"2007 Western Conference Quarterfinals"
That's a.... "nice" way of putting it.
quarterfinals r when there r 8 teams remaining
@@user-cr8wo6vi8w 1st round quarter
2nd round semi
3rd round conf final
4th round finals
The Bad Boy Pistons, while known for defense, often played what is now considered ‘position-less’ basketball.
That was when MVP awards were presented in the playoffs, that must have hurt so much for Dirk add up that this is a season after they blew a 2-0 finals lead.
He received the award after they got eliminated. Seems pretty normal nowadays.
@@chowderchowdown that award show they do nowadays where they award regular season awards after the finals seems so pointless.
It was so bad that Dirk spent the offseason on some kind of Australian walkabout trying to find peace and meaning in life. Mark Cuban cried during Dirk's MVP presentation and Dirk didn't even want to accept the award. So yeah, it was a pretty devastating loss.
usually the player got the award in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs during a home game cause it was assumed his team would go that far. thats probably the 1st time in nba history that mvp got eliminated in 1st round
Baron Davis was legitimately one of the best playoff performers of all time.
Aside from that play-off series against the Mavs and that dunk against the Jazz, what other Baron Davis play-off performanced can you recall to place him as one of the best play-off performers?
@@namesurname7172 2002 when he outplayed Tracy McGrady on the Hornets
@@tdgtroy That's not saying much, TMac never won a single playoff series in his whole career, unless you count that Spurs run in '13.
@@tdgtroy Anything else? A performance that led the team to a at least a Finals appearance or, better yet, a championship?
@Adrian Flores All these hype men are trippin' balls.
I remember this shit like it was yesterday. Me and my friends tried to sneak in but never got into any of the games. Still had fun trying though. Reg season was easy but this series they had extra security
yup iremember this too,.......cool story bro
lol - my brother (and many others) waited at the Oracle parking lot for the ticket booth to open on the day of the game (game 3) to purchase the residual tickets, probably 7am or something. Once a booth opened - and it was not known which one would be open - there was a mad sprint to the open booth, people jumping over parking dividers, climbing walls, etc. to get in line for the chance to buy the few hundred remaining tickets. It was totally worth it and in our house hold, we still have the Comcast We Believe Tshirt swag from that game.
I still remember watching this on national tv. Feel's just like yesterday...
We believe still gives me chills
Baron is my favourite player of all time 🤙🏾🔥
I wish their was a warriors vs suns wcf that woulda been nuts
I worked at a restaurant right next to where the Mavs were staying that series (out in Berkeley). A few of them came in for breakfast that week. My respect for Mark Cuban as an owner grew because that hotel was BALLER.
Yay this is my team 🥴🥺missed that play style
This team made me a basketball fan again
Same!
As much as i love the we believe team, aint no way im putting them above any of the recent championship teams as favorites.
I became a fan after this warriors roster deafeated the mavs
I still got my we believe shirt! It’s true. It was a magical time. Plus there was no way we could’ve foreseen the curry era that was to come so we all cheered like no other because it had been so long since the warriors had made the playoffs!
We believe warriors were a different breed. Glad i got to witness them in my childhood.
BD was my dude. Loved watching that guy growing up!
Out of curiosity, this isnt affiliated with "TheScore Esports", is it? (Not criticism if you are, just would find it amusing due to the wildly different presentation aesthetic)
I still believe the 1984 Nets over the 76ers was a bigger upset than this. The defending NBA champions knocked out by a group of virtual unknowns. Philadelphia lost all three home games
😭we believe it the best ever 💪🏾
This guy makes me miss the days of radio voices
Ah yea this season was interesting
people think the 73-9 warriors were a failure until they’re reminded of this team😭
Warriors had three or four all stars this Mavericks team had dirk and maybe you wanna say Howard 😂
@@jasonsandhu3760 lmao. What a dumbass
@@jasonsandhu3760 the warriors lost in the finals by one possession not to an 8th seed
@@jasonsandhu3760 My god, youre a pro at saying stupid shit. You must be a kid or something. Seriously, because if you were actually alive back then, then you knew this was statistically one of the best Mavs teams of all time. Im pretty sure he mentioned it in the video too.
Baron Davis was absolutely scorching in this series while Dirk completely shit the bed. Davis was going 25 6 and 6 on 54% shooting and 46% from three. Dirk put up 19 and 11 a game on 38% shooting and 21% from three.
This wasn't supposed to happen. There was a blip in the system.
Baron Davis was a beast
They were the beginning of today's NBA
not even the one seed could take a game =at oracle
I'll be honest I do prefer the Warriors' jerseys back in the We Believe Era
Great channel guys fuck how have you not got more subs. I have.
I still hate the we believe warriors for that.
Golden state had our number that year
94 nuggets over the Sonics is my pick for biggest upset.
Awww showing your age that was up there
@Notorious1503 94 was a long a time ago but it at the same time it wasn't the 90s was a long time ago in terms of culture and technology
@Notorious1503 shit bro where I'm from niggas die young your truly blessed if you see 21
@C I'll say that 2007 Golden State Warriors over the Dallas Mavericks is 1 and the 1994 Denver Nuggets over the Seattle Supersonics is 1A.
Who tf is montuh ellis
Steph Curry’s welcome to the nba moment
Sports history ?
Miami should've lost to the Mavs in 06', Miami could've 3peated in 2011-13, Cavs should've won in 2015, warriors might've 4peated from 2016-19.
6kOk3 cavs would’ve still lost in 2015
@@jojoprocess2820 strong possibilty.
Golden state beat the shit out of dallas in that series.
They got totally abused
before the all the bandwagon.
this team.
AL HARRINGTON!!!!!!!
OMG. great team.
The mavs were not the championship favorites. 94 the nuggets (8seed) beat the Sonics (1seed). Whoever won the west that year would have won the chip against the knicks in the east. Houston took the Sonics ring because of the nuggets, and Houston could not beat the Sonics in the playoffs. They lost to the Sonics all the time.
I look at this team and wonder how they won 67 games to begin with. Outside of Dirk, they were not a loaded team at all and the team that won the title in 2011 had a way better roster. I honestly had Phoenix as the favorites that year anyway.
Remind me what anybody on that warriors team won ? Anyone ? Ya that's what I thought flash in the pan
You dont get it. You had to be in the Bay to understand what this team meant to us. For some younger fans like myself, this was the FIRST time I ever saw my team in the playoffs.
That team might not have won much on paper, but they won the hearts of millions of people. They celebrate the anniversary of We Believe out here on the radio and other local places STILL.
haha baron nvr got the chip thoooo
Much Respect for the “We Believe” Warriors. I’ll always respect that squad much more than the Kerr-led Curry/Thompson/Iguodala Warriors.
why didn't your team's GM draft Curry, Klay, Harrison, or Green? hmmmm??? I'll bet you never hated on the warriors between '10- '15
Then they underperformed against the Jazz. That's what this team is. A second-round exit. And highly overrated.
How is an 8 seed upsetting a one seed underperforming? They were never expected to have a shot against the jazz.
That Warriors team wasn't a championship caliber team at the time. They were just the worst possible matchup for the Mavs for their play style.
@@ronaldz6476 And the 2007 We Believe Golden State Warriors came into the playoffs hot winning 16 of their final 21 games and were 3-0 against the Dallas Mavericks in the regular season.
@@owens7807 It wasn't an upset.
