Will forte is always 200% commited, i love this man
What happened to the Last Man🥺😥😢 you out there Phil
"The man's an effin genius... MacGruber!"🎶
Totally agree. Will forte is one of the funniest people on the planet.
That vain
No bottle of Jack Daniels is safe!
What a genuine travesty that this wasn’t on the internet for 13 years. I feel so blessed. My heart is warm.
Debate PTX haha this actually was on the internet but it was real hard to find.....I say that because I, like you, always found this so hilarious.....and now seeing it is on youtube, had a similar response.
Yeah great stuff it builds and gets better and better is that Scarlett Johansson
This is instantly one of my favorite things Will Forte has ever done
I'm in absolute shock and awe! Who knew Will Forte had this much talent?! Gonna have to check out more of his material!
@@jdstearman the last man on earth is one of the best shows of all time
So damn good.
Agreed. Saw this when it aired and have since watched repeatedly on Yahoo and then Hulu. Glad they finally uploaded to RUclips!
MAMA DON'T YOU POINT THAT GUN AT ME!
Me, laying in my bed in Duluth, Minnesota, procrastinating studying for finals:
SNL: 👀
So do rebels really lowkey make love in the streets everyday? Group on Meetup? Asking 4 a friend
UnwaveringBackBone No, they just jaywalk. Especially in the winter because there’s 5 foot barriers of snow on the streets. I’ll let you know if I ever see something steamier than the occasional kiss of two city buses during a blizzard, though :)
@@emilyh7986 during a blizzard you say...that's still pretty hot. I'd like to see something weird while visiting Duluth just so I can say "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore"
Me, laying in my bed in Duluth Minnesota, also procrastinating studying for finals while also reading your comment
Fly high!
Best part about this is that Fred Armisen totally played that drum solo.
i don't believe he did! if you watch carefully toward the end there's moments where the drums are still going but he's not! which is strange, because obviously he can play the drums. but it may have been a union thing (although years later, during fred's goodbye song in character as ian rubbish, him, taran, jason, bill and a host of special guests are playing the song for real, instead of miming to the band. and in fact bill hader learnt to play bass specifically for that sketch!)
@@simonjenkin I think he was just using the foot pedals on those beats at the end when you don’t see his hands doing it
@@simonjenkin Fred totally played the solo, and he played the two sets of snare hits before that. For most of the sketch, he's miming because live drums are really loud and not ideal for a small stage like that, but the solo is clearly all him.
@@simonjenkin The drums were mic'd, so yea it was all him
Fred used to be the drummer for a band called Trenchmouth, then joined the Blue Man Group way before SNL.
He even has a DVD for percussionists, Hans Hanneman 😂😂😂
The best part of this sketch is that these bands exist. Every city, town, region has one. And they're as totally sincere as they are clueless and lacking in self-awareness. And truthfully, I find that comforting and I kind of envy them. They're free.
Go thunderbird spirit!
And they have no matching sense of style or theme lol
Yep. "He's the Jim Morrison of Duluth." It's real. That guy exists. You should see the Pink Floyd of Fort Worth, they're as great as the Talking Heads of Wichita. Don't get me started on the Brian Wilson of Jacksonville.
Will is a lunatic… I can’t get enough of him
I'm willing to bet real money this is exactly how a "Doors" concert would devolve, every time...
Lmao! I was thinking the same thing!
I'm not sure concert were the limit on devolving. I'm sure something this happened every time Jim Morrison woke up. ;)
I love how Scarlett Johannsen seems to be contractually obliged to do a singing sketch every time she hosts the show. Each one is a classic. This sketch in particular is genius.
Wow I didn't realize that was Scarlett until I read your post lol
Years ago she did an album of Tom Waites cover songs that was interesting and fun.
Scarlet is wonderful & genuine
What were the others
She actually has her own albums on Spotify and she's actually good
*Life-long SNL fan. I have watched them at their best, and worst. I can't count the number of sketches I've seen. I was literally in tears laughing so hard when I first saw this years ago when it aired live. I was at my then girlfriends parent's house. I didn't want to act up in front of them so I was trying to keep my cool. I failed. This is one of the best sketches in SNL history in my opinion. Will Forte is incredible.*
My thoughts exactly. A good example of a great gem that just didn't get the visibility it deserved.
Your story. Is by far the dumbest, random, idiotic statement ever. Congrats you moron.
@@v10dodge87 lol.
3:21 shit got real! lol
Even though i didn't react that way to this sketch, i respect your energy immensely
One of the most *criminally underrated* SNL sketches of all time. If you’ve ever watched a local morning newscast in the Midwest, you especially get how crazy ridiculous and hilarious this is-contrasting what is supposed to be a super lighthearted local news program with an intro song by a band that, out of nowhere, goes completely overboard with hard core rock insanity, including pounding an entire bottle of Jack, singing about “loose women,” “cheap booze,” being “out here dying in the streets everyday” and so much more lmao 🤣
Ok
"Momma, don't point a gun at me", "My loins, my loins!" Lol.
Where is this rating which is incorrect?
Scarlett is top 10 best guests on SNL. Thanks for uploading old sketches with her
Well...she's fine. Top Ten? That's a reach...
she's great, but added nothing to this in particular, too restricted performance for the kind of band she is in. she should have been the host instead of Amy, and Kristen the main singer, for attitude only. there was no need of a good singer here, really
Poehler: "they were a lot of fun"
Sudeikis: "that's subjective"😂😂😂
I thought Will was David Harbour in the thumbnail.
John G ughh it’s an ad and i thought it was him
Same. We're straight tripping
That's what I thought too lol. They should redo the skit with him
John G same
John G it took me a hot min to figure out it wasnt
“MOMMAAAA….. DONCHA POINT THAT GUN AT MEEEEEE!!!”
Lmao so freaking ridiculous 🤣
Wow, Fred Armisen really destroyed those drums
Literally
Watch "Band Aid": super under-rated movie and Fred kills it (both gifted musician and actor).

The band was a metaphor for their marriage. So poignant.
@@super266 Oh yeah. Fred knows his way around a kit and a bass drum too.

That bass player went on to be the lead singer of uptown girl, an all 80's doo wop Billy Joel cover band.
"We only do 80s Joel"
Play something off "The Stranger"!
"'80s Billy Joel doo wop sucks!!" 👎
Will Forte is underrated, he was amazing.
Totally, this is solid gold.
He will never be fully appreciated, the fact that he was on snl as long as he was is a testament to Lorne's vision and appreciation for subversive humor.
I also think Macgruber was hilarious but it tanked. I don’t get it!
That man is incredible!
He is hosting Saturday!!!
Loved when will turned into a rockstar pirate and then drank an entire bottle of Jack Daniels
I can't believe that, but I watched him down the whole bottle. Hahaha unreal
Yeah I wondered what it really was. Apple juice with some brown food color maybe
@@rosequartz4102tea would be my guess.
The best musical parodies are always the ones where you can tell they're genuine fans of the kind of music they're parodying.

There is some "What Up With That" kinda vibe in it.
Yesssss! 😂😂😂
Except this sketch is funny.

Having Duluth, MN be only 3 hours from me AND get a top 10 all-time skit that perfectly expresses the spirit of this majestic town is a dream come true.
I CAN FEEL IT WAY DOWN IN MY LOINS!
One of my favorite Will Forte sketches. He just kills it.
Scarlett looks so good with this hairstyle!
I would pay good money to see this live
Amanda Vaughan it is amazing how close this is to perfection in every way, if only this could have been a continuing bit
I want to see his trouser weasel!
I just left a strange turd in the toilet. I called it "Red Snake With Peanuts."
Will Forte is a force to be reckoned with
He is one of my favorite cast members
I was so entranced by Will Forte's performance, that I almost didn't notice that band is like, the entire rest of the cast!

Me too. Didn't know I was gonna survive this skit it was so funny 😂
I've been to Duluth, back in the 70's, when they had a tavern downtown with topless dancers. Corn-fed and very healthy, each with a heart of gold.
Club Saratoga. 'Toga is still going strong some nearly 50 years later!
Very healthy. They were good for my trouser weasel.
This is one of those sketches where the genius of Will Forte shines.

Fly High Duluth! ✈️
GO THUNDERBIRD SPIRIT!!!!
I live in northern Wisconsin and have made the trip to Duluth a number of times. They need to play this song all winter long because it is fire!
They must be a pretty decent band to snag the bass player from the Blue Oyster Cult
I see what you did there! lol
I will just be out there minding my business and then I hear Will Forte's voice inside my head going "MY LOINS MY LOINS MY LOINS MY LOINS" on a loop
This makes me want to move to Duluth.
Why do I watch this at least once a month? One of my all time faves
Watched this as it aired. I just couldn't stop laughing! I was in the floor after he downed the Jack Daniels! 😂
This should be considered one of the greatest skits of anything, anywhere. Forte is a gifted actor. He should be a legend. Someone cast him in a crazy dramatic role.
They did, it’s called ‘Nebraska’.
@@ellystripesI said crazy. Like maniacal. Insane. Was he any of those things in Nebraska? No. I know cause I saw it in an empty theater. In LA. Which means no one saw it. Including studio executives. So nobody is really aware that he could do so much more. Perhaps he chooses not to.

Just more confirmation how absolutely GENIUS Will Forte is-I can’t watch his work enough!
This one is a keeper...almost as good as cow bell!
It's a crime against humanity that this video has less than 500k views at the time in writing this. There was genius on display here, and it bums me out that Duluth has so many rebels making love in the streets and there's so many people that don't know about it.
Amy’s & Jason’s facial expressions are priceless!
