love your shorts! And just btw I always feel that vacation tug active vs. relaxation. It's still going on and my children are grown lol. Try to let the guilt go - the true gift is your kids wanting to spend time with you when they're grown. Thanks as always for the book and podcast recommendations.
Your shorts are adorable! The "length of the crotch" is also called "the rise" 😊. I'm casting on vanilla socks as I watch...we have about 3 or 4 hours of a road trip today, and everything I'm working on isn't good for car-knitting...so a new pair of socks it is. I do have my never-ending Half and Half Wrap in the car, but I want something different....I'm one of those people that one of those wraps is definitely enough! 😂
And yes I totally relate to the vacation dilemma - I think it's partially what has kept my husband and I from planning a vacation for years lol. We finally bit the bullet this year and chose to go back to Maui in January for some adventure and some relaxation.
You may like to get a prym icord mill! You can crank out a drawstring in no time! I have one and although I’ve only used a couple times, I love having it for those drawstring needs! Just finished “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick 👍🏽 and am listening to “No Greater Love” again ❤
Thanks for another great podcast! I totally get your whole vacation debate. I have never heard anyone verbalize it, and I appreciate that. There is a designer that is petite and makes really cute shorts, knit leggings and tshirts...I don't know if you have seen her designs. Her name is the little wolf knits designs...she designed the twisted tea shirt and a bunch of shorts and other things you may like.
Hi Lena! Ugh about your socks. You can always overdye some the white part of your socks with some hot pink with some random splotches to make it look intentional. Beautiful knitting and great recommendations for books etc… I’m going to look up sweet bobby now!
I'm a huge true crime podcast fan - and I LOVED Sweet Bobby - what an absolute nutty story wow. I'm behind in podcasts but I'm catching up now. And yes I've heard Your Honor is really good - I will give it a try this winter when I'm back watching tv. Happy Knitting!
Woohoo! Glad you loved Sweet Bobby! So bonkers. You have to listen to Hysterical. I just recommended it a week or two ago-absolutely brilliant podcast 👍
@@AnotherKnittingPod ok great thanks for the rec - I'm still behind on podcasts so haven't watched your latest yet. I've had Hysterical recommended more than once now so I put it on my list!
Thanks for recommending Midnight Library. It's a book that I will think about for a very long time into the future. I'm a teacher relishing the summer break and all the alone time I get to walk, knit, and listen to books and podcasts. And yes, I've mastered the ability to do all three at once and I'm loving all the miles I get in (early to beat the heat). Podcast recommendation: Wiser than Me with Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
OMG your beautiful socks 😮! Try washing your socks again in cool water! And maybe try laying them out flat in the water where no pink areas are touching the white. Because even though the pink bled, it's likely not fully set or adhered onto the white sections, it MIGHT come out with another soak. (Acid dyes require heat, over 200 degrees, for at least 20 minutes and acid like white vinegar or citric acid for the dye to officially set.) So unless you washed your socks over the stove with white vinegar there is still hope!!!
Hi Lena...I loved Your Honor too..right now I've been watching Anne Of Green Gables....its a newer version...I'm really enjoying it but with to many tears.😢😂...this is a lot different from the movies I usually watch...I love drama with lots of twists and turns.😂🥰
I tried to watch that Anne of Green Gables show with my daughter, but she wasn’t into it! I was sad because it looks cozy and good, for those times when you need that. I too love dramas…we’ve been on a role with those lately. I have a few more to share with you next time!
100% agree about Your Honor!!! Love the cute shorts! Never would've considered that pattern but you make it really tempting for a super fun comfy loungy knit. 😊
I love the frugality of Libby, but I do end up reading multiple series at a time while waiting for a hold. Sometimes it is SUPER confusing when I have to hop back into a world after a break 😂
Hey! For your sock situation, I had a similar experience. Something red ended up in the wash with a cream dress and the dress came out with SO much dye on it that I almost threw it in the trash. I Googled it and there IS a way to make your own colour catchers!! I don't quite remember the process but there was simple baking soda involved. I repeated the process until the blemishes were gone. Don't loose hope on the socks and birkenstocks just yet!! Try it and hopefully it works for you too. P.S. as an occasional yarn dyer, Fuchsia dye is known for bleeding. Turquoise too. Cold water with white vinegar is the way to go for blocking.
Fantastic suggestions! I would love to make my own color catchers. I could make them as strong as I wanted 😜 I’m glad this color bleeding happened on a small project rather than a big sweater or shawl. That would have been devastating.
Can I recommend a pattern to you that I'm currently knitting - it's called AGAVE by Yumiko Alexander and it's just such a fantastic slouchy easy lace sweater with different sleeve lengths. I've got one in cotton/linen and now knitting one in a fingering weight held double in a bright pink. It's as delicious to knit as the Ranunculus and I know it would suit your style. 💗
Oh your lips are still burned!?!? Poor you. 😢 I am the same on ravelry- it’s just I never get around to taking a good picture and actually posting them lol. Maybe I should just write up what I have and then the project is there and add pics when I get to it, when I get to it are my famous last words! Your shorts are totally adorable in the best vintage like old luxury sleepwear way. I’m so sorry about the socks. Oh it hurts! You should still be so proud of them. I wonder if you attempted a sock surgery like dabbing peroxide on those areas? Or watered down bleach? You could also try bringing them to your yarn store and ask there. It doesn’t change the fact that you knit these awesome socks!!!! And yes it is so hot. The humidity is disgusting too. Annalie and I were saying yesterday we are ready for fall, cooler weather and not sweating when we walk out the door 😂 and for what it is worth she still wakes up at 6:30😂 she has a very strong internal alarm clock- even when she is sick she is up, and no matter how late she goes to bed she is still up with the sun. I love love try crime podcasts and will check that out! Lately I’m loving Buried Bones- it is historical true crime and my inner nerd loves it. You are NOT the only one who feels this way❤❤❤❤
I ruined my Christmas Soldotna sweater when the red yarn blead! I’m going to overdie it in a few months. Made me sick too. I also LOVE Your Honor! I have a celeb Crush on Brian! He’s Walter White all over again, in a different setting. 😅
Oh no!! I was just thinking that color bleeding in a sweater is just all the more devastating. So much time, love, and money spent! And yes, Bryan Cranston is just so talented (and cute!)
@AnotherKnittingPod truly the flutter butt shorts should be Ass Friends😄 and you inspired me to buy the pattern, and use up some of my almost pathological quantities of Linen Quill! 🧡

I never thought about the flutter butt shorts linen quill. What a great idea!!
Linen Quill is the best workhorse yarn!

It is called carbona color run remover. Fixes color run accidents

Hey, hi.
Try steaming or steam iron instead of blocking
There is a product at the supermarket that takes of color bleed
Thank you for the reminder to use lots of color blockers, but sorry it had to come at the expense of your slouchy socks....
As friends, AS friends lol i heard Ass Friends - ah thank god for show notes :)
Omg you cracked me up. I was feeling quite grumpy and your comment gave me a much needed laugh!
Also, just cast another Ass Friends on this very moment! 😂

Maybe you could do surgery on the sock, graft in freshly knit stockinette tube?
