FUN FACT
the "call me the hair, cause i _smoke_ tortoises" quip is a reference to the story 'the tortoise and the hare', where an egotistical hare races against a smart tortoise. in this race, the hare keeps getting distracted because of small thing, and because his big ego, he's not stressed about taking sidepaths.
In the end, he gets distracted so much/his ego gets too big, and the slow but smart tortoise wins through determination alone.
Leo's joke is because he uses 'hair-hare' and he makes it because he won that race. However, like i said, in the original story the hare actually _didnt_ win, because of his ego. Sounds exactly like a certain blue turtle this episode, no?
Definitely sounds similar to Leo’s situation even though in the end he actually got what he wanted which was to get a different room lmao

Yeaaaaah, plus he wasn't exactly in the best place right there, his only prority was getting Raph back and he wasn't thinking straight (ha)
In all honesty, when he does use his brain he has moments of being an incredible strategist, he just usually doesn't bother; downplays his intelligence with humor; or lets someone else take care of it.
He was all angry and scared to lose raph and his confidence was over the roof. Tbh, in some episodes like when he tried to get Big mamma to help with shredder he showed he was able to make great plans. Even in silly stuff like the Lair Games, he always knows how to get what he wants in the end.
The fact that Donnie’s Gifts was about Raph’s struggle with making plans in the first place like

Mkay not me being an animation nerd BUT: I am POSITIVE they doubled the frames per second during at least that fight scene in the movie. They absolutely increased the FPS for the whole movie- but that fight scene- *chefs kiss*
absolutely! if you pause and tap the comma and period on your keyboard, you can scrub through RUclips videos frame by frame. during the fight scenes or any epic scenes in the movie lol, the special effects (glowy weapons, portals, etc) are on ones (1/24 of a second) while the characters move on twos (1/12 of a second). an example of this is Mikey opening a portal in the opening scene, where the mystic energy swirling around him is on ones.In other moments, like when Leo spins his sword at 16:43, the sword switches between ones and twos, and his grab of the spinning sword is on ones while the rest is on twos. this makes the animation super snappy and awesome!! from one fellow animation nerd to another :]

It took me a while to get used to his voice and how different this version of Leo is, but I think Ben schwartz did an amazing job as Leo and in this version he only had one voice actor. Some of his line deliveries and comedic timing are just pure gold! Like Raph: Are you sweating? Leo: Yeah a little, but only because my hand is on fire, and the whole swedish chef awards bit is hilarious. I also love his character development of trying to be a better leader in the rise movie was just amazing!
If we don’t get a season 3 of this show, we should at least get a Turtles Forever 2

I'm going to cause pain with this comment, (MOVIE SPOILERS.) At 14:23 you can see him holding his left side. (Probably due to the fall because before this moment when he tries to get up, he falls back down in pain.) I dont know if I'm the only one who noticed this, but that's the SAME EXACT spot that future leo was injured at in the beginning of the movie. 🙃

Gods I love how it's obvious how much better the story, animation and the character development is once you let the creative team behind the show do their best instead of forcing to make the show in certain way. You can see how much love was poured into the movie, and the creators knew this was probably it, the last thing they'll ever do on rottmnt. And they gave us a final gift, and went out with a bang like no other. I think this show will be my all-time favourite. Especially after the writers brought out the characters' potential (that I was amazed by in the show) to the max. I love them sm. Thank you for doing this compilation.

I wonder why future Leo seems to have an arm that isn't his.....it has a red bracelet on it....could it somehow be Raph's? We didn't see his future version
I took it as an implication that at some point in the doomed future Raph lost his arm, he got it replaced with a robotic one, but then he died at some point, probably to save others from the Krang. Then at some later point Leo lost his arm and because Donnie wasn't alive to create new and properly fitted tech, the best Leo could do is attach Raph's old robotic arm as a replacement.

i genuinely wonder how Donnie and Raph look in the future. Especially Donnie. Seeing how Mikey has changed so drastically, I believe Donnie has as well. I always imagined future Raph to look somewhat like Heinous Green. Bigger, spikier, and more serious.
It's only a robot arm, you should see the deleted scene of that part of the movie here in RUclips, it's crazy and pretty dark :)

Okay but that look of absolute horror on Raphs face when Leo said hero moves were his style and he realised that Leo learned this from him? Heartbreaking. The moment he realised that his wish to be a hero is what ultimately led to this moment where his brother is ready to die saving him, still believing that this is his own fault, and THEN remembering that he was the one who tried to warn you that this was dangerous right from the start. The moment you realize exactly why Leo was fighting the leader position so hard, was because he understood the risks better then his brothers did and he was terrified of being in charge. That mission he botched should have been low risk, where no one would get hurt if he failed, so it was a great opportunity to try to convince them Raph should be leader. But then it turned out to be the most high stakes misson they'd ever done. This was when Raph finally understood Leo, and it came too late. Leo never wanted to be a hero, he just wanted to protect and support his family, because they were the thing he cared about most. But in the end he became a hero in order to save them.
