Good Day. What a quick new area that you created. Love it. I an in agreement with you that this type of gardening is quick and fast and really does improve that look that you are going for. Also you are so ever right that due to the size you can change that area in the future if need be. Enjoy your new container area. Also enjoy the sunshine.
Amanda I love the cardboard method. I also add compost and mulch on top of this. I also deal with Bermuda.. the worst! Not a fan of landscape fabric but everyone has an opinion. 😊
I just love your channel. I cannot wait to watch how your garden evolves this year. It's come so far & it's so fun to watch the changes & see you turn your visions into reality. So inspiring ❤
Amanda, this is another great tutorial! You've inspired me to try to copy what you've just done in our backyard. I love hearing your neighborhood kids playing outdoors! We have kids in Dallas and Frisco who are getting ready along with you for the winter blast coming tomorrow! (Thursday and Friday, 1/9 and 10!) BRRRRR! Hugs from Houston!❄️🥶💗
Enjoyed this video, I have bought the same edging but not used it yet and in the process of doing the same with cardboard and landscaping fabric in between my raised beds, my grandmother used newspaper and cardboard in her garden too. I love what you are doing to your back yard.
Love this! I have done this by sections in my front garden, who needs weeds and grass right? The only think I do different is I tack it down with camping stakes or garden stakes, as we have lots of wind. As I get older, I appreciate not wasting too much time weeding but enjoying my flowers etc. You use what you have! Good choice! Keep warm!
The back yard is looking great. Just a quick question, could one replace the mulch with gravel? Still using the same method, just gravel instead of mulch? The border is great. It looks to hold the mulch exactly where you wanted it.
I'm watching this Jan 3rd video on Jan 8th from the Houston area and wondering how the snow or ice storm prediction is going to affect your area garden. Hopefully it warms enough so that threat goes bye bye!😮
I have to give up working in the garden around November and by December there is snow. You're lucky/or not to be able to work in your garden at this time

Great chore- yeah to Gardening 2025!!🎉
When you were opening the stakes for the edging and not talking, I had the closed captioning on and it read, (“applause”)… that was so funny to me.🤣
Good job amanda.cannot wait to garden again. Were -12 with the windshield feels like -19. So I'm enjoying ur video❤😊

I love that you add compost on top of the cardboard as well! Bermuda can be brutal!

Thank you so much! I love sharing the journey.

Thanks, it’s really fun to watch everything come together.
Keep warm!
Same to you!

It sounds like you have a great system for dealing with the wind!
Love the zinnia shot at the end!
Thanks!
Ohmygoodness, your tall containers look gorgeous!
Thanks, they're one of my favorite parts of the garden!
Great job 😊
Thanks so much!
It’s very rare to hear a gardener say, “just die already!” 😂😂 I am sitting up here in northern Montana saying, “just melt already!” ❄️☃️

Hi Amanda. Curious. Why you didn’t add another Raised Bed? Looks great with what you did. 😌
I wanted an area for container gardening!

My husband years ago asked me, “Didn’t we use to have more grass?” Now he doesn’t even ask.
I just tell my husband he must be getting faster at mowing each year
Haha, that's awesome!

Love using cardboard. Much easier than digging up the grass.
Definitely!

We’ve already had several days of temps in the 20 this week so everything is asleep now. They just cancelled school for the next few days too.

It’s definitely a trade off. The winter is long but the summer is long too!
