apparently his manufacturing partner has been a real jerk (delayed delivery, demanding additional payments, etc) so he's making the next batch in Finland. I bet they'll be really unique since he can tinker more with shorter lead times
Yeah it’s such a shame, he’s handled it all very well I think and looking forward to the Finnish boards
if I am not mistaken, he even received death threats from a Chinese manu over something that didn't go right.. I'm not sure if it's the same thing you're talking about, it's been a min since I've been on the baion discord but that whole thing was wild and yea he did handle everything well. very happy with my r2 and it's number 1 on my desk :>

A great video essay... "endgame" or "collection showpiece" keyboard means different things for different people... and a deep dive into the Bias and how you came to that decision is definitely something more people should think about when in this hobby.
Considering it's more than just an interface we use daily... it's like many boutique or luxury goods, the experience and connection with the product is often a strong factor.
If you have the means to spend time and money on something, it usually will align with your worldview and of course PREFERENCE.
That's why I'm looking at Dry Studio's X AngryMiao's upcoming Black Diamond75. It brings a uniqueness and a design language that really has me excited as a gearhead.

from the name of Bias i always had an impression that this was a kpop inspired keyboard
just built a bias a couple days ago, other than the price tag, i hate how the bumpons wont stick on the weight, other than that, its not a bad looking board over all, i much prefer the FNF edition compared to the public model
I haven’t had any issues with the bumpons but I’ll keep my eye out! Price tag definitely hurts haha
@@Charo.mp4 it looks like it might be the coating on the weight, it sticks on the case just fine tho, hopefully yours dont have the same problem as mine
I have the non acid etched one, and it sticks no problem

I found my endgame board in a design I had manufactured for myself, doesn't get any more personal than having your name and logo on a board that you love the sound and feel of. Great video, really touches on what endgame actually embodies!

END GAME IS JUST A DREAM! Previously I got the TGR Jane V2 ME and TGR 910 V2 ME. Now I have a new Unikorn R2.2 Berlin Blue. SO end game is a LIE!! LOL! Now waiting for my Cycle 7 Jasper Green!! :P

Nice video but unfortunate time to mention Baion keyboards given the recent controversy around them (delay in fulfillment, lack of QC, delay in refunds etc etc...)

There is only 1 keyboard I've seen in over a decade that actually makes me want it because of the design work. That's the Kohaku.
Other than that, I just don't care. They all basically look the same to me (including this Bias board, I've seen 10 other boards look just like it). All have the same basic shapes, mounts, weights, etc. And I have a real distaste for logo/branding on any visible part of a product. Just tacky IMO.
As I mentioned, for me it's the Kohaku and really nothing else in the high end interests me. The colors, weight design, etc just work for me. Still wish it has actual modern features though. Which is why everything else will be
I'm the total opposite of you. I bought a Kohaku purely because I absolutely love how it sounds. The bottom of the weight design with the koi is beautiful but aesthetically, everything else about the keyboard is very basic and uninteresting; it's just a wedge. With something like the Monokei Kei, which is also a wedge, you have a filleted edge running across the sides of the board to break them up and add flair. I'm also not the hugest fan of the zig-zag shape of the Kohaku's weight at the back, as I feel it clashes with the smooth/non-angular design language of the rest of the board. I'm willing to overlook all that because the Kohaku sounds insane (and feels nice to type on too).
If you're in search of some interesting designs, you might like jjwkb's work. The Moment, Derivative and Cloudline are all rather unique in their own ways. The Moment is the only board I'm planning on picking up right now, once extras come out. Some other interesting designs I've seen as of late are the Duality by Saevus (though the design is quite polarising) and the Quantum60 by ABunchofNumbers (I love how it incorporates polycarbonate into the design, the plateless o-ring mounting system sounds interesting, and the XT60 layout is appealing to me). A board with a stunning side profile which unfortunately isn't publicly available is the Empyrean by Hali.
