I loved Switch the first time I heard them! They are simply fantastic!! Bobby DeBarge has one of the greatest voices in music history! He died at a very young age! We know how great El DeBarge is and he said his brother Bobby is a far greater singer than him! Their entire family was so greatly talented! Drugs, alcohol and abuse in the family really destroyed them! Their Unsung episodes are so tragic!!

Thank you. Finally, someone reacted to this video of Switch. This video actually has 2 other songs. Closer and I Call Your Name. Someone split it into 3 videos. They were called Switch because they switched instruments during performances. Lead singer was Bobby Debarge. The oldest of the Debarge family. Phil Ingram is the little bother to James Ingram. He sings lead also. You seen him in the video Closer.

Bobby DeBarge easily one of the greatest voices in music R.I.P and his talented brother Tommy DeBarge R.I.P and the brother of the late great James Ingram R.I.P Philip Ingram who still is a great singer in his own right. Wasted talent, such a sad ending for Bobby DeBarge. If you really want to appreciate that amazing falsetto Bobby DeBarge voice, check out the song " You and I " trust and believe it definitely won't disappoint.

Yep, a real R&B "classic" with El DeBarge's older brothers: (Bobby DeBarge: lead vocals............Tommy DeBarge: bass guitar). This might be my favorite from Switch, but a close 2nd would be: ("I Call Your Name"), I'm sure you'll be getting around to that "classic" too at some point. It's delightful to see that you really seem to "get it" when it comes to "classic" R&B/Funk. Anyway, good reaction!

I love me some Switch! I'm happy I got to see them in concert.back when I was in high school. I still have all their albums. I suggest you listen to I Call Your Name. I use to request it every night on the Mike Reynolds radio program.
Yes my dear, i grew up in the 70s, the music was great, just fantastic. Come the weekend you just couldn't wait to go to the club or disco and dance and laugh the night way with your friends. It was a magical time. No fighting, no fussing maybe a little cussing but it was just a lot of fun. I wish we could all go back to that time.

I watched this when it came on! You will never know the excitement of waiting till late night Saturday to watch who was on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert! And if it was someone you LOVED, it was over. This performance had me enthralled.
Don't be mad, just enjoy the journey. It was definitely a unique time for music. It's funny I still have these on vinyl (albums and 45s), it's time to break out the record player...lol.

I use to listen to this song late nights when I was at Jackson State in early 90s. Thinking it was El Debarge. Took me years to know it was Els big brother and influence. And James Ingram brother on keybooard. I was in Love late at night with no boyfriend 😂❤. The guitarist look like Terrance Howard.😊
