You can also make a gas-lock at the bottom of water. You perhaps need multiple different gases. They'll each take up at least one tile each (unless they get deleted.)
First, you do great work. Very much enjoy watching your stuff. Seems like a missed opportunity though to not use the natural surface for a "lair"... Maybe with reinforcement behind the natural surface and/or an airflow "roof" behind that for safety. I get you are currently space constrained with the needed farming space, and this would be a purely aesthetic design choice. Hiding under the natural surface (main entrance/ pads/ beacons notwithstanding) has a much bigger lair vibe to me. Regardless, excited to see what you put together.
Hummm you make a good point. Will try and leave a bunch of the natural tiles about. Will be tricky though we have to fit in 300 hydroponics tiles plus lights and automation.
Hey FJ, I think I may be on track for infinite food storage in a vacuum. I run my food on conveyor rails in a cold tank, bringing the temp down to -3.5f(that's my minimum, I lose about 1 degree from clill tank to vacuum storage) and then sending it to the normal 1 tile vacuum behind world's smallest liquid lock. This way no cold is leaking out into your base.
A new update just dropped today to fix the rocket bathroom thing. It's written in the patch notes. Also, some cool new things were added(variable sunlight intensity and the large-sized swamp planet)!
@14:01, oh yes, be careful not to destroy one tile of water accidentally, you know it's kinda a precious resource on this planet :) :) For the infinite liquid storage, I believe you can use manual doors as "walls" and use the trapped blob of O2 to keep the vent free (you have to put it back up).
I've found out with the infinite liquid storage if you place a lighter fluid into a heavier one like how you did it, the heavy liquid actually jumps up on top of the light liquid first, then lowers back down. You need to make the tank a tile or two taller so the liquid doesn't get deleted.
Hey John, a potentially good solution to the nuclear waste, is turn it into a solid. Since it's debris, it stacks indefinitely, you can pull some extra thermal energy from it, an would solve the problem effectively forever, without using the liquid compression.
Your "shortcomings" might be you only invest a sane amount of time. If this was not pretty much a part time job I don't think I could conscience putting in as much time as I do. I mean I have to justify that patron income somehow.

For the oceanic lair to get a James Bond vibe: underwater bunker doors and a rocket shoot that you can drain the water out. An ONI evolution/drowning chamber but for rockets
"Firing enriched uranium from a cannon sounds like a way, way, way more ... safe, and easy" - Francis John good to know firing nuclear warheads is the safer option.
Planets like this would be perfect for some sort of hydro-electricity generating device. Originally I was thinking of some sort of water wheel, but that would require water flowing in some fashion.
With the way you built the infinite liquid storage, you can just use the oxygen in the top tile the same way you'd use a second liquid on the bottom of the storage space. Just move the liquid vent up and you're good.
Could be an idea to build a third utility rocket with a suit repair station inside. you could even make it a small rocket with an engine, sparefarer's module, and a solo spacefarer's module.
Imagine a rocket silo that floods when the rockets land/take-off, then drains out after the blast doors close. Would be awesome but probably doesn't translate perfectly to ONI
The tricky part is the draining... you could use door pump I suppose. Actually it might be possible, difficult but possible. Completely impractical but cool looking :)
@@FrancisJohnYT You could use one of the infinite storage drain techniques using a diagonal flow to sump the water out. Those, iirc, allow near full fluid flow rate through them. Control it with a door, so when the blast doors open, the door is closed, and the flooding works, and then when the blast doors close, the water flows out through the infinite storage hatch (which doesn't actually need to lead to infinite storage, it can just be the ocean, it's just to gravity-drain the silo). This trick is probably going to be the nuclear waste, I don't think those diagonal flow sumps work well with mixed fluids. The only reason that it got deleted was because there was a blob of oxygen that was locked in there with nowhere to go. You had 3 elements in 2 places. One of them got deleted. It was the super-coolant.
The super coolant is getting deleted due to the oxygen and nuclear waste providing no room. Just diagonally build a tile in the oxygen, then remove it to turn that into a vacuum then put your blob of super coolant in and the liquids will stack.

If we want to be sneaky, we will need to slowly add layers of stone to artificially keep the water at world height. true we could just build a platform at the top but not the point of this.
Just a random thought but if you're going to send bristle blossoms over to the tree I believe the nuclear waste would be better served at the top of the map but that's just me not sure if you can shoot the packages through water or not which has now made me curious on whether you can shoot packages through water aka does the inter planetary Launcher work under water
hi francis, that system of liquid infinite storage dont work really well, i would place the liquid vent on a gas or liquid lighter than above the nuclear waste, if you place it below, (and this is not corroborated information) you need to put an extra tile of liquid below the vent, because the liquid at the vent (on your case supercoolant) will be displaced somewhere and because it cant, will be deleted, if you have an extra tile below, part of it will bounce down but will not be displaced, so the tile on the vent will still be super coolant

You can't interact with the payloads until they hit the ground as far as I can tell. Also payloads can only be opened by Dupes.
@@FrancisJohnYT ah that's unfortunate. Knew that it would still need dupes, but would have been fun and maybe slightly more efficient to deliver it elsewhere to be opened.
This is true Terror from the deep
Lovely planet. Swim all day. Like!
Bagong kaibigan lodi tamsak done, fullypack
Does water block light for solar panels? If not, you could have build solar panels much further down, surrounded by airflow tiles, to keep them from flooding, and run off of underwater solar
3 tiles down and light is G O N E .
Can confirm inter planetary Launcher does work underwater, well it does for now.
Secret lair!
Meanwhile at the Hall of Doom...
could you add a plumbing system for the rocket silo
water world awesome
"why are you all acting like there's radiation here?". Where, under the radbolt engine?)
20:20 IN FACT you could cut corners and still do it with this height but eh
hi francis, that system of liquid infinite storage dont work really well, i would place the liquid vent on a gas or liquid lighter than above the nuclear waste, if you place it below, (and this is not corroborated information) you need to put an extra tile of liquid below the vent, because the liquid at the vent (on your case supercoolant) will be displaced somewhere and because it cant, will be deleted, if you have an extra tile below, part of it will bounce down but will not be displaced, so the tile on the vent will still be super coolant
Its like subnautica, radiation from a rocket (okay, yours didn't crash), lots of water and strange animals (With that I mean Dupes)
ur SC is beign deleted cause the tiles on hte right are not air flow tiles. for the trick to work the liquids can not touch any tile that isn't an air flow tile.
