I'm 25 days sober today and I'm meeting myself for the first time since I've been about 15 y.o. This entire journey is so humbling and beautiful. I'm finally understanding that I was hiding from myself. Now I see the promises God has for me. I wish this freedom for everyone

@@amandastrachan1825 Thank you for asking and I'm praying for your strength in recovery. I admitted to myself that I had a problem. That was step 1. For YEARS I made excuses about being "high functioning" and "who am I hurting?" but the truth is, if I had to say all that then something wasn't sitting right in my spirit. Drinking was an emotional and social crutch. I was ready to identify myself beyond my vice. I truly wanted to see change.
I plan to upload more videos on sobriety and recovery. Addiction has become casual and socially supported esp alcoholism in black women..I want to see us thrive 🖤

This came on my feed at the right time. Last night I just broke down and asked God what's wrong with me? So many people see me and my gifts and I see myself but I can't pull myself out to be it and maybe this is it. I say I'm exhausted of my life rn but am I really if I keep doing the same things over and over? Am I afraid to finally be happy and free because I am programmed to believe something bad will happen like the past? I needed to see this today. Thank you for this video and vulnerability.

I feel like there’s a difference between being a victim and having a victim mentality. Some people have been victims and that’s not bad but a victim mentality IMO is not moving forward. “Woe is me” “everyone is out to get me” constantly blaming others and taking no accountability. Victimhood is explaining what went wrong, how it affected you, giving yourself space, and using it as a stepping stone instead of a crutch. Girlllll thank you for this I really needed this. Especially when you said how God told you that you’re afraid of freedom because you’ve been in bondage so long you’re comfortable with what you’ve built and presented to the world that you can’t accept that maybe you are gonna be someone different. That hit home for me! Keep going sis❤❤

This was so good. Soo relatable. I went through a revelation last year where I realized this was one of the primary reasons for a lot of warfare in my life. I went intentionally to God about this deliverance I and I feel so free on this journey of overcoming. We are more than overcomers and this will not attack anymore as God pulls us through.

This video is perfect, it's exactly what I needed to hear even though I have been running away from the truth, deep inside I always knew I was battling low self-esteem, always seeking approval from other people and being afraid to raise my opinion because I was afraid of what people will say about me, not even executing the ideas I had in mind because I was afraid of failure. I have been in a cave for so long and deep inside I always knew I could do better, I always knew there was a version of me inside that was fearless and didn't care about what other people had to say or thought of me. So thank you very much for this video😢🥺❤.

I felt that too. I remember before I was saved, my confidence was so high because I kept myself up externally, had money, was in college. I thought I had it going on until I hit a brick wall and I found out what “real confidence” was 👏🏾

I been running from this video for the past few weeks but it wouldn’t stop popping up in my recommended and I already know why. This is something I know in my heart to be true for myself but I haven’t wanted to admit it. Thank you for your vulnerability! I’ve been on this journey for a while and I’ve grown so much into myself - I hope one day to be even more free from my own lowly perception of myself. While I’m actively hoping that no one sees this comment rn, I’m putting myself out there anyway because I do hope to be different and no longer stay the same.

This video didn’t pop up on coincidence, it’s confirmation on what I’ve been dealing with and asking God about. I protected myself from God too, I thought I was letting or let him in but so didn’t. I'm high-achieving and seemingly confident, but I struggle a lot with the expectations I put on myself. Your video has inspired me to take this before God and really let Him in to fix me. Thank you for making this video. When I tell you I’m trying to hold back tears at work. This is right on point with where I am in my life right now and how I feel. I am very protective of myself and I’ve been asking God why certain things are not happening. Everything you are describing and going through is exactly what I am feeling and it is hard because no one understands and I have no one to go to about it for guidance. I just keep praying! I have always dealt with low self esteem but hid it in so many ways!

This video is exactly what I’m going through right now and I just didn’t know how to explain it but this video is everything in words of what I’m going through and just by me watching this and getting this information I know I’m not crazy and god is leading me in the right direction of healing. I know it will be a process and things will not change overnight but my life and the things I been through is my testimony I just haven’t shared it yet do to me still healing and dealing with my self esteem and trauma but this is confirmation from god that I’m on the right path and that having faith in him is all I need 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

@@jordyneturner My dear, the term shadow work isn't derived from negativity, others simply made it seem like it is. It's just another term for self-evaluation and discovery. The parts we find it hard to see before our spiritual eyes are adjusted. Just like our heavenly Father is identified by many names so are the terms.
Culturally, we've worked so hard to place our religious beliefs in boxes that the Father never made creating a divide in communities. He wants unity and peace among ALL of his children within and without. Bridging the gap of diversity with acceptance, openness and oneness is the goal isn't it?!

I have never related more to a video… wow this is God. Low self esteem has been my story for 10 years too. I’m in the process of breaking out of this shell I have created. I know I need to do better about seeking/ listening to God. I’ve had this low self esteem illusion for so long, I almost don’t want to let go of it. You said so many great things, just want to let you know you are seen!

Thank you for sharing your (out lol) story! I truly believe God sent this video along to show that struggling in this way is not uncommon. Two of the books I came across that helped me recognize and better understand their issue are The six pillars of self esteem (and several other books by Nathaniel Branden) and the book The Defining Decade!

Thank you for your transparency. I too struggle with this. Trying to appear perfect to the masses. When I should really just care about what God thinks of me. It wasn't until last year, that layers of falseness were peeling off of me. Starting with me, admitting I had a jeleousy/depression spirit that has been attached to me! I ask God to rebuke that spirit and let me live in my truth and peace and I started to feel lighter. I think the 1st step was for me to admit I HAVE A PROBLEM.
I found out about the orphan spirit and I was shocked how it has been affecting me, my self esteem, personal life, and basically all areas of my life. After watching your video, I suggest looking into that if you haven’t 🙏
This spoke to me so much you just don't know. I have walked away from the church years ago. Anf nolonger consider myself Christian. However, I still believe in God. Girl this was and is still my story. Thank you for the lord told me the same thing about me holding on to my wounded soul. I surrendered it to him and I'm still surrendering it to him daily.

I suffered bullying 3 suicide attempts and 9 operations since 2015 to 2023. I literally let how others felt about me and their hate dictate how I felt about myself. It was only until March 22 that I mastered the hardest job and that's loving myself and that only happened through God's grace! You have to pour into your own cup before pouring into anyone else's. God also can't fix what you don't face! Now I can show up as the best version of myself and attract better. Everyday is a blessing and a chance to make a difference in yourself and with people you meet. Thank you, for sharing you've definitely gained a new subscriber. I’m currently going through a wilderness season where God is refining me and things are coming to the surface from the past so I can be delivered and low self esteem seems to be the root of all that’s occurred. It’s very important the ending about James 1:14/15 because mine led me to many mistakes which severed many relationships in the worst way. God bless you!

This is a very interesting take. I think that being self aware and completely encapsulated with yourself, for reasons that you think are healthy, leads (or can lead) to a downfall towards extreme negative self talk, the feelings of unworthiness and a battle between trying to becomes less self aware which is term is a battle of you fighting yourself. In my case, I was an extreme people pleaser, in the way that I can show myself proof that I was indeed a good person and I thought about the feelings of others, the problem is, never once did I chose myself. Most people, when experiencing something traumatic, they resort to things that make them feel good, or feel out of the situation. We can say drugs, mental psychosis, unhealthy eating habits, the type of “person” you become and in my case, I became extremely extremely stagnant because I was avoiding being put into any bracket or stereotype. Now after mentally feeling still like a child and not processing that life is continuing and I’m getting older, the hardest thing has been to choose myself. I have also just resorted to being frozen and still, not moving in any direction in life. And to add, it has had an immense correlation to my relationship with God as well, it is very hard for my to not imagine God as human and judging me the exact same way I judge myself. It’s sad, because I constantly show myself that I am worthy of disgusting self-language to myself and I actually feel so ashamed when I show myself love. I would like to say everyone is a work in project, but I have wasted so much time hating myself. And I wish there was more of a focus in this world and being completely human, than there is of being a creative and everything under the sun. Amazing video💌

I can relate to you . perfect timing as I prayed to God to help me be delivered from having low self-esteem. We're the same I don't want to bring up my past because I wanted to be perfect outside to please others. Thank you, because I have now the idea where shall I begin in my healing journey
This is also a struggle for me girl. That image we create and become so afraid to share with others. That box and image of perfection is truly a trick of Satan because although it seems safe to not be “exposed” we are actually in bondage & keeping others in bondage by not sharing our uncomfortable truths. I did avoid this video for awhile because I didn’t want to face my own insecurities & low self esteem but there’s truly freedom in just speaking it out & seeing that we’re not alone & only God Is perfect. He will continue to heal us & keep sharing your heart he will protect it always. You’re freeing more people with your vulnerability than the people who will try to have a negative opinion about you. It’s a form of sacrifice & you have inspired me to have courage in telling my story.

Hi Jordyn! Thank you so much for this! I too am called and wondered how God was going to use me (I later found out that's not my business) because it's all been said, right? I thought, what more can I say at this point? As He begins to call me out of "The Cave" I wondered how I could reintroduce myself. I was told to basically do what you've done here! I won't do that now, but I know in time Yahuah will show me HOW to do it so that HE will get the glory. Keep going because if He can use you to help me to step out at 50 and be brave, I know that through you Yahuah will help the youth. Shalom
