My first comment on Brian Phillips RC as a new Patreon Member 👍. Loved the maiden flights. Getting ready to watch the unbox, build and radio setup. Love this channel.
Thanks Jeff, and glad you're here with us!!!
Looking great Brian & Megan. And a haircut to boot!
Thank you ;)
Thanks Guys. Really enjoy your videos. Watching from New Zealand.
Our pleasure and Thanks Paul! Glad you're here with us. We've been watching "Gold Rush - Parker's Trail" for the last few months, and seeing NZ is really cool. Of course, we've seen it before, but this has been a pretty cool overview of the islands.
Would love to visit sometime, but probably have about 10,000,000 other things I need to get done first ;)
Thank you guys
welcome ;)
Ive been looking at this one closely. It looks so good.... Can't wait to see your maiden!
It's up now ;) Hope you got a chance to see her fly.
@@BrianPhillipsRC OH god its a Dog. Pass. Looks so good though...... what a bummer.
I learned how to fly jets with the mini horizon ones. These are great starter planes. This is a very good looking plane for a starter plane. It may be too fast for a first jet.
I'm in the Styrofoam recycling business. We melt it down to cubes and it's then in a factory 20 miles away made into crown molding. It's mostly used for molding on Cruse ships
Cool! I bet it's stinky!
I like watching unboxing first thanks guys
We have them up first for you Shane ;)
If you re planning it to be a belly lander maybe leaving the ventral fins off the bottom might be something to try. Very nice looking plane and snazzy colors!
I’m happy to be second! Great channel guys, Love it.❤✈
Thanks - Me too ;) [name]
Hi
My radio gear has the SAFE feature from spektrum. Will it be suitable to use it i this jet?
The real SU 27 actually uses flapperons just like an F16 so it is kinda scale minus the leading edge slats of course. Also interestingly enough My SU 27 came with the spring loaded suspension nose gear. I'm not using it tho because My field is grass so I just belly land.
It does land in grass, but you'll break off the tip of your nose cone every time - DANG IT!!!! I've done it twice now ;( LOL This of course is a 30 second repair, but it's annoying, and somewhat unavoidable due to the nose pointing downward on this beauty.
@@BrianPhillipsRC yupp broke mine off several times as well haha
Mr Phillips I am looking for your expertise with my nx6 controller...my son found his way into the settings and I now have a battery warning stuck on and the controller will not do anything other than tell me "warning battery low" even after putting fully charged batteries in it...im sure I need to go back into the warning menus and reset it but the problem is it goes into the warning before I can make it to the menu and it leaves me froze out...how do I fix this problem so that I don't have to put my foot up my boys behind ? Lol
As always I love your tutorials and so do my boys..God bless and keep up the good work .
Press and hold the scroll button while powering up the NX6 to get into SYSTEM SETUP. This is then how you might be able to bypass that warning, since that warning had to do with RF Module, not the whole tx.
Try this
2 động cơ 50mm thì âm thanh có hơn 1 động cơ 64mm không vậy ? Please recoment
Hi Brian,
Is it possible that you share the values for as3x and safe???
This would help a lot for a newbie in programming. 😉
We show the entire setup. We haven't changed any settings.
I love mine running a 2600 mah R Top fun jet
Do you really cram it to the back?
2600’all the way back long pack and I also use a 2800 shorty I’m the middle
Hi brian what do you think about the Spektrum DX6i transmitter and what is the best recever to use with that system?
This transmitter was good in it's day. If you want to use it, that's fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. I would save up and get something more current so you aren't all of a sudden not able to control the "next plane".
Also keep in mind, 6 channels is rarely enough for the most popular planes anymore. From experience 8-9 channels will get you along for some time, and we have been very happy with out NX8.
IF you find one for super cheap, used, or if you wanted to try to get a used NX8, might be wiser decision.
As for if you already have one and want to use it, it's in the DSM protocol, but not sure if it's DSMX (the current protocol). But I'd be more worried about the absence of Forward Programming, which is required for many new BNF models coming out. NX8 will get you up to speed and keep you there for a long time.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Hi Brian I did pick one up for $75 dollars looks brand new in its original box the radio does support DSM2 and DSMX protocols according to its manuel seemd like a good place to start till I can go into a more up-to-date system all my planes are curently 6 channel planes from hobby king so I only need 5 channels on a 6 channel receiver for the gyro no flaps or gear so I thought it a good fit just not sure about its range or the best recever to use with it not sure if it is an over all improvement from my current FLYSKY I6X 10 channel system I appreciate your thoughts thank you
I bought su27 in UK b4 I noticed your doing setup vid how hell did u get flaps on y lead that comes standard with jet I just can't see how u did it could u do flaps only set up pls as I need slow jet down for landing cheers
We covered the whole procedure in this video ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I just realised u cut joined up cables and put servo connector sorry just had brain freeze lol
Brian, I bought this plane and I didn’t know that I would have to split the aileron connector. Is there any other way to make it work other than splitting the wire? I’m currently using a AR620 receiver and plugging the aileron into either channel 2 or 6 wasn’t doing anything. If I used a AR420 would It work by only having the 4 channels, or is splitting the wire the only way?
If you dig out the "Y" Cable you can do it without, but you need more channels to do flapperons, so if you don't really mind, just leave them together.
P.S. AR410 doesn't have AS3X/SAFE - sorry, not sure if that matters for you...
P.S. I tried to reply the other day, but my PC freaked out and I lost Internet for some reason, and the comment disappeared to the inter web - sorry about that!
Channel Control (in no particular order)
1) Throttle
2) Rudder (Steerable nose gear)
3) Elevator
4) Ailerons
So...I guess you COULD use the AR410, but no AS3X / SAFE...

@@BrianPhillipsRC Thanks so much, I’m pretty new to “hobby grade” planes so I always try to find a video of yours to explain it. Is there a 5th Y connector in the canopy/fuselage or only the 4 that are clearly visible? I also have a AR620 and my ailerons won’t work plugged into channel 2 or 6 so does that mean I would have to split it, get a AR410, or is there a 5th Y connector somewhere in the plane.
HELP!!!!! So I finally got around to rebuilding my pkz f4f wildcat used same receiver same everything just new airframe got it binded up to my dx6e with the safe and as3x well for some reason my ailerons are acting as flaps left and right on right stick gives me up and down and no opposite direction I've tried making it dual ailerons by putting one on ch6 and the other on aileron channel and with that set up I get left and right but safe and as3x only work on one aileron servo idk what to even try to fix it sorry for the random question but I figured you would be the one to try and ask but this is driving me crazy and I'm out of ideas and RUclips videos lol
There are about 20 questions I don't know the answer too to be able to actually help, but I'll do my best...
What Rx is in it? I can't remember all the different interactions I have here on RUclips, please forgive me.
If you have the channel, you won't be able to use it for the ailerons...since the AS3X will correct only one of the ailerons (so technically you CAN do it, but the roll axis will be more sloppy than you're used too).
If you have a Y Cable splitting the ailerons, and they both go the same direction, you either have....
1) one servo mounted backward.
2) one servo REVERSED (It's a different type of servo that is called a REVERSE SERVO)
3) something else, I have no clue about
To fix this, you can either get a NON-Reverse servo in one of the wings...but you need to identify which one is correcting the RIGHT way when you have AS3X (and SAFE) on. This is critical. You need to know...fix the ONE THAT'S NOT CORRECTING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
You can accomplish THIS by putting a servo signal reverser AFTER the Y splitter on the path to the MESSES UP AILERON. Or you can take out THAT WRONG AILERON SERVO and rewire it to be a "reverse" servo (or at least reverse it from what it's doing) - pull it out, open the case, desolder two of the three wires on the feedback pot, and swap them (any of the three wires) then swap the two wires on the motor. This is the OTHER way...but adding a servo signal reverser is way easier for most...fyi

to start with it had the ar636a in it and me trying anything I could think of I switched it to the ar637ta with the telemetry even tho i cant figure out how to use telemetry for battery life but anyway pulled out the servo and under the factory glue it has a rev sticker so I'm gonna swap it out with a pkz sv80 and hope for the best thanks so much for the reply and plenty of options to try and get it right hopefully by this afternoon she will be in the air for the first time in forever my old one got used so much and got brittle around the firewall and the 1100kv on 4s with a 50amp esc was just to much for her and the motor just pulled right off and down she went
well you were right it had a reversed servo on one aileron changed it out and shes good as new thanks so much man I really appreciate the reply and options on what to look for and how to fix it
First time being first on a Brianphillipsrc video👍🏻
Congrats!!!
What is the red plane under the table???
Coming very soon - Futura 80mm V3 bit.ly/3vMZDhS - We have the footage, but they're NOT yet in stock, so we won't punish you with a plane you can't buy ;) Should be a week or two before you see it.
@@BrianPhillipsRC thank you sir!
What is the purpose of spoilerons I don't follow that
They spoil the lift on the wing. It's another method to help with landings.
Just makes it all the better seeing a Ukraine 🇺🇦 emblem on the tail and not a Russian one! Now it'll get a like lol
Don't like that gold on the engines that supposed to be their take on the heat staining lolt that's to much brightness on the flanker it's awful! they should leave the canopy off let us glue it as they seemed to use glue with vape that fog the clear parts! That's just shoddy! Soz that's one big issue alot have with canopies like this! Aww no side winders? Real thing also has front wing flaps alirones
Agreed! But I like the gold ;)
Watched a video on this, not very inspiring predicated upon the speed and control.
No thanks, ill be happy with the Arrows Viper 50mm. Nimble and fast
This one needs a smaller battery, and it's NOT a speed demon. Also, it does edge dangerously close to "Battery Eater" status, with even 100C packs - so be ware ;) Love the looks, and want to make her all she can be, so soon, with second thoughts, maybe she'll have a rudder and a smaller, further back battery? There's just something not quite 100% YET...and I want to get it figured out.
I watch a lot of your videos a like them but that is the worst color I have seen on a plane yet. Especially a jet.
I love it, but to all their own. You can also get it in GRAY.
