Stephanie, I grew up using your Moms book The Joy of Cooking! 70’s version paperback. My parents got it as a promotional gift from a local bank. I was able to learn to cook many things from that book. It was a godsend for me when I first moved out. I have watched many of your videos over time. I am glad I found this recipe. I have been wanting to make a tart like this for some time! Thank you and your family! Your lil terrier was so darling, mine always loves my cooking too!❤ Your recipes are ALWAYS trustworthy!

Actually this tart is proposed in every patisserie here in Switzerland (region lake Geneva) a classical well appreciated even to eat on the go.
Interesting that average eggs in the US are 50 g, I just checked my eggs packages and the average is 58 g. And those from the farmers market are up to 65 g! Depending what pastry you are making it is worth weighing. Like for choux pastry.
And great tip for the apple slices around the edge first. You are a great teacher and it’s a delight to see that you are not only baking with joy but also enjoy tasting and eating your creations.

That cake Jurgen just baked for caramel week with the two different bavarois…I swooned! This tart reminds me of an apple custard pie baked by Germans from Russia in the American Dakotas, which they call “kuchen”- it has a soft, almost cakey crust, not a flakey pastry. This looks fabulous! Will try!

Wow! 🤩 What a beautiful looking Tart! 💖👌 I watched this video too. Here you have blind bake the pastry, where as in the other Apple Tart with cream cheese video you didn’t, so what I’m going to do is, follow the other recipe but using custard instead of cream cheese. You said that should work, so I’m happy to go ahead.😊

Ms Jaworski., I have been a fan of your podcast for quite a while. I have never been disappointed with any of your dishes. Love that you provide metric weight to make measuring ingredients easy.
With all the tips you give me, perhaps I can offer one to you.
I noticed you kept your parchment paper flat and then added your pie weights to the shell. Part of the paper did not nestle into the corners of the shell. I found if I crumple the parchment paper into a tight ball, then flatten it out, the paper will fill to the edges. When I do this I don't even have to spray the back of the paper, so the beans will not stick, because all the little creases do not provide enough flat surface for them to stick.
I have an entire folder of your podcasts in my bookmarks, titled Joy of Baking. It makes it much easier to find the yummy you provided.

Hi new subscriber here so I'm totally sold out on your Recipes. I was craving some nice crusty juicy Apple Pie.. but not the store bought ones.. as the crust is too thin and lacks depth. But lucky I find your one.. it's so very much concise and you take us through alll the steps. I love all your videos and recipes.. thank you for being a great teacher and I like that there is no dramas but you are a genuine baker.. with important tips and tricks to succeed in the baking. I tried few of your recipes before... and they turn out great my kid love .. I don't know if you experiment with oat flour or almond flour or some combination.. I sometimes do and need to adjust other ingredients but you have a beautiful repertoire. Thank you again.
