    This video gave me a better idea of whether, and when, it’s worth using expression maps than the official Dorico videos. Thank you.

    Hi Andres what is your favourite film score. ???, I love the score for Aliens I managed to get the score and the orchestration is amazing exercise in dissonance, but perfect for the movie.

    Thanks a lot Andrés. How does Kontakt behave compared to Halion SE? I was watching John Barron’s tutorial for creating expression maps and playback templates and he said Halion playback template fills in all the corresponding instruments automatically when you switch the playback template to it but for Kontakt instrument you need to fill them in manually. Do you have this situation when you switch to Cinewind playback template? Is there any particular area of differences between the two sample players (Halion SE as Steinberg native plug-in and Kontakt as generic sample player) that you can point out? Also about DAW being easier for CC data copying and pasting compared to Dorico, do you know if they improved that in Dorico 4?

    Hola Andres !
    Recientemente encontré tu canal y me subscribí , me parece genial tu éxito en este medio además, excelente tu habilidad en el piano ! Felicidades !

    Great video, thanks, Andres.
    Do you have any experience with Staffpad and its third-party libraries?
    The default playback sounds unbelievable...

      Hi Alon! Sorry for my late response! Unfortunately I don't have experience with Staffpad. I really haven't had the chance or the time to check it out. I have to say that for my personal workflow, I'm way faster working directly into the notation software than doing it by "hand". But I have to check it out at some point!

    Excellent videos Andres! I am considering getting Dorico to use with the VST's in particular with Spitfires BBC strings. 👏👏

      Thank you! I'd also recommend NotePerformer. You can get pretty good results with way less effort, if you only need a quick reference of your score.

    • @darrynsantanamusic
      @darrynsantanamusic 2 года назад

      Thanks for the recommend! Just one more question: Do you ever use Dorico (and note performer) for a fully finished project? Or are you using them more for reference until you can get a full orchestra to perform it?

    • @andresmontero88
      @andresmontero88  2 года назад

      @@darrynsantanamusic Good question. I'm using Dorico for sketching. If I need a finished score or if I'm orchestrating Sibelius is my go-to program. And if I need a better mockup, I'll do it in Cubase or Digital Performer.

      @@andresmontero88 Oh great! Have you ever used the playback from these programs (with VSTS and expression mappings etc) for a finished project for screen or any other project?

      Hi Mahmmuod! I honestly encourage you to create your own expression map. That's the best way to learn! In my experience it's very hard to work with someone else's template since you may not know all the "tricks" and how to use it in an efficient way. There are many resources online that will help you to create your own template and I'm sure you will customize it to your specific needs. Best luck Mahmmuod!
