Will Forte was so underrated.
Will Forte should be a household name by now. Everyone should know and love him, like they do with Arnold Schwarzenegger or Steven Spielberg. He should be Michael Jackson or Elton John famous. I should be able to ask a random person anywhere in world, "Hey, did you see that new Forte movie?" and they not asks "what is a Forte movie." But that isn't the world we live in, is it? No. In this twisted forsaken dimension, it's guaranteed that the person won't know who the hell I'm talking about. Even if I say, "That guy from the MacGruber SNL skits," they will still continue to give me a stupid confused look. How many people do you know who have seen (or even heard of) Nebraska, Flipped or Last Man on Earth? Probably none, eventhough it should be every person on the face of the Earth. How often does his name come up in conversation with your friends, family or colleagues? Probably never, eventhough it should be every day. How many awards has he won? Zero! It's like a sick joke. Do you know why people aren't naming their children after him, why he hasn't been knighted or why museums haven't been dedicated to him? BECAUSE HE'S FUCKING UNDERRATED!

I had the chance to interview Will Forte at a gala back in 2014 and he said that he just started working on a new show called 'Last Man On Earth'. It's so cool to see now in 2018 how popular it's become and I have to say I'm an even bigger fan of Will Forte now after seeing this particular skit. These songs are stuck in my head all day now too.

I'm willing to bet it was my hometown-hero, Tim Robinson, of Netflix's "I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson", as he was a writer and featured player at the time, and it reminds me very much of "The Night That The Skeletons Came To Life" from his show, and other absurd songs he's written for that show and others. I was telling my pal Jeff all of this earlier, when I showed this video to him, and he agreed. And Jeff's a far more eminently-credible man than I, so that's why I bothered to mention it. But all rambling aside, Tim Robinson is very likely the writer of these songs, and I don't think anyone in Rochester Hills, Michigan, is prouder of him than I am. Well, I mean, probably his family is, but I dunno if they're still in-town, I've not spoken to his mother in years, unfortunately...

I should have paid more attention to SNL during this time period. I love Forte and Wiig, I love insane nonsense sketches involving musical numbers (Will Ferrell's Neil Diamond sketches are classics) and one person in the audience laughing way harder at a bit than everyone else and this has all of those things.
