I bought the cheapest BMW M5 competition F90 which was in a bad crash. i attempted to rebuild it myself and after months of work ive finally got it back on the road, but not without a few modifications first including new alloys and a remap! But now i have to take it to BMW for a stupid reason.

Me neither for most part. I'm very happy w/ my 2nd Ford Edge AWD. Had '13 Edge AWD & now '22 Edge ST AWD. Owned many other vehicles in 35yrs driving but these are "all around" my favorite. Sporty, luxurious ride & minimal basic maintenance. Wonderful to drive daily & extremely well built SUVs. -NY

This has got to be one of my favourites of yours mat. It's taken so many skills and issues you've needed to solve. The welding ,the battery, the pyro fuse, the trouble moving it in the first place it's been epic!

I have to hold my hands up and say I did doubt you did the builds yourself in the channels early days. But I’m man enough to concede I was bang out of order and really respect what your doing, what you achieve and the obvious effect your having on thousands of people …hundreds of thousands ….maybe even more. You display acts of compassion & generosity that couldn’t fail to impress even the biggest of naysayers. Your dad must absolutely be as proud as any dad could be. You don’t cut corners, you defer to your dads experience and ask his advice all the time. As a father, a son doing this is the biggest mark of respect we could receive.
Keep on doing exactly what your doing … the channel /model works fantastically and is rightfully attracting the global attention that it is. Bravo!

Crazy how you have all the skill and patience to rebuild all these cars with how different they all are. Would love to do a project like this and showing people no matter how difficult it may be to rebuild one its possible. Beamer is looking great.
There is a protective short that occurs are many airbags when not properly connected. Just fixed one 2 weeks ago. This may help later in life. Cleaning up the connectors and reterminating it fixed the issue. Nice job on the BMW!

Every build you do is worth it. Your particular situation is unique in that the cars you purchase, no matter what the state, create content. The revenue stream is built-in, so it really doesn’t matter if there even is a loss on the car itself.

Matt those wheels you put on are a downgrade. The stock bmw are fully forged.
I think also, the edges areto sharp and don t match the shape of the bodys car🤷♂️. Congrats Matt for all your work, superb machine, even with the "wrong" wheels

I never liked "fake" wheels on luxury cars, in my opinion only factory wheels have the right "soul".

So if repairs cost 41K, and it would be marked as a category right off, clearly from a monetary point of view it’s not worth it but I’m sure with the amount of money you get from RUclips and the enjoyment element, then it is 😆

I think cars are mostly in these cases are written off because of the sheer amount of work hours that need to be put in. I am also shocked that basically the whole framing and engine work is less costly then a couple of sensors. I am curious if he sold it for decent money. I guess people tend to be hesitant spending that much on a car which was wrecked lol.

Mad respect for rebuilding it. I’d recommend getting ISTA if you plan on rebuilding bmws the software is very helpful. I’m rebuilding a bmw e90 and the electronics are killing me I keep getting code p1631 theft deterrent system 😂 such shit cars to work on. Good job 👏 M5 looking good.

Cracking job mate!! Not sure if youve heard of it before but for future reference 3M VHB tape is very strong for fitting trims, i used it on a bonnet lip once and the lip split in half after a crash rather than come off the bonnet😂
I watched this entire rebuild with much anticipation and delight. Good job Mat! Some people are saying that it should have the M5 badge on the front. I don't think so, it makes it look custom!
My GT86 had someone reverse into the rear quarter panel. Got it fixed by an approved shop. Even they had to have the work approved by the manufacturer. Something about the welds being safety critical. Trying to avoid the catastrophise that were "cut and shuts", take two written off cars and weld them together and sell it as legit.

Hi there matt just wanted to say I enjoy your videos with your outlook on trying out repairs and building your skills and not just letting things hold you back before you at least try to fix yourself as it shows how much you have grown in skill and in all honesty I used to watch you back in the day with all the bmx content and ended up unsubscribing as thought you had a bit of a attitude but since then you have grown up and I was wrong but you have matured so much that I now watch and wait for the next part so congrats mate

i’ve always preferred black wheels but these are just brilliant. they bring out the amazing silver body colour and they pop. great choice!
Amazing work and one thing i will say is keep the parts that you replaced with carbon fibre so that when if you decided to sell it the next owner if they wanted too can put the original back on if they wanted too and aswell it can sometimes believe it or not de-value the car but documenting how the modifications are made can help stop the devaluing of the mods
Adaptive cruise control is on the streeling wheel pres cruise on than press down to lock speed in press up to accelerate
I bet the locking tab on the airbag connector is broken. If you pry on the locking tab the wrong way to remove it you break one or 2 of the long plastic shorting bars. Being it shows shorted when connected...
If so, get a repair kit, remove the locking tab and transfer it over.
Super common when customers try and replace their batteries themselves. I got a drawer full of those commectors
