Excellent job Anthony! As for lettering I would use black making the star in a circle. Lettering is usually marking fuel etc. and Battalion on the bumper but just be creative (as you normally are) Rat Rod In The USA.
That came out great. I was in the Army from 80 to 91, and just used a brush. As far as lettering, lettering was black, fuel was marked, and then battalion and division on left side of bumper and company with vehicle number on right. So..25 1/27, (25th inf. Division 1st battalion. 27th infantry) and HQ 84( headquarters 84 [vehicle number]). If you were to numbered/ letter it for an early year, 40s, 50s, ect. It's a little different with added markings. Good luck.
Hey Anthony, I am impressed ! I am not big into the "Patina" thing. But this "Thing" you have done on this jeep looks pretty damn good. The black and gloss clear really makes the dimples and welds look great . Rat Rod Bob should be proud of you for that exterior. I am so glad you used that respirator ! That light dusting you did with the black really kicked up a heavy fog as seen in the video. I am now paying the price for years of sand blasting in a homemade cabinet, close contact paint spraying, all types of grinding and sanding with no airway or lung protection. Even a mask makes a difference ! Work SAFE, Be Well Stay Warm
This is looking great 👍... and you read my mind when it came to adding numbers to it. You can use black, yellow or white . All were used on military vehicles at one point or another. Generally would be a number just like a serial number basically... make one up. Another number would be like Unit designator like 1/3 or 101st... and another would be a unit symbol stenciled on showing the owning unit. So you could have something like ABX457981 OR 1578932 ... 114TH and then a set of crossed rifles or something... and the Army would perhaps have a star... If the owner ever served in the military. He could used an old unit he belonged to... or even a relative... That would look pretty cool if you are going for a military nostalgic look. Jeep also has a modern WILLY'S that has some markings on it. Forest service vehicles were marked as well. So if the owner was or had a family member in that line of work or just not keen on the military concept. Additionally the military would stencil the tire pressure at the top of the wheel well opening. You can easily find examples on line for ideas. Like the nose art on WWII airplanes.... an ACE of SPADES ♠️ or a pretty gall ... or mascot... You also need some distressed leather or olive drap canvas seat cushions. An old military shovel and axe..even a Jerry can...
Can’t go wrong with the classic white star in a circle. I know it’s not lettering but it’s a good generic military theme. You ever use the 2k in a can clear coat stuff? I use it all the time with great results
Yeah the start seems like it should be on there for sure! I have used some of the 2K in a rattle can and it does work great on smaller stuff. Having that said I fill like I can get a heavier coat out of a gun. Plus this ended up using a whole quart of clear and I think at that point it is cheaper coming out of a gun. I checked out some of your videos looks like I need you to come by and take it form here for the final detail art
@@HardCoreFab yeah that’s true. It would be more cost effective. Those spray cans aren’t cheap! I love patina and making fauxtina rust, I’m not the best at it. I have a helmet video I did for a guy and he wanted a weathered warplane look, I airbrushed it and it came out pretty decent.
It's coming together great, certainly coming a long way, in a short time, it's been 2 months putting side's on my trailer, 4.7 meters X 1.9 m tray and frame were already a trailer, great job, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Great job, Anthony! Personally I liked the interior better befor the clear. I understand the need, and the shine and lighting may be affecting the look. I like the contrast but wish it was satin or flat. Just thoughts, not criticism, I love what you do!
I like my Faux Patina like I like my women. Cheap and easy...lol Keep the awesome videos coming. That series one the Hookers and Blow build was awesome. I have been really busy. Glad you both are doing well!!
@@HardCoreFab Awesome. Sorry I did not get to see you at SEMA but I just was not recovered enough to do all that walking. My 1957 Panhead was a total loss but somehow it saved my life when I got spun up and wrapped around that telephone pole and then run over by that F350. I can still see that vision in my mirror. I am doing great now though and will be in perfect shape soon. I think it was because I was going for classic physique bodybuilding that I am able to recover so quickly however I put 100 pounds on and became a fattty being laid up eating junk food. I lost 57 pounds so far and have another 40 to go.Keep up the great work and I will let you know what my channel is as soon as I start video-ing these awesome projects I have. They start with a barn find three wheeler to a Porsche 914 GT6 factory race car clone. God bless and you both are totally awesome.
It might not be right for this project, but I think it would look cool with that green for the patch panels to be copper. Add some water to a black or the green, and distress the copper so it isn’t really bright. Maybe try a separate piece and hold it up to see what it looks like. That first paint was probably close. Usually there’s something like a star, US ARMY, some numbers 89354, maybe DOD. But for the sake of not being that, you could use something unique, like the name of the jeep. Maybe Willys.
I mean, your spray gun looks alot better than my $20 harbor frieght special. You look like youre actually having fun painting!😂😂 its alot of work to make pai t look good with mine lol
@@HardCoreFab man, i would happily sand and prep for you in trade for coming to the shop and using some of your tools that i dont have myself once in awhile lol be one heck of a road trip though
Great looking patinaish paint there I like the inside and out of the build she is going to be an awesome creation. I have a video in the carshow playlist on my channel "Owasso Harvest car show" I visited with and videoed a restored jeep that had the correct scheme if that is what you are looking for. Thanks for making great content Anthony we all appreciate your efforts!

I'm gen X so I don't get offended when I call myself names! 😂😂😂 Not much has happened at the new place with it being so cold. We'll probably get back at it in a month or so. I really want to be in there before it gets warm again.
I've only watched a couple of those. I remember that they weren't to bad to watch and they drove army jeeps around but nothing else really. LOL I should look them up and watch a few.
Please don’t use the star in the circle. It’s overused. Just something unique in white or black. For a bumper # use HCF on the left and HQ6 on the right. Most Jeeps were numbered with a six. I like it.
How "The Rented Mule" as in beat it like a rented mule. NO! OK How about "Hard Core Fab" in rubbed out white letters on the side. Or ask you wife. What ever you come up with will be killer.

Anthony looks outstanding Very KOOL
Coming around nicely. Can't wait to see it all together.

Very cool interior! I really dig the center console, I most have missed the episode that it was built or I don’t remember anyway lol
I didn't build the console or the seats. I could have but the owner of the jeep bought them before he meet me!
@@HardCoreFab well that makes sense then why I don’t remember you building it. It definitely matches your style of fabricating.

Was there a reason you went gloss black? With the flat exterior, it seems flat black would have matched more
I'm not much on flat black on the outside so I went green....
Why not clear the whole thing 😂 looking good 👍
