Fantastic video, this guy nailed it.
Four acres of lawn and jungle here, 50/50, old falling down tree jungle in Michigan, another tree fell yesterday in a storm. Lots of deadfall and pruning required to cut old dead branches out of the way. I looked at the 131, to much for me, fatiguing, I demoed one at the shop. The 91 and 94, not enough oomph, so I went with the 111. Very happy! Been four years with this equipment, and would do it again if need be.
I went with the 12" pole saw (upgraded the bar and chain to 16"), grass trimmer, brush cutter and the blower. The power head is used weekly, and I only run the 50:1 premix fuel, the Echo Red Armor or the Stihl brand. I run this in all of my 2 cycle equipment, two hedgers, Echo and Stihl, Echo back pack blower, and Stihl chainsaws. Since I started using this fuel, I have yet to replace a spark plug, clean a carburetor or had to replace head gaskets or rings, and none of my equipment smokes. The fuel is stable for up to three years +/-. I'm in Michigan, and they load down the gasoline here with ethanol. I have lost one to many 2 cycle motors to that crap, and I said never again.
If you do not have a jungle to deal with, the 91 or 94 should cover all of your needs. Just my .02

I have the km94. Bought it 5 years ago. I have the brush cutter , pole saw and weed eater . It has absolutely no problem running the brush cutter . Yeah it’s loaded up the whole time and takes a little more time to spool up, but oh well…. Just make sure you are spooled up prior to engaging brush . My buddy has the 131….. and it is in my opinion not a big enough difference to be worth weight . Yes it spools up much quicker with the brushcutter, but like I already mentioned . I simply let the 94 spool up before engaging. With the 94 being the lightest and the only true 2 stroke . For the money I think it is the best all around bang for buck

I've been using my grandfather's old FS85T (has the Kombi attachments, but I think it predates when Stihl actually started using the Kombi name and the KM85) for our yard work, and it still chuggs along just fine after all of these years. He got it with an older version of the hedgetrimmer, weed eater, and edger attachments. I bought the pruner attachment for it, and surprisingly it cuts through 8 inch branches like a hot knife to butter. I have been thinking about possibly going electric and getting a KMA 135R since the old attachment should fit since it's a bit more convenient and WAY quieter. Just haven't pulled the trigger one it because the investment is $$$$.

I have the km-94r and I love it. Quick starting, lots of power and runs every attachment that I have very powerfully. I run the hedge trimmer, edger pole chainsaw and it makes very quick work of it. It even powers through waist high grass with no issues. If I find anything the km-94r struggles with I will just grab the fs-250r twenty years old and Stihl ripping through whatever I need to go through.

Great video, mate. I have a 4 acre vineyard, I bought the KM94 and it is perfect for what I do. Lots of the work is hedging and pre-pruning which require holding the head upward. The light weight and "
lock" on max rpm extremely appreciated in the vineyard. 3 attachments so far and looking to add a tiller this year. Never needed more hp than the 94 offered.

I have the 111. I went to buy the 91, but they couldn't find the one in stock, so I talked the salesman into meeting me between the 111 and 91 prices.... I run the trimmer, articulating hedge trimmer, pole saw, curved edger, rotary scissors, and bed redefiner. The only attachment that really makes the unit *work* is the bed redefiner. That blade is a big hunk of steel to get spinning, but once it spools up (it might take 1-2 sec to spool up) it rips right through the ground. I'd like to get the cultivator attachment, although I'm sure that would make the engine work pretty hard, too. I am glad I got the 111 over the 91. This thing has met every challenge I've thrown at it. I don't mind the weight, so I'd be happy with the 131 even, but darn they want a kidney for it.

Thanks for the comparison. Here in Australia we only have the 56, 94 and 131 available, and I'm tossing up between the 94 and 131, but reading other comments I think I'll save $250 and go the 94 as it will be mostly light duty edging (as I have the FS 94 RC-E brushcutter and love that engine!) and down the track I'll likely add a hedge tripper and pruner, but it's mostly for the straight shaft edger

  • @waterbourne9282

I too have the KM-94RCE. One thing not mentioned is a 2-Mix (2 stroke with stratified combustion), the bigger ones being 4-Mix (4 stroke with premix fuel). I went for the 94 because I like the simplicity and weight advantage of 2 strokes, had read some unhappy stories about the 4-mix models, and am glad I did. I had the 56 prior and the 94 is a lot more economical. I run it with the blower, bent shaft edger, pole saw, line trimmer, adjustable angle hedge trimmer, and also have the carbon extension. I find it has plenty of power for all of these attachments and only notice it work hard when I add the extension, but it still gets the job done. It is light and has run flawlessly for the last 6.5 years. Best tool I have ever bought as it saves me so much time. The blower is really useful. It has so much more power than the little snail shaped ones everyone uses as it has three fans in it. As well as the normal leaf and debris clean up I use it to blow out my garages, gutters, as well as blowing sanding dust off when I am painting. Just replaced the whole set with a fresh set. Well worth the money, wish I'd bought them years ago.

Bought my first Stihl trimmer and have the 131 R. In only a few hrs work we are FINALLY catching up on our farm. We have blown through so many $200-300 Lowes/Walmart machines the past few years. We're using thrush blade and man...lovely!! Next year we won't have ANY issues. Working on the yard and farm is actually rewarding again instead of frustrating and exhausting. Looking at adding the shaft extension, the hedge trimmer, a pruner, scythe and pole trimmer but not sure if the hedge & scythe will do same thing. We've bushes to get in shape and hand trimming is crazy. I'd also like to scythe our 1 acre of hay we are hand cutting and hand packing for feeding to our meat rabbits since the other animals are pastured and graze on their own. Thanks for the info as I was thinking of getting a lighter machine to get hedges and such but I'll have my son handle that and just use the machine we have with the extra attachments.

I just got a KM94 yesterday with the brush attachment and then also bought a string spool to attach to that attachment.. One thing I've noticed thus far is a strange "catch" with the throttle trigger. It sometimes has a really bad spot where it hits resistance and then is full throttle when trying to modulate with my finger. And frankly the throttle adjuster wheel makes no sense at all. i can't tell what that thing does! Is the wheel adjust ment making this catch happen? It seems to go away if I play with it a little bit. But for the life of me, I'm not seeing where the wheel slows down the max throttle at all.. Any help? Thanks!

So the KM version of the 94r has a solid shaft or a flex shaft? I think you said all but the hedge trimmers have solid bottom shafts. If I had a kombi I most likely would mainly run the straight line head and a hedge trimmer. Maybe the pole pruner but if I would it would only be for limping low handing maple tree branches or something hanging in my way. Like a rope pole looper would do but with a trimmer. So if I get it straight either one of the hedge trimmers should be able to be run just fine on the flex cable 56 and 94. Could I get away with a pole saw if doing light pruner. I guess u wouldn’t be hurting anything you would just notice a lack of power if you were to be sawing a branch or something that would be too thick. It could do it just would take a bit long correct. I can’t see being able to with their weight able to hedge or pole saw too long.

I use the Echo Red Armor or the Stihl brand, whichever is on sale or the better price. It is a premix 50:1. Never had an issue with any of my Stihl or Echo motors, plugs are always clean as are the carburetors. I know, pricey, but I have lost one too many 2 cycle motors to poor mixes and ethanol loaded gasoline. I like to grab the tool, give it a yank or two and go to work, this fuel in a can allows me to do just that. Worth every penny. And it is stable for a year or two, the can I am on now I think is three years old, no issues.
