Thanks for taking the time to show Bill and Wildfing doing their ‘fing’, that was great to see them in their element. The contrast with the other modified Rovers was astounding. The very definition of ’built, not bought’.
Hi, This is Bill. You Tube won’t allow me to reply to individual comments,it never has. So this is a one off reply on my partner’s phone. A question was asked about the low gearing on Tim’s portalled 110. The crawl ratio works out at around 208:1. That is calculated by,LT95 1st gear of 4.06:1 multiplied by 3.321:1 low range in transfercase multiplied by 2.57:1 underdrive, multiplied by 5.99:1 in the Volvo portal axle assemblies. Thank you all for the positive comments.
My old 63 series 2 was laughing its wheel nuts off watching that.......until i got a couple of old bottle jacks out of the scrap pile.greetings from auld blighty.
Fantastic to see Bill and his rigs again-havent seen him since he worked at Middleborough Rd all those years ago :) He has always been a pioneer and his rigs awesome! Fab video!
Thank you for this awesome video. The old series / defender is awesome. An example of how to turn a lot of old parts and clever engineering into a great off-road beast.
Hey Orkney mate, Absolute pearler of a video, it was great to see some Rovers being tut through their paces - You guys are insane. This may be a bit of a longshot, but I would kill to know the dimensions of the 'Yellow' Landy's Trimcast storage box in the tub, it fits bloody perfectly!
As per usual great content and I hope you got a good yarn with Bill he's a very very knowledgeable and smart bloke hope to meet him on person some time in the future
Old one has an axle articulation really impressive. If we think that 2020 Defender has independent suspension...I think something has been lost during the decades...
@@defender90orkney9 I agree...Land Rover has loose a market share... Has created a Freelander "clone", making all its products common SUV in a wide market, but full of different opportunities for people. I think a wrong decision.
There's 1 109 series in NSW with c303 volvo axles and custom PTO winch i watch the other day on youtube, would be awesome if u could check him out 1 day😁cheers from borneo🍻
I would love to know Bill how that suspension works I don’t see to much to it visibly…but works a treat ..can I see the set up somewhere ? Keep well guys
There is a vid done by the bloke that owned tiny the landy on portals can't remember the channel but does a walk around with Bill and yes it's a weapon
I live in Costa Rica but I moved to Australia in the 90s,now 2 of my children live in Victoria,my wife is from Melbourne.I have a land rover here ,is the best car ever.Your videos are fantastic, congratulations.

As a fellow locked down Defender owing Victorian, I really appreciated and enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking the time to film, edit and upload!
Bill's Wildfing is a pretty extreme beast all right
That series is the hardest landrover in Oz. Love it.

@@defender90orkney9 The Axel articulation is insane. From this kind of video, my Land Rover's heart is racing.
Poetry in motion. If Shakespeare was into wheeling, he'd pale in comparison. Best channel on the Tube Damo. Loved it brother!
Wildling sounds like it's coming apart but its not that is the sound of ROVERIZED BADASSERY !!

That old boy is a crackerjack engineer with his ingenious piston shackles.
Great video of some really well built rigs and no silly music well done 👍🏻

Awesome
That’s is pretty extreme, can’t believe the angles you were driving, roof on the bank kinda angles!
Are those Revolver Shackles by Metal Made Rite / Tera out of Wyoming, US? That's some sick droop out of the Landy.
@@defender90orkney9 that's pretty amazing. Verry innovative.
whats the leaf set up of this? i want that backend to flex like that in my cruiser
How did you guys find out about Bill
Wild thing is a weapon!
Satisfiying offroad...

Yes they are the best and toughest 4wd ever

What are the shackles on the rear of that swb land rover at the beginning, lots of flex and clonking as they move, homemade?
Home made, along with his home made portals!
Search Australian series two on RUclips and you can find a while video of it in action, with interview.
@@richardlawton8986 unfortunately when you type in what you said it comes up with an abundance of TV stuff, couldn't find it.

Landy "trapp" made by Wombat ha ha!
with difflocks front and rear not many vehicles get trapped in the Wombat holes obstacle.
How much did you guys spend on portals?
The old guy built his own portals out of old rover transfer case gears and built the housings himself
what gearing has the 110. the 1st low seems pretty low
@@defender90orkney9 transer case 2.8:1? or lower. it has an lt230? or is an isuzu with an lt 95?
@@onwheels8232 I think that Land Rover 90 has 3,3:1
