by Arm and Hammer. It doesn’t track, and the unscented is great. Just noticed that it smells like peanut butter. Could be worse!
Can you test out Paco and Pepper olive pit litter? Thank you!
The best litter is clumping litter with a light color no matter what I have tried pine walnut wood corn the best is clumping for me. Tracking is always there but less with mat and sweeping Boxie cat is to expensive Tidy cat is pretty good.
This is so helpful. 😊
I am more concerned with dust because unfortunately, I have to have a litter box in the bedroom because I have an open floorplan. Is the fresh step clean paws dust free? I swear they all say 99% dust free but they lie.
I don't buy SCENTED LITTER! I my cat only uses Unscented.
okay
The catit vanilla is very low smell. I'm not a fan of the smell of the lavender. (I'm sensitive to smells).
I currently use Substainably yours large grain. (The other 2 track way to much) its what I have found to be the most effective for my litter robot with the least amount of track. It's ridiculously expensive, but I haven't found better.
My mother has two cats, uses World’s Best and is very happy with it. I have two and use Dr. Elsey’s; my experience matches the reviewer’s.
I am interested in Scoop Away brand which is sold by Costco.
Good suggestion to check out Scoop Away!
If you ever test litter again please please try Boxie Cat Pro. It is scent free but has probiotics in it and has great oder control. My family noticed the difference in my apartment so much that they switched to it as well. Seriously worth testing it. I dont buy any other litter. I dont even buy the other Boxie Cat litters.
is Tofu litter something that the USA doesn't use? or it's just not as popular?
Super weird that Intersand hasn't been on your website even though it's a pretty big brand. Do you only review litter that companies send you?
Hey! We don't received any freebies, all the products on the video were purchased with out own money. We'll add Intersand to our list
I've never heard of intersand. Where is that available?
@@jeannettebarnes2193 neighborhood pet stores or online. Some have a bulk refillable bucket for half the cost of bagged
You should try some of the grass seed litters
Thanks for the suggestion!
Did somebody has the issue of Dr Elsey’s when you scoop it the clump crumble? I don’t know if that’s normal on that one…
please review bed sheets
I was surprised u didn't fo clump and shield
?
All that being said, in the end, it is what does your cat like and use best - afterall it should be about the cat not us.
When my cats pay for the litter, they can choose which brand! LOL I use one that is a fine sand, after a year, they seem ok with it. .
I agree besides the fact that I don’t want my house smelling like cat poop everyday lol
Has anyone tried Paco & Pepper? My cat likes Feline Pine, but I’m curious about P&P as a clumping option
I haven't tried that yet, but I'll take a look!
I used Dr Elsey for a year or so and there’s a lot of dust. Clay litters being breathed into tiny cat nostrils isn’t good. Kind of disappointing that a lot of the litters tested are Clay based.
Dust is definitely a downside of clay. We will try to incorporate other types of litter in the future!
I Dont buy Clay litter ! I Dont buy SCENTED litter.
That cat RUclips money paying off look at the house upgrade
?
Wow, what an uncouth and presumptuous comment
You should think about not putting a trash bag under the box. Its really not in the cats best intrest ...
There is no such thing as non tracking litter . A cordless vacuum is the only solution. And using it all the time.
Agreed I haven't been able to find anything with no tracking at all!
Honiture cordless stick vac 450 watts on Amazon is super handy. I use dr elseys respiratory relief isn’t dusty but it does track some.
Trynna figure out why u didn’t include Dr Elseys Clean track unscented litter… Instead you reviewed the other one.
I really wanted to see a review of Dr Elseys non tracking litter ..
The sponsor won 🤨
My Cat doesnt use Clay , or Crystal. I buy Ococat, Grass .
good
I'm more concerned with dust since I have asthma. Also in the video you keep saying how a litter would hurt you if you stepped on a piece. Your cat has to step in it so that should be a bigger concern. If the cat doesn't like the litter they won't use it.
what makes you think this litter doesnt track? Of course it tracks just like clay litter.... (SMH)
What happened to Mallory? Haven't seen her in a while..

The sister of the previous presenter is much better than Sarah. Don't insult E!
Bad part 35
I Dont use SCENTED. Litter, I Dont Flush litter !
@@scook5599 Um, what decent brands are cheaper than Dr. Elsey's??? It's $20 for 40 pounds regular price.
As a cat caregiver, my favorite is World's Best (light, easy to scoop, minimal mess, odor control) & my least favorite is Feline Pine (ugh the sifting & dislike the smell)!
I can't stand the smell of the clays! Prefer the feline pine, and my son uses cedarific. we are both sensitive to smells nad agree the clays are the worst!
World best tracts all over the house.
