One thing that Ron clearly holds close to his heart is education, as he dispenses his knowledge, so far as I can tell, freely to anyone who asks. That's pretty goddamn great, I must say.

It's the character trait that keeps him from being just another "quirky boss" and the kind of thing that makes the crew on p and r seem a little tiny bit realer than other sitcoms like it
Most tradesman are like this. I love teaching others how to do things, and watching them go from "I need your help for every step" to "Get out of my face, I've got this". Honestly, the most pride you will ever get is hearing that phrase from someone you have taught and it being true.

He wasn't trying to piss her off he was trying to prove a point that he has a high tolerance for whiskey and even after 4 or so glasses he's skill able to safely use power tools because earlier in the night she refused to let him drive home after he has 3 glasses of whiskey

Ron Swanson has too much common sense and know how to have a workshop THAT unsafe.
all the problems the workshop had seemed more like something Andy would do. Like the oil rags next to the open fire with the out dated fire extinguisher.

Lots of shops are like that. My shop is safe for me because I know every detail about the tools in it, what can go wrong, and how not to have accidents. Other people are not allowed in my shop unsupervised by me because THAT would be dangerous. It doesn't have to make sense so long as it's true to life...
It's supposed to represent his distain for the codes, but I couldn't see someone like Ron having that.much of an unsafe shop.
To be fair, safety codes are to prevent accidents from people who are capable of committing accidents. Ron Swanson is no such person.

The funny thing I heard the other day was Ron was essentially the book version of Geralt from the Witcher series.
1.) he actively shares information about his craft and knowledge, so that it’s safer and more efficient for the “less educated folk” as it were.
2.) he could very easily get physical and has the advantage but rarely ever does during arguments.
3.) disapproving stare.
4.)has a jovial and polar opposite best friend (Leslie Knope = jaskier)
5.) keeps to his own morals and standards that most never would be capable of doing without turning quickly selfish.
