I had an 86 and loved it. I would drive from Ft. Campbell to Tampa FL (750 miles) in about 10 hours, every few weeks, over the four years I was stationed there. That little car could handle it with no problem. I always thought the second gen had similar profile proportions to a Mustang Loved that little car
I live right down the road over here in west NC. Go to automotive school at Tri. I see this little rig running around town all the time. The man even came to the school with it one time to get some diagrams or something for I think an egr issue. Definitely got the right buyer for it. He sure likes that thing lol.
Yeah a 1984 1.6 HO (Higher Output, 80hp hemi) 5-speed. Zero options in that one but that's no problem, fantastic cars that are just due for everything 40+ years of age requires. I love mine!
My 1st car!! Exactly the same but maroon. I drove the wizz out of that thing. My g.f. at the time loved it too...for all the right reasons. Btw.. Escort EXPerimental was the "official" name.
I bought a new EXP in 1982. I couldn't get rid of it soon enough. I really hated this car, So many times the car wouldn't start and I had to crawl under it to wiggle the wires on the starter for it to turn over.
Had an 82 Mercury LN7 which is essentially the same car! Loved it and take care of this gem!
We sold it to a man in Murphy NC who has made a daily driver out of it. It lives on
Good to hear!
I've had 3 of these! An 82, 84, and 86. They were great little cars. This engine sounds great to have been sitting. 👍
Cool little cars
I had one of these back in the 90s and loved it. I thought it was a fun car. I'd own another, given the chance.

They are getting hard to find nowadays
I had a Mercury LN7. I loved that car.
My first car was an 87 EXP, fun little car even if it had no power. I had two more in the early 2000s but moved up to Mustangs.

So odd looking looking that is cute !
Very cool. I have an immaculate blue one.
Have you done a video on it?
Not yet but I need to. It’s on the (big) list. 👍 How much are you selling it for?
I bet that red will shine right up too
Thats a cool car, that would be fun to fix up!
Do the wasp nest look around! Everytime I am near an old car that has been sitting.
Man, I've killed 7 nest just around the shop.
@@phillipsrundripbubblecompa9232 they are everywhere for sure. I have a serious Brown Recluse problem in my garage!

They haven't changed much.......
I’d love to buy this car ❤
I would love for you to buy it!
I don't think I've ever heard of them.
They were a big flop....
Not really. They sold close to 200,000 of them during it's run I believe.
Bad ass
I have an 87 exp sport
Would love to see it. Send pictures if you can.
