Hi John 🎉 This is exactly what I use your second brain for! I bought your templates a while back specifically looking for a way to organize my adhd brain. Still tinkering with and customizing all the time but such a relief to have a place to dump for literally every area I can think of.
@@Promentalist hi glad to hear the use case resonated and ty for your support :) i agree, when i first started obsidian it felt liberating with being able to manage the information throughout my life, but until the diagnosis i didn't spend much time actually considering the science behind it. hope it was insightful for you as well :)
Ok. I found the whole vtuber thing unnecessary and irrelevant for the videos... But didn't particularly mind them. But these *upgrades*. They aren't well synced. They look super uncanny valley - in abad way. Its a bad distraction that is detrimental to the educational videos. I'm sorry for the negativity, but I don't think I can watch it in this state, and I don't think I'm the only one.
Agreed, it was ok when it was just 2D, it's very off-putting now. John, I appreciate the Obsidian content, but I think you need to either step back from the v-tuber aesthetic, or go back to your original model.
@@orladillon3389 i appreciate both your honesty and its unfortunate it took away from the video 🥲 im assuming its quite a range of factors but if you could share what makes it feel like a downgrade from the 2d i can see how i can mitigate it (camera movements, lighting, facial expressivity, etc). in the future im thinking, videos heavy on the obsidian tutorial side will be less talking head to emphasize the tutorial aspect, but i'll probably be using it still for more idea-based videos.
@@itsjohnmavrick the motions and are off and unnatural. Especially the mouth doesn't match at all. Cadence, when it should be silent or speaking... Its all off. Or the stare of the model, unsettling. And to prominent, the avatar doesn't have to be in almost every frame (for this content, it isn't really adding anything at all) but it should be at least toned down. As the other poster said, I didn't mind the 2d model. I mean, I didn't gain anything from it, but it wasn't distracting - and now I have put in serious effort to tune it out. I know you made a big leap and investment with the stuff and I could tell you that an updated rig should be further down the priority list, but well that's a bit too late. My advice would be to reduce the amount of the vtuber screen time (especially with the picture in picture scenes) and maybe fall back more to the 2 Model if you have to, at least till you get the hang of the operation, especially 'Lip-sync' and the eyes.
@@tobylegion6913im very thankful you kept the criticism constructive - your feelings are valid. ill continue exploring whether making content that heavily uses my model should be on my second channel, to keep this one with a heavier focus on the informative aspect. i am still getting used to using the model, and personally feel it as a talking head, but that is also due to me having more exposure with vtuber content in general. as much as i enjoy using it i dont want it to be a major hindrance to the actual content of the video 😅😅 my upcoming videos planned already weren't going to be heavy on the talking head, just glimpses like in previous videos where i didn't have any supporting b-roll.
