Dan, is making a small team of copywriters that specialize in different subjects better then starting alone? And will it build credibility faster?
Don't see how.
First, get known in the market for doing one specific thing.
Earn credibility for that niche.
Then, and only then, branch out.
Genuine market trust can only be earned when you go from being a specialist to niched generalist.

why does he say " shadow a master copywriter" as A) there all just laying around and hanging out looking for shadowers (finding a "master" copywriter seems like a secret society) B) most writers I know have a deficit mentality -- they don't share! Having worked in advertising for many years, I can tell you that there is no such thing as mentoring or shadowing or any of that type of behavior. Everybody is in a dog eat dog world and they are not about to share their clients or whoever comes along. This isn’t relevant so move along to other ways of trying to break into the copy industry. Also you can do fiverr but I would never do anything on spec.
But how to get noticed from customers? Which platform to use???

Cause he is busy doing other things. At some point, it becomes more efficient to outsource. He still can use his copywriting skill to review copy and find other good copywriters to work for him.

I don't doubt you Dan, but what about competition? I was just on fiverr, and there were hundreds of copywriting gigs posted. Most charge just $5 to $10 per job. It just seems that copywriters are abundant in supply, that itbhas driven demand down, greatly lowering prices.

The market sets the prices for subpar copywriters.
Good copywriters, who generate revenue for their clients, set their own price.
When you provide, you command a price.
P.S.: Don't use Fiverr, UpWork or any job board. Hunt for companies (of all sizes) or entrepreneurs whom you can genuinely help with your copywriting. And watch how you can set your own price, which is a sweet spot for you and your client.

Think of the people who inspire you, whom you learned from, whose content notifications light you up.
Create a list of them.
And, ask. You will never get to know who is willing to help if you never ask for it.
Be brave. Be honest. Be genuine. AND ask. :)
