I've collected so much good information and now need to just do it; make lots of music and finish them. It's funny how you can find something at the right time that motivates you. I’m a massive, massive Quantity leads to quality!! The more I write, the better my songs get! I do a lot of speed writing sessions where I have to write a song based on a prompt and record a phone demo in an hour or less

I have about 200 songs on my Mac half finished and it just gets stressful and overwhelming. But at the same time it’s a gold mine I can go back to to find stuff. And I just sent my first song to Spotify and I’ve only been producing for about a year. I just do it for fun. It sounds good enough to me and I don’t care about much else. People should do the same so they can evolve their skills. It’s true, learning comes from just finishing it and sending it out.
What it does show is that there are a lot of people out there with no sense of taste. It's why I write for myself. I trust my sense of artistic taste over the general public. Who the heck are they to judge art?
It's crazy I've been learning from you since I was like 15. I've usually done instrumentals but songwriting is something I've just started getting into, so I'm glad to see this happening!
Hey I'm back here again, I started using Reaper a year ago but now I'm back to GarageBand (best presets ever). Can't live without Roland TR's, LinnDrums, SDS-V... The only thing I don't like is the fact that you can't compose at 3/4, you can work with the MIDI tracks to adjust them to other beat outside 4/4, and that's quite annoying, but anyways, GB rules.
Hey buddy...I got a ???? In GarageBand my plugins (that are not GarageBand plugins) are looking like GarageBand plugins on the screen now,I don't know what I did. Could u help me
Hey Lewin, those of us out here in the ether see that you have returned with new energy. So the universe spun up some good mojo and zapped you with that final push to 100k - well over a decade of tireless work and the craziness of life. Feels as though there is good in the air for all of us trying to move forward. Without the creative 'drug' of music and the various versions of my studio, I would have failed many times over. Congratulations!!

I think the main thing i get lost at is when to use compressors, limiters, gates etc.
