This sucks too because the drug she tested positive for is trimetazidine. It’s a heart medication to treat sudden pain in the jaw, back, and chest brought on by physical labor due to the blood vessels being too narrow to allow enough oxygen. It doesn’t enhance her performance. It would only make her endurance/stamina better. I would understand the disqualification if it was a sport like long distance sprinting, but this is a sport showcasing technique, not endurance. The only “edge” it gives her is being able to breathe!!!
You need a lot of endurance to skate the free program, not to even mention that you also need endurance to train 16 hours a day like they do. Trimetazidine is NOT a medication a child should be taking. It is also indeed a performance-enhancing drug. If she needed a medication to be able to "breathe", she could've gotten an official exemption (TUE), but the truth is that Trimetazidine does give her an advantage.
