      I didn’t think the blower would be one of the attachments I would want, since I have a Stihl SH86 blower/mulched/vac. But it’s a pain to convert back and forth from blowing leaves to sucking them up. I think I’ll get the Kombi blower so my wife and I can tag team on the job! I’m also considering either the broom or the sweeper for light snow. For most light, powdery snow the blower does a great job.

    I started with a KM110 back in 2005 which was the biggest (and only) power head at the time. I think around 2012, Stihl came out with the KM130R and I bought that one also. I haven't had any issues with either unit. I have the BG-KM blower and it works very well on either power head. It is more balanced than my Stihl SH-85 which is a handheld blower-vac. I would recommend that you buy the largest power head that you can afford. The KM130 is a big improvement when running the power sweep attachment. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

    Thanks for the review. I’ve had the 131 for a few years. It’s a beast. I noticed it’s was very hard to pull the starter rope , so much so that it would yank out of my hand. That’s when one of my mechanic friends told me the clutch was stuck open. When I was pulling it, it was also turning over the attachment too. Ended up replacing clutch and adjusting valves. Back to normal now

    I am in almost your same exact situation. Chose the Komi system for the same reasons. Seemed better than maintaining a bunch of engines and overall less expensive. I too, when first picking up the blower at the dealer, thought this thing can’t be a serious blower. The dealer assured me it was legit. Like you said, it may not replace a high powered backpack blower, but this thing really works. I use the KM130 head, which is the predecessor to the KM131.

    I have used the non backpack Stihl Blower for years and it has worked great (86 C-E). However, after watching your video - this Kombi Blower really moves some leaves. Since Craftsman has decided to vacate the premises - I have been upgrading to other more reliable brands. Stihl has been the main one. I have already started purchasing the Kombi units. The Weedwacker and the Edger - debating on which motor - after your video, your right - no need in messing around with low power. Go for the top. As far as that blower - wow - again - if not for this video - I would have bypass it. Not now - I need to move some leaves in the fall - it is more powerful than my Stihl Blower. Thank you for such a great presentation .

The client I do a lot of work for has a whole host of Stihl equipment including an awesome Stihl back back pack blower but I don't have the budget for that so am going with this. Thank you (Alan from the UK)

    I've got a Stihl kombi head with a few attachments. I've been trying to decide on getting this blower attachment or getting a dedicated handheld blower which are quite light and can be used with just one hand. Do you find the Stihl with its blower attachment heavy to carry around and use. Would it wear you out if you had to use it for a long time, like 30 minutes for example.
    I am pretty impressed though on the huge amount of leaves you are moving in one go with it.

  • @waterbourne9282

    I've just bought my second set after ten years or so of the original- KM-94 power head, blower, line trimer, adjustable angle hedge trimmer, pole saw, edger, and extension. I stayed with the 2 Mix KM 94 power head because it light but has adequate power to run these tools and is a stratified combustion 2 stroke- simple, reliable, and economical- never had a spot of bother with mine maintaining five residential properties over that time. Those 4 Mixes don't have the best reliability reputation from the research that I had done. The only weakness imo is the attachment is a clamp with a plastic key which can chop out over time. On that front I prefer the Husqi and Echo attachment design with the metal pawl. Also, disappointingly, the new hedge trimmer is shorter than the old one and the Husqi equivalent, which means less efficient. I've read that the gearboxes in them blow which may be the reason. I'd have preferred they'd beefed up the gearbox than reduced the potential load on them. And agreed, that blower is excellent.

    Four acres here, 50/50 lawn and jungle here in Michigan... Love the blower attachment, using the 111R head. Great for blowing off the driveway and walks, even snow. For the big leaf blowing jobs, I picked up the Echo Back Pack Blower from Home Depot, much easier for long periods when clearing the yard.

    Thanks for sharing your experience using the big power head. I have the KM 56, which is the smallest. I read on Stihl's web site that the blower will go from 121-157 Mph depending on the KombiMotor and nozzle selected. (Didn't know there were nozzles, but ok.) Only thing that bothered me with the whole thing was that Stihl didn't even list the KM 56 motor on their web site from the list of motors. (you had to dig in the search engine for it). So, who knows what these yahoo's are thinking and if the blower will do 121 with the smallest motor. Again, thanks for sharing with what you have.

    • @1d1hamby
      @1d1hamby 3 года назад +1

      I had the same two power heads KM 56 and KM 131, and there is a definite loss of power with the KM 56 when it comes to the Blower attachment and most of the other attachments.

      @@1d1hamby That's a pity. On a similar note Stihl don't offer their engine powered pressure washers over here in The UK. If they did l might be tempted, l have a Stihl electric one, it's good but I'd like one with more flow.

    I have the Ryboi System - definitely not top tier like the Stihl but it gets the job done for my yard. Earlier models were pretty much garbage but this latest power head seems to be doing pretty good. It can handle a tiller attachment as well as blower and the usual suspects for an interchangeable system.

      Cool. I've seen those. My barber, of all people, has the same system and LOVES it. I always ask him about it and he gets so wrapped up in talking about it he's ready to go home and do yard work! Funny guy. Thanks for watching.

      I've had many of the Ryobi power heads. The only one still working is the electric carded one that hardly ever gets used. The 4 stroke Ryobi power head had the most power, but nothing like the KM 131. Whenever one of the Ryobi attachments broke I replaced it with the Stihl and haven't had a single Stihl attachment wear out. I've been playing with the battery Ryobi power heads and they keep getting better every year.

    • @1d1hamby
      @1d1hamby 3 года назад

      They still haven't made a battery version that has the same performance. They have made a couple battery heads that are fine with lower power requirements for the implements like hedge trimmers and light string trimming. You'll definitely notice a loss of power between the KM 131R and either battery units, KMA 130 or 135 with the Blower and pole saw attachments.
