One of your best videos in my opinion. Concrete and applicable. I really like when you give examples on how to turn a unfavorable situation (having no clients, first client would have to take a risk) into a favorable one (client gets his copy for free and in turn gets recommends you). As you did in one of your Vancouver Entrepreneurs Group videos, where you explained how to buy your competition without the necessary funds by making an exclusive deal with your supplier. Great Salesman advice!

This video is extremely helpful. I am very talented when it comes to writing already so I think with a lot of practice I can become one of the best most successful copywriters. Adding value first is so important to securing your first job, it's what most freelances forego because there's this huge ego between freelancers of "I'm not going to work for free" when you start...
They are all missing the point...no one said to accept a low-paying gig or to let the client hustle you out of money...the point is to find someone you'd like to work with, make something for them that they'll appreciate (give them value) and say "Look, here's some of my work, you're free to use it because I made it just for you, let me know if you like it and we can work together"...
That's what I did when I secured my first longterm client...I wanted to write for his blog and sent him a "remastered" version of one of his most successful pieces (as you said with your example, you don't have to come up with something completely new and original, just improve something that's already working) and he absolutely loved it, scheduled a meeting with me and I was hired within days from that.
