No probs. First there was a group discussion about teamwork in the school - both within the class and amongst the teaching staff. That lasted about 15 mins. It was quite relaxed and everyone got to speak. As ever with these group discussions I think it was more about how you interact with the others, do you dominate and not let anyone else get a word in or do you become a wallflower and say nothing. The individual interview was 3 Qs; - Why do you want to become a secondary English teacher? - What do you think makes a good teacher in the current Scottish education system? - How would you bring enthusiasm to a classroom? The trick to the first 2 was the specifics of the question; ie ‘secondary English teacher’ rather than teacher per se, and then the ‘in the current Scottish education system’ part as well. The 3rd Q caught me off guard a bit. But I clearly said something right. Hope it all goes well for you and good luck.
This is the best advice. I had an interview and used this video and I got accepted for pgce secondary school. Make sure you say you will “challenge” bad behaviour and don’t worry if you have no experience working with children but mention all the transferable skills you have! They might ask how will you cope with the busy course so don’t lie and say you can cope with anything. Mention how you will still take time to yourself and that you already have hobbies eg sports. Have fun and good luckkk!!!!!!!!

2 -The trainees expect the trainers to teach them behaviour management, it is not some skill you are born with, Experienced teachers have to share their knowledge.
Alongside want to show your passion about children and working with them, it would be beneficial to also add an example of how you would want to make an impact. "Why do you want to be a teacher?" "I want to be a teacher to make an impact on children's lives" is all well and good, but try not to sound cliche or generic.

If all these readymade questions are to be asked and interviewer expect this same type of answer then what is the use of interview.It means you can't think outside the box...... this is not interview then.....
There's always going to be your generic screening questions, that's a given. They'll add some different questions and develop from the answers you give
