More cold porcelain projects please.... 😚😚😚
+Muning Maceda I plan on it!
I wanna be like like you when i grow up :3 hi from México ^-^
Aw, hi!! :)
Can the cold porcelain clay be used for outdoor projects? If not what can I use to make outdoors pots, trinkets, charms?
Those pics are so cute!! Thanks for this tutorial
Wow! Your work is awesome! Thank you for the DIY video.
I made cold porcelain a lot before I actually dove into polymer clay. I loved it. It definitely is fun to work with. Then I actually bought polymer clay and man oh man what a difference! You should make a comparison video!
+Dacey Miller Which do you prefer? I think it's nice to have pretty much unlimited time to work with polymer clay, but it's also pretty nice to not have to bake the things, like with cold porcelain... so it's pretty half and half to me. It would probably just depend on my mood as to which one I'd choose to make stuff with that particular day.
+chezlin I'm sorry I'm just now replying to this. I had no idea you replied! It's kind of a half and half for me too. I like the polymer clay for more detailed projects because I can leave it and come back later to work with it. I guess it depends on what you are wanting to do. I use white polymer clay and translucent, then paint or use chalk pastels to color it. I have a ton of tiny cold porcelain charms and I feel like my polymer clay is more for larger pieces.
Omg the seal is soooo cute!! ❤️❤️your videos!!
+Adries Cat Thank you! :) I love how that dish came out, I'm tempted to make more like it, haha :D
How sturdy are the charms with the fine edges, like the rose? Would they survive being on, for example, a bracelet that could get knocked about some?
Evelyn Barney I'd say it's pretty strong. I've made some rings earrings and pins with that clay. I think it's kind of like softer plastic since it's made with pva glue. But it might break because it is like plastic x)
Could I use a long, thin wooden barbecue skewer and cover it with the homemade cold porcelain? (I’m hoping to use the porcelain to make wands). Does this clay shrink a lot? And would the shrinking effect the wand?
It looks like a succulent :)
+Aemort Haha, it totally does! :) Thanks for checking out my video :)
I'm just wondering if this can be used to make flower pots?
Could I paint acrylic paint onto the surface of the final hardened clay, (instead of mixing colour into the clay itself)? Will the coats of acrylic paint stay on well for many years? I’m hoping to try making long wands with skewer sticks and clay, and I’d like to paint the details on at the end with acrylic paint...
When it dries and shrinks, does it crack?
Do the glue dots hold well? I am making some things that I plan to sell and I'm trying to find the best method of attaching pieces. I'm just wondering if this is the best method for cold porcelain or if there are other methods🤔
I love your videos(im using my husbands youtube account) but I cant stop watching all of ur videos! great job!
+Carlos Cruz Aw thank you! So glad you're enjoying my videos :D
Could you use eyeshadow to color the clay?
the big rose looks a little bit more like lettuce, but awesome.
+Panda_MC Haha yeah, initially I wanted it to be a rose, but when I got to a certain point I realized it looked more like cabbage or lettuce, so that's why I colored it that way :)
Have you tried making rings or bangles with the cold porcelain?
I love your clay projects!!!!!
+Tiffany Juddine Thank you! :)
I love your videos, they are so creative!
+Ruelen Sarion Thank you! :3
i loved your recipe! it came out just perfect! :)
Hello, Chezlin. May I ask where I can buy the dye materials and those tools? because i decide to make some earrings. thank you!!
wow you so creative
Thanks!
Hello! Do I have to oil/lotion my hands and surface everytime I use the clay?
is it necessary to spray all our pieces with acrylic spray like jewelry charms?
how many days does it the cold porcelain take to harden? Is it good for jewellry making?
+revati thomas Depending on the thickness, it can take a few hours to a day. With the things I made in this video, some of them dried within a few hours, but I just let them sit overnight to make sure they were absolutely dry, before doing anything with them. This clay would work great for jewelry, in fact, many people use it for that :) Just be sure to seal it with acrylic sealer or resin or something :)
How to get the flat pieces not crack or curl at the edges, that always happens to me. What I'm trying to do is a flat piece of cold porcelain of about 30 x 15 cm. I put the sheet in a mold I made of tree bark, removed and let it dry. But always get curls and cracks :/ Do you know of a any technic to avoid this?
PD: sorry for my english :s
Nice videos, btw.
+Bunny Booom Hmm. It might be curling because the side that's facing up is exposed to air and dries faster than the side that's sitting on the table. I would try flipping it over a few times as its drying to try to give each side the same amount of exposure to the air. I hope this makes sense and helps you out!
Any idea on that type of glue to use to glue a cold porcelain flower to a drinking glass?
I love you so much !
+Lucy Sun
So much great ideas!! Soo i have two questions (i'm new in all that):
1st: cold porcelain and air dryed clay are the same thing?
2nd: can we use polymer clay instead?
thanks
+Antrea Gatz Cold porcelain is a type of air drying clay, yeah. I think you can buy it in stores, but I've never seen it when I look for it. You can totally use polymer clay instead, but of course, you'd have to bake it :)
Thanks for checking the video out! :D
you are truly awesome!!!
Aw thank you :)
you know if it would be safe to smoke from if i made a pipe or bong?
The glue that's in this is supposed to be nontoxic, however this clay wouldn't be that great to use for a pipe or something because the moisture from your mouth would dissolve it.
Can i seal this clay with clear nail polish ? and does it do well when exposed to heat? thinking of making a bulb cover :)
You can use clear nail polish, but I don't think it would go that great as a bulb cover. You should look into using polymer clay instead! :)
Thank you chezlin :).
What kind should i use? self hardening or the bake to harden variety?
I would suggest polymer clay, which you have to bake
That's very helpful. Thanks!
how do you get your clay non sticky. I have the tear shape but its sticky! help?
+tybash1 You could try to knead it with cold cream/lotion, but if it stays sticky, it might be because it wasn't cooked long enough.
What kind of pastels?
Can we use polymer clay glaze as a sealer?
Yeah, it should work just fine! :)
why are my cold porcelain pieces drying curvy?
Is there a substitute for the finishing?
+Han Eyri Any kind of sealer will work. Even mod podge would work. I just like to use the clear spray acrylic because it's easier to get a nice, even coat. :)
how you solve the craking that accures to the charms after they dry
+3o9afa I've never had that problem, but if I did, I would just squish some more clay into the cracks and let that dry. I think that should work!
chezlin Thanks for the answer
My cold porcelain creations usually crack and look horrible when the dry...
would i bake the color clay with freezer cuz my clay never gets hardened i use color clay intsead of cold porcelian ?how do i bake colored clay?
I'm not sure what you mean by colored clay. If you used polymer clay, it needs to be baked, and the instructions should be on the package. If you used modeling clay it should air dry.
I love your video. I started making porcelain beads about 1 year ago. Its really fun. I have a video on it. Please let me know what you think.
+Sherlyns Designs Thank you! Real porcelain or cold porcelain? I love working with real porcelain but I don't have access to a pottery wheel or kiln so I can never work with it anymore :(
I work with just cold porcelain.
how do you keep your clay stored and organized
I just keep them in a zip lock bag and throw them haphazardly into my drawer. I really need to organize them better.
Ok here is a idea put them in a Ben and label the type of clay
Seal them with resin
Are objects made from this clay safe to be near fire? I'd like to make a little shade for a tea light candle.
+Rosalie Lingo I wouldn't recommend using it near fire. I haven't tested it to see how it would cope with being really close to fire, but I assume it wouldn't be strong enough to deal with it. It'd either melt or catch on fire I think.
+chezlin I'll be sure to order some LED tea lights then. Thank you!
Awesome, those should work great! (Also, now I really want to make some little luminaries with this clay and LED tea lights! :) )
I don't have a scealer......so can u suggest something that I can use as a scealer. Thank you.
vini santosh paint works
buttermytatas thanks
i have request..........can u plz make Isa's world clay and tell ma how does it driesand harden....like that stuff.....?she did not tell anything about that..???plz plz
I'm not sure what that is!
i made bowl out of cold porcelain but it craced.plz make some bigger projects with it
+hijama world Cold porcelain isn't really made for doing stuff really big, as far as I've seen anyway. If you make the piece too thick it runs the risk of cracking :-\
what will happen if i don't glaze the porcelain? please someone answer me.
+Khaye Zapatero Since the clay is made out of PVA glue, it's water soluble, so if you accidentally spilled some liquid on it, or handled the piece with wet hands it would start to dissolve the clay. This stuff is great to work with, but I would recommend always glazing stuff made out of cold porcelain :)
+chezlin oh i see. thank you so much for answering my question. :)
Hey i made cold porcelain but it was stick but i mixed some flour to work, it is good . Tell me whether i should bake it or not. And i want to make air dry clay as i found your recepie. Can i use air dry clay for makind mermaid doll etc
+Priyanka Singh Cold porcelain is an air drying clay so it dries and hardens when it's exposed to air, that's why you need to keep it in a zip lock bag and/or an air tight container. It doesn't need to be baked, in fact, it will probably burn up and catch on fire or something if you tried to!
There is a reason it's called AIR DRY CLAY
there are recipe's of non cooked clay on you tube. how would non cooked and cooked clay be different to work with.
I've never made uncooked cold porcelain so I don't know. Maybe another viewer can help!
Thx :)
both types of clay are pretty much same to work with, though I think the no cook clay dries faster. you can check the channel clayitnow for best homemade clay, thats the name of the tutorial. I think that is the best no cook clay.
How to make real BLACK cold porcelain?
+Van Tran You could mix black craft paint into it. I actually did this to make a little cat. The clay looked dark grey as I worked with it, but cold porcelain always dries a bit darker, so once it dried it was black.
One more question for air drying clay, baking is essential
+Priyanka Singh No, do not bake air drying clay! It's air drying, it doesn't need any heat to harden.
Hope this helps you out :) Sorry it took me a while to get back to you!
oki thanks
chezlin how long do you let it dry for before handling the finished product
Please
Very
thank you!!! 。^‿^。
+Majickk Huntress You're welcome!! :D
